Labadee, Haiti Cruise Port: All You Need to Know

J. Souza

Going to Haiti on cruise?  We have all you need to know about this popular cruise destination so you can be prepared when you visit this beautiful port of call.

Royal Caribbean cruise ship in Labadee Haiti

If you’re cruising aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship around its namesake sea (the Caribbean!), it is very likely that you will make a stop in Labadee, Haiti, during your voyage.

Serving as a private cruise port for Royal Caribbean, Labadee is a stunningly beautiful beachfront resort with crystal clear waters, a range of water and land activities, and breathtaking views.

Celebrity Cruises, which is owned by Royal Caribbean Group, will also stop at this little paradise.

Here, situated on a peninsula on the northern coast of Haiti, visitors can zip line, kayak, snorkel, or simply lounge on one of the peninsula’s white sandy beaches. The resort also features several shops, restaurants, and bars, making it an all-inclusive destination.

However, with so much to do at the resort (and typically only one day to explore it), cruisers should arrive prepared. In this article we will discuss all the things you need to know before your ship docks on Labadee’s shores.

Arriving at Labadee Cruise Port

labadee haiti cruise port

Passengers visiting Labadee might be struck by its unique location—situated on a peninsula, Labadee is unlike many other private cruise destinations which are on cruise lines’ own private islands. Regardless of its proximity to the mainland, Labadee is tucked into Haiti’s lush green hills, and feels just as secluded as other privately owned cruise destinations.

One of the advantages of visiting Labadee is its accessibility—even the largest of Royal Caribbean’s fleet can dock at its pier, saving passengers from having to take tenders to reach the shore. Once travelers arrive, paved trails make it easy to navigate the resort by foot or by wheelchair.

There is also a complimentary tram that travels around the private destination, with stops at many of the resort’s hubs of activity. If you’re not quite sure where to start, taking a ride on the tram upon arrival is a great way to survey your options for the day!

Dining & Shopping

Labadee features a range of dining and shopping options for visitors to enjoy, ranging from casual beachside dining to more formal restaurants. All of the food and drink on Labadee is prepared onboard your cruise ship and transported ashore, ensuring consistency and quality.

Lunch is complimentary and served at the Dragon’s Café (located near the pier), Café Labadee (located at Adrenaline Beach), and Columbus Cove Café (located at Columbus Cove). Each venue offers a buffet of barbecue, as well as a selection of fruits and vegetables.

There are five bars located around the resort. Dragon’s Breath pub is near the pier, and the Floating and Schooner Bars are on Adrenaline Beach. Nellie’s Tavern and Columbus Cove Bar are at Nellie’s Beach and Columbus Cove, respectively. Each bar serves a signature cocktails, virgin mocktails, beers, and sodas.

Any drink package benefits you purchased for onboard use will work at Labadee as well. Whether you bought the Deluxe Beverage package for unlimited alcoholic beverages or the Royal Refreshment package for unlimited soda, don’t forget to take advantage of this! Simply hand your SeaPass card to any waiter or bartender and you can receive the same benefits as you did on board.

Bear in mind, however, that the island’s drink selection may be more limited than the ship, and that drinks served in souvenir cups are not included (although you can get a discount!).

Labadee also features many shops selling souvenirs, jewelry, and other items. Visitors browsing the shops to purchase unique items to take home as a memento of their trip would be well advised to explore the Artisan Market. Here, local vendors sell colorful and often homemade wares.

However, beware of pushy peddlers who pester you for a purchase! This is a known practice on Labadee, and it is perfectly fine to decline their offers if you are not interested.

Activities & Excursions

labadee haiti cruises

One of the main attractions of Labadee is its range of activities and excursions. Visitors to the port can choose from a variety of land and water-based activities, including zip lining, kayaking, snorkeling, and beach lounging.

When you arrive at the port, you will see the Trading Post at the end of the pier; here, you can book tours, rides, and excursions (if you did not do so in advance).

Zip-lining is one of the most popular activities at Labadee—with over 2,800 feet of line, the resort features what was once the longest zipline over water in the world. The Dragon’s Breath zip-line starts 450 feet atop a hill and takes visitors on a thrilling ride over the water, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding area.

While this is a pricey excursion (coming in around $89), it is Labadee’s “claim to fame,” and, for adrenaline lovers, is well worth the cost. If you like thrills, be sure to also check out Dragon’s Tail roller coaster (this alpine coaster is a bit cheaper at $22 for one rider with a second rider free).

For those who prefer water-based activities, Labadee offers a range of options, including kayaking and snorkeling. Visitors can rent kayaks and explore the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea or take a guided snorkeling tour and see the vibrant marine life that inhabits the area.

There are also nature trails scattered throughout the resort that provide amazing views of the peninsula and surrounding sea.

Cruises are required to stay within the secure fenced-in area of the resort, so there are no excursions that explore the rest of the island. Regardless, Labadee offers some amazing excursion experiences, such as:

  • Luxury sailboat cruises that take you out to sea for a short swim and some sightseeing with a small group of 20 or less. The sailboat will take you out to Amiga Island where you can hop in the water for a swim. The excursion will provide floating ‘noodles’ to swim with, but snorkeling gear is not provided. There is no food on the boat, and many cruises return after the island’s buffet has ended, so be sure to eat before you get on board. Additionally, locals might approach the boat to sell souvenirs, so be prepared with cash if you’re interested.
  • Sport fishing charters where you can reel in ‘big ones’ with experienced captains. On this excursion, you will take a scenic boat ride atop a 25-foot fishing vessel and learn how to catch a variety of trophy fish (if you get lucky and they bite). Guests prone to sea sickness will want to opt out of this adventure.
  • Snorkeling excursions offer visitors to Labadee the chance to explore some of Haiti’s gorgeous coral reefs a bit further away from the peninsula, where there is more wildlife. This is a great option for guests who are not planning on bringing or purchasing their own snorkeling gear, as there is none available to rent on the island. If you do bring or buy your own gear, the best places to snorkel are at Adrenaline or Nellie’s Beach.
  • A Haitian village cultural experience takes guests via boat to a separate cove to learn more about the local lifestyle. Upon arrival, you will wade through some water to reach the village, so be sure to pack comfortable water shoes. The cultural experiences include seeing how baskets, peanut butter, and bread are made on the island, as well as listening to local music and seeing traditional dances. If you choose to bring back a memento, be forewarned that souvenirs in the village are typically more expensive than similar items sold at the pier.

Beaches on Labadee

Beach lounging is also a popular activity at Labadee, and visitors can relax on the beautiful white sand beaches that line the peninsula. The resort features four beaches—Adrenaline Beach, Columbus Cove, Nellie’s Beach, and Barefoot Beach—each offering its own character and distinct experience.

For a relaxing beach day this port is a popular spot for cabana rental.

On every beach, you will find complimentary beach chairs and hammocks available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • Adrenaline Beach is a popular spot for thrill-seekers visiting Labadee. The beach features a range of adrenaline-pumping activities, including a wave jet roller coaster, where visitors can ride over the waves of the Caribbean Sea on a motorized surfboard. The beach also offers a rock climbing wall, zip lining, and a beach volleyball court for visitors to enjoy.

For those looking to cool off, Adrenaline Beach features a swim-up bar that floats just off the shore in the Caribbean. Adrenaline Beach is a great spot for adventure and excitement, and visitors can challenge themselves to try out the many activities available while taking in the beauty and relaxation of the Caribbean Sea.

  • Home to the Arawak Water Park, Columbus Cove is the furthest of the beaches from the pier. Named after Christopher Columbus, who is believed to have landed in the area during his explorations of the Caribbean, the cove features crystal-clear waters and pristine white sand, making it a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports.

Visitors to the local beach of Columbus Cove can also enjoy a variety of amenities, including loungers, rentable cabanas, and umbrellas. A buffet lunch is served to guests, and there are beachside bars that offer beers and the peninsula’s signature cocktail, the “Labaduzee.” The cove is accessible by foot, tender, or via the resort’s tram system, and visitors can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding hills and the Caribbean Sea.

  • One of the quieter options on Labadee, Nellie’s Beach is another great choice within the Haitian resort. This beach offers stunning views of the Caribbean Sea.

Visitors to Nellie’s Beach can enjoy a range of activities, including water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding, as well as lounging on the pristine white sand. The beach also features a floating aqua park, where visitors can jump, slide and bounce on a variety of inflatable structures.

Nellie’s Beach is a great spot for relaxation and adventure, and cruise-goers can take in the natural beauty of the area while enjoying the amenities offered by the resort.

  • If you have a Grand Suite or better while on your cruise, Barefoot Beach is available to you. It is highly recommended that you take advantage of this—the quiet beauty of this beach is unmatched on Labadee. The most private of the four beaches, Barefoot Beach offers the option to rent a cabana; however, these rentals do go fast, so it is recommended to book these ahead of your cruise by contacting your cruise concierge.

What to Pack for a Day at Labadee

labadee haiti sites and overlook

Before you disembark from the ship, you’ll want to be sure you have all the things you need for the day to save any inconvenient treks back to the boat. As you pack your bag, be sure to remember:

  • Cash for tips and souvenirs: Chairs are complimentary on all of Labadee’s beaches, but there are locals who will help you set them up, and it is customary to tip them for this help. Additionally, local vendors selling Haitian souvenirs only accept cash, so if you plan to bring back some goodies, don’t forget your wallet!
  • SeaPass Card: You will need your SeaPass card to disembark the ship and for most transactions on the island, including refreshment purchases and excursions. All-inclusive drink packages are applicable on the island, so don’t forget to take advantage of this.
  • Water shoes : If you plan to swim, be prepared for a rocky experience, and pack your water shoes. While there is plenty of white sand at Labadee’s beaches, the ocean floor can be treacherous and the beaches themselves can heat up in the afternoon sun. To avoid a stubbed toe or a burnt foot, pack water shoes and wear them when entering and exiting the water.
  • Towels : There are no towel stations on Labadee, so be sure to take your own beach towel ashore.
  • Water bottle : There are water refill stations available at each buffet, so you can stay hydrated all day if you bring your own insulated cup.

Other Tips for Visiting Labadee

  • Lockers are available to rent near the Dragon’s Breath Zipline for around $10/locker. These are available for the entire day and can be useful for storing your items while exploring the peninsula.
  • The best months to visit Labadee are between December and April, when it is not too hot in Haiti.
  • To avoid the lines at popular attractions such as the Dragon Zipline and Dragon’s Tail Coaster, head there as soon as you arrive.

There are many Haitians who work at the cruise port and some sell locally made products.  You can’t use your cruise card for buying crafts and goods at these market places so have some cash on hand.

From stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters to adrenaline-pumping activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy at Labadee. Whether you choose to explore the market, sample delicious Haitian cuisine, or simply relax on the beach and take in the breathtaking scenery, you are sure to enjoy your time ashore.

Here are a few ways to experience Labadee:

  • Cruise with Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruises: Labadee is only accessible to Royal Caribbean and Celebrity cruise guests. Royal Caribbean offers a variety of cruises that include a stop at Labadee on a Western Caribbean itinerary, ranging from short weekend cruises to longer voyages.
  • Book a shore excursion:   Royal Caribbean offers a variety of shore excursions, including ziplining, parasailing, and watersports.
  • Visit Artisan’s Village: Artisan’s Village is a great place to shop for souvenirs and learn about Haitian culture. Local artisans sell a variety of goods, including wood carvings, paintings, and jewelry.
  • Relax on the beach: If you’re looking for a relaxing beach day, Labadee is the perfect place. There are five stretches of stunning shoreline to choose from, each with its own unique atmosphere. You can rent a beach chair and umbrella, or simply spread out your towel on the sand.
  • Take a free tram ride: Labadee is a large peninsula, so it can be helpful to take the free tram ride to get around. The tram stops at all of the major attractions, including the beach, Artisan’s Village, and the Dragon’s Splash Waterslide.
  • Try a Labadoozie: A Labadoozie is a frozen cocktail that is only available at Labadee. It’s a delicious and refreshing way to cool off on a hot day.

15 Best Things To Do In Labadee Haiti | Cruise Port Guide

Labadee Welcome sign

Labadee is the Royal Caribbean’s private resort destination located on the northern coast of Haiti, within the arrondissement of Cap-Haïtien. Labadee is not an island, as many think! The resort lies on a Haitian peninsula that is leased to Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., for the exclusive use of passengers of Royal Caribbean International.

Labadee is fenced and secured, and guests are not allowed to leave the property. Once in Labadee, you’ll meet locals hired by the Royal Caribbean, and also those allowed to sell their goods at the Artisan’s Market. In this Labadee cruise port guide, I share with you insider information on:

  • Labadee port (getting around the resort, insider tips)
  • Top 15 things to do in Labadee and best Labadee shore excursions

Labadee Haiti Port Overview

Labadee (Haiti) port consists of two docks that can accommodate 2 cruise ships simultaneously (1 berth can accommodate the Royal Caribbean’s largest cruise ships). Normally there is only one cruise vessel at a time in port, but sometimes there are two depending on the ship’s size.

The pier is flat, around 400 m (1315 ft.) long and it takes around 5-10 minutes to reach the entrance to the resort, depending on the walking speed. Wheelchair assistance is provided for guests with wheelchair devices and mobility issues, and there is usually a small cart to take these guests to the entrance of the resort.

When you reach the entrance, you’ll be welcomed by lively local performers and Royal Caribbean staff working in the resort who will show you the directions.

Getting Around Labadee Haiti

Labadee is relatively small and easy to get around, as it’s less than 1 km long (0.5 miles) and half a kilometer wide (0.25 miles). It covers an area of 260 acres, and it takes around 15-20 minutes walk to get from the entrance to the resort to its end. The resort is exclusively designed for cruise ship guests and everything is perfectly organized. The roads and paths are paved and well-marked and there are signs all over the place.

You’ll find Royal Caribbean’s friendly staff everywhere, happy to answer all your questions. The whole resort is accessible and there are beach wheelchairs available, so guests in wheelchairs can easily navigate the area.

You’ll spot a large map of the resort right by the entrance, as well as Information Center , a square where the tram stop is (next to a large wooden colorful chair), and a red building on your right where restrooms are (this area is marked as Dragon’s Plaza on the map below).

If you can’t or don’t want to walk, you can take a free tram at the Dragon Tram Station that will take you to Columbus Cove Tram Station at the end of the resort. There are two stops in between, one at Nellie’s Beach (Barefoot Tram Station) and Town Square Tram Station (where the flea market is). Alternatively, a walk to Columbus Cove will take you around 15 minutes.

Buccaneer’s Bay

Upon entering the resort on your right side you’ll see an area known as Buccaneer’s Bay. There is a shop  where you can buy t-shirts, insect repellents, hats, Royal Caribbean souvenirs, sunscreen, sunglasses, and other practical items. These items are charged to your SeaPass card , so don’t forget to bring it!

Note that everything you purchase or sign up for on Labadee (shore excursions, drinks in a bar, items in Buccaneer’s Bay, umbrellas, activities, and floating mats) will be charged to your Sea Pass card. You’ll need cash only for Artisan’s Market (flea market) if you want to buy things from local people.

At Buccaneer’s Bay, you can also sign up for some cruise line-sponsored shore excursions that will take you outside Labadee (such as Amiga Island escape, snorkeling tours, Paradise Cove, cultural experiences and a tour of the local village, deep-sea fishing, speed boat adventure, etc.), and for the activities such as parasailing and jet ski .

Labadee Restaurants and Bars

There are three open-air buffet-style restaurants in Labadee and the food is complimentary for all guests and crew. The food is the same in all three restaurants and is prepared onboard a cruise ship.

The food is barbecue style and consists of burgers, cheese, sausages, pork ribs, vegetables (corn, beans, salads), hot dogs, rice, fruits, and desserts. Water and a choice of soft drinks are complimentary, too.

The lunch is usually served from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, and you can choose to eat wherever you want. The three restaurants are located in three different areas in the resort (you can see the names of the restaurants on a map above):

  • Dragon’s Café – This is the restaurant that you’ll spot right by the entrance, to your left, next to the Zipline sign-up hut.
  • Café Labadee – This restaurant overlooks Adrenaline Beach, opposite Town Square and the flea market.
  • Columbus Cove Café – Located on Columbus Cove beach, the furthest from the resort entrance.

Guests from suites have the right to use Barefoot Beach Club where they have their own, private beach and a bar restaurant.

Labadee restaurant - dessert

As for Labadee bars , there are several bars where you can enjoy signature cocktails, drinks, and beers. There are 5 bars in Labadee:

  • Floating Bar (Adrenaline Beach)
  • Nellie’s Tavern (Nellie’s Beach)
  • Columbus Cove
  • Schooner Bar (Town Square)
  • Dragon’s Breath Pub (right by the entrance).

If you have a drink package , you can use it in Labadee bars. If not, the drinks are charged to your Sea Pass card. Bring some cash if you want to tip a bartender.

Labadee (Haiti) Beaches

There are 3 main beaches in Labadee Haiti and they are all free to access. Every beach has a lot of sunbeds that guests can use for free. If you want an umbrella or a floating mat, these are for an additional charge and you need to sign up for them at the nearest signup hut.

1. Adrenaline Beach

This is the first beach that you’ll see upon entering a resort on your left. Adrenaline beach is the longest beach and you’ll easily recognize it as the zipline goes over it. It is called “Adrenaline” beach due to the waves and rocky bottom (only at one end of the beach), so some parts of the beach are not allowed to swim.

If you continue walking along this beach, you’ll reach an area with dozens of loungers and beach beds where you can swim. There is also a sheltered shallow area where the Floating bar is, one of the most popular bars in Labadee.

Adrenaline Beach Labadee

2. Nellie’s Beach

Nellie’s Beach is very popular with families due to its sandy bottom and shallow waters. It is located on the opposite side of Adrenaline Beach, on the right side of the resort entrance. To reach it, you can either take a free tram (and get off at the first stop) or walk for less than 10 minutes.

Nellie’s beach boasts warm water and you’ll easily identify it by the overwater and waterfront cabanas scattered around. Nellie’s Beach has a lot of shaded areas and gets crowded fast, so go there earlier to choose your preferred spot.

Nellie's Beach Labadee

3. Columbus Cove

It is the remotest beach in Labadee, and it takes a 15-20-minute walk to reach it on foot. You can also take a free tram and get off at the last stop. Columbus Cove is a long beach ideal for kids and families. It boasts an aqua park, a waterslide, a restaurant, and a bar. Here you can sign up for activities such as the Arawak Aqua Park , waterslide , and kayaking . Beach bungalows are located here.

Columbus Cove Labadee

4. Barefoot Beach

This beach is exclusive for suite guests only. The beach is located next to Nellie’s beach and has its own private bar/restaurant exclusively for suite guests.

15 Best Things to Do in Labadee Haiti

I mentioned above that the food, beaches, and sunbeds are complimentary in Labadee for all cruise ship passengers. Additional activities and shore excursions are available for a fee. These are all offered by the cruise line, so you can’t book any activity or excursion with an independent tour operator.

If you are sure that you want to do an activity, I suggest you pre-book it before your cruise as the prices are normally lower. It is also advisable to pre-book it as many activities are quickly sold out due to limited space.

Alternatively, you can book your activities onboard or in Labadee on-site (if you book it on-site, you will be charged on your Sea Pass card once you go back onboard). The prices onboard and on Labadee sign-up counters are the same .

1. Labadee Wave Jet Tour

The jet ski sign-up hut is located at Buccaneer’s Bay, right at the resort entrance. Jet Ski ride usually takes around 1.5 hours and is guided by an instructor. There is limited availability on these tours so I suggest you book it as soon as possible if you want to do the activity.

It’s extremely fun, it allows you to enjoy a beautiful Haitian coast and capture some spectacular shots of the ship. There are lockers and changing rooms available at the Buccaneer’s Bay. Before the activity itself, participants need to fill out the waivers and watch a safety video before receiving safety equipment.

Insider Tip : If you want to do a jet ski, sign up for it in the morning because in the afternoon the activity sometimes gets canceled due to the strong winds.

Labadee Jet Ski Ride

2. Tandem Parasail

The sign-up hut is at Buccaneer’s Bay, next to the jet ski. I also suggest you sign up for it in the morning, because it often gets canceled in the afternoon due to the winds. There are weight restrictions on this activity, and you must sign a waiver before joining it.

3. Labadee Zipline

This is probably the most iconic and adrenaline-packed activity you can do in Labadee! Labadee zipline is the longest overwater zip line in the world and it stretches for 2,800 feet across the bay. The zipline starts 500 feet up the hillside and finishes on land at the opposite side of the bay, next to the Dragon’s Café. Before I tell you more, keep in mind that there are 2 zip lines in Labadee (Haiti) : Dragon’s Breath Flight Line and Dragon’s Fire Flight Line.

Labadee Zipline - Dragon's Breath Flight Line

The main difference is in the position. Dragon’s Breath Flight Line is a seated position, and Dragon’s Fire Flight Line is head-first (flying like Superman). Dragon’s Fire zipline is more extreme, slightly higher, longer (2.800 feet), and only for the brave ones! Dragon’s Flightline sign-up hut for both ziplines is right by the entrance, on your left, next to Dragon’s Café, at Adrenaline Beach. There are two sign-up huts next to each other.

For Dragon’s Breath Flight Line, before the activity, you will receive a safety briefing and do a test ride before embarking on a truck that will take you to the hilltop from where you’ll zip down. For Dragon’s Fire Flight Line, there is no test ride and you go straight to the top of the hill.

The ride normally lasts around 2 minutes (the longest 2 minutes in my life) and is absolutely spectacular! I did Dragon’s Breath Flight Line (seated position) and I absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to experience some adrenaline rush and (in my case) face their fear of heights.

Lockers are available for an additional fee at the zipline sign-up huts. Weight restrictions apply and a waiver must be filled out before the activity.

Insider tips : The two zip lines are two different activities, they have different briefings and start from different launch platforms. If you want to do it with a group of friends, make sure you all book the same activity at the same selected time.

Bring your GoPro with a strap as there is no professional photographer taking pictures of you. Wear sandals or close-toe shoes. You cannot bring anything on your zipline except for sunglasses, a phone (at your own risk – make sure you keep it secured), and closed-toe shoes.

Labadee Zipline - Dragon's Breath Flight Line launch platform

4. Dragon’s Tail Coaster

Labadee coaster is another must-do activity in Labadee, as it goes through the lush forest and offers unmatched views of Labadee (Haiti) once you are at the top. Dragon’s Tail Coaster sign-up hut is at the end of Adrenaline beach, near Café Labadee and the Floating bar. This activity is suitable for families, as 2 people can ride in one cart (one is the driver, another one is the passenger).

You can sign up for this activity onboard but you can also do it at the resort because there’s always space. You can adjust your speed and brake if it goes too fast. I went on a roller coaster a couple of times and truly enjoyed it, even though I am afraid of heights.

Weight and age restrictions apply, and you need to sign a waiver. Lockers are available at the Dragon’s Tail Coaster sign-up counter.

Dragon's Tail Coaster - Labadee Coaster

5. Dragon’s Splash Waterslide

The waterslide is available at Columbus Cove and is mainly designed for kids (it’s not really for adults). A waiver is required to be signed.

Dragon's Splash Waterslide, Labadee Haiti

6. Arawak Aqua Park

The aqua park is located at Columbus Cove and is an activity designed for kids. There are selected times that you can choose from and there is limited availability. If you purchase a ticket, it is available only for 1 hour. Age restrictions apply, and a waiver must be filled out. Kids under 4 (if memory serves me well) can’t go.

Arawak Aqua Park, Labadee

7. Kayak Adventure

Paddle a kayak along a beautiful Haiti coast onboard double kayaks that start at Columbus Cove. Weight and age restrictions apply, and you get a briefing and a waiver to sign before the activity.

8. Relax in a Cabana, Beach Bed, Beach Bungalow, or Beach Loungers

If you decide to spend a beach day, you can upgrade to one of the beach beds and cabanas for an ultimate stay in Labadee (Haiti).

  • Beach loungers are the cheapest option. They are located on Adrenaline Beach and look like blue-white tents designed for two guests. The price is around $48 per lounger.
  • Beach beds are located at the end of Adrenaline Beach, they offer more comfort and privacy. The price per beach bed is around $175 and includes 2 complimentary floating mats and a cooler with two bottles of water. Each is designed for two guests.
  • Beach bungalows are located in Columbus Cove, they can accommodate up to 6 guests who get 6 complimentary bottles of water and 2 floating mats. They have curtains for privacy and comfortable padded patio-type furniture. The price per bungalow is around $260.
  • Beach Cabanas – There are three different types of cabanas, they can accommodate up to 8 guests each and the price depends on the location (they range from $375 to $595 per cabana). They go from the lowest to the highest: Beach Cabana at Nellie’s Beach, Waterfront Cabana at Nellie’s Beach, Cabana over the water at Nellie’s Beach.
  • Guests in Barefoot Beach Club can book their private Barefoot Cabanas .

Note: For updated prices and availability, check out the Royal Caribbean’s official website  or the Shore excursion desk if you are currently onboard.

9. Amiga Island Escape

This island is one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever been in my life. It is located a 20-30-minute boat ride from Labadee, and you must book a shore excursion to get there (Amiga Island Experience and Island Escape are the two shore excursions that include a stop and free time on the island). The boat ride can be bumpy sometimes.

Amiga Island is secluded and consists of only one bar, restrooms, hammocks, sunbeds, and shaded areas where you can relax. The island is a true gem and small, so you can walk around it in 10 minutes. You can also snorkel in some parts, but make sure you bring your snorkel gear because you cannot rent it on the island.

To get more info about Amiga Island, check out my article 7 Private Islands in the Caribbean to visit on a Cruise

Amiga Island, Cap Haitien, Haiti

10. Labadee Snorkel Safari

Labadee beaches are sandy and not really good for snorkeling. If you want to go snorkeling, you need to book a guided snorkeling shore excursion named Labadee Snorkel Safari that usually departs twice per day (that’s why it’s better to either pre-book it or book it onboard to ensure your spot).

This snorkeling tour will take you to the open sea and stop at two beautiful snorkeling locations where you get to explore the fascinating Haitian underwater sea life. I haven’t done it, but I had dozens of guests coming to provide me with great feedback on a tour. Snorkel equipment is included in this tour.

Insider Tip : Book a morning departure as afternoon departures sometimes get canceled due to the strong winds and waves.

11. Cruise along the Haitian Coast

If you want to enjoy the gorgeous views of Haiti’s mountainous coast, you need to book a shore excursion for an extra fee. Royal Caribbean offers several sailing shore excursions that include fishing, sailing, snorkeling, complimentary food and drinks, sightseeing, adrenaline speedboat ride… There are normally one up to three departures a day for each tour, and I would suggest you always book a morning departure as the afternoon tours sometimes get canceled due to the windy weather.

I suggest you search on the Royal Caribbean official website for availability as not always all the tours are available. If you want to pay a cheaper price, I suggest you pre-book your shore excursion before your cruise to Labadee, and to ensure your spot on a tour – book it onboard latest!

These are some of the shore excursions you can book:

  • A Luxury Sailing Yacht Experience
  • Discover Haiti Coastal Cruise (a sightseeing cruise suitable for guests with walking difficulties!)
  • Paradise Cove and Haitian Village Escape (includes a visit to a local village)
  • Labadee Snorkel Safari
  • Speedboat Ride and Adventure
  • Amiga Island Experience
  • Island Escape
  • Labadee Sport Fishing

Haiti coast - The view from Amiga Island

12. Haitian Village Sightseeing & Cultural Experiences

If you want to explore the culture and traditions of native Haitians, there are several Labadee shore excursions you can book. Some of them include a visit to a local village, while some include cultural workshops and a stroll around Labadee.

There are usually one to three departures daily, and tours last from 1-3 hours so you can enjoy some time in Labadee afterward. Some of the shore excursions are:

  • Labadee Traditions (visit to a local village, cultural demonstrations, local dance)
  • Paradise Cove and Haitian Village Escape (includes a stop at the secluded cove)
  • Labadee Walking Tour (a 1-hour walk around Labadee resort, on this tour you don’t go to a local village).

13. Artisan’s Market Shopping Experience

If you want to go shopping in Labadee , you can head toward Town Square and Columbus Cove, and you will soon reach Artisan’s Village and Market, a large area where native people sell handmade clothes, handicrafts, souvenirs, paintings, and much more!

You will need cash to pay for the items you buy from local people, however, if you buy something at a shop at Buccaneer’s Bay, you’ll need a SeaPass card as it is charged by Royal Caribbean onboard. Keep in mind that the local sellers are very pushy – that’s just the way they are and don’t feel obligated to buy something if you don’t want to.

14. Adventure Ocean Oasis

Adventure Ocean Oasis is located in the central part of the resort between Adrenaline Beach and Nellie’s Beach. This area is reserved for the youngest ones, and you can’t miss it as it’s on the main road where the tram stops! It has a water park and kids’ splash zone filled with toys, geysers, fountains, and a “wreck” of a pirate ship.

Adventure Ocean Oasis is free to use for everyone. There is a beautiful park right next to it, with flowers, plants, trees, hammocks, and wonderful views of Adrenaline Beach.

15. Labadee Beaches

Earlier in the article, I wrote about 3 main beaches in Labadee: Adrenaline Beach, Nellie’s Beach and Columbus Cove (and Barefoot Beach for suite guests only). If you decide not to spend any money on Labadee activities, excursions, or shopping, you can simply spend a day at one of the beaches.

Sunbeds are for free, and if you want to upgrade you can rent one of the loungers, beds, bungalows, and cabanas. There is a lot of shade all over the place, enough sunbeds, and all beaches are accessible for wheelchair users.

Wrapping Up

If you are planning a cruise to Labadee, get ready for an ultimately fun day and make sure you plan it ahead so you maximize your stay in the port of Labadee. To wrap up, here is a list of useful insider Labadee tips:

  • Bring your towel from the ship, because there is no towel station in Labadee.
  • Bring some cash if you want to shop at Artisan Market. If you want to purchase other activities, excursions, drinks (in case you don’t have a drink package), and items in the Buccaneer’s Bay shop, it will be charged to your SeaPass card (make sure you bring it with you).
  • Labadee lies within a gated area and is secured by private security. Labadee is safe to walk around, however, always keep an eye on your belongings. It is strictly forbidden to leave the resort area (you are allowed to do so only on a guided shore excursion).
  • You don’t need to bring your passport/photo ID. Bring only your SeaPass card .
  • Lunch is usually served from 11:30 am until 1:30/2:00 pm, so make sure you plan your day and activities accordingly.
  • If you want to book activities and excursions, I highly suggest you book morning departures (especially snorkeling/sailing excursions, jet skiing, and parasailing… ) because the wind picks up in the afternoon and excursions sometimes get canceled.
  • Always check the age and weight restrictions when booking Labadee activities.
  • Local people appreciate tips (street performers, dancers), as well as tour guides. These are not mandatory, though.
  • Bring sunscreen, insect repellent, a waterproof phone case, a camera (for the activities), light clothes, a hat, and sunglasses. You can purchase most of these items in the Labadee shop, however, they are more expensive there. Do not bring valuables with you.
  • There is NO Wi-Fi available in the resort (not even the ship’s internet).
  • Pre-book your activities and shore excursions to ensure you have space on a selected departure time.
  • If an activity/shore excursion is canceled, you will be automatically refunded on board.

Labadee (Haiti) Royal Caribbean Cruise Port Guide and Review (2023)

Panoramic photo of the pier and entrance to the Labadee cruise port

Essential guide to the cruise port in Labadee (Royal Caribbean's private resort in Haiti): where ships dock, the terminal, how to get around, best things to do, how to explore on your own and shore excursions, beaches, cabanas, shopping, lunch, and all must-know.

By: Editor-in-Chief Updated: May 30, 2023

Unlike what you may read in less accurate reviews, Labadee is not an island. The cruise port of Labadee is in an enclosed peninsula in Haiti with a vast area that is, in reality, a gatted resort for the exclusive privilege of passengers of Royal Caribbean.

Cruise passengers are not allowed outside the gated area and cannot access Haiti. Not even on shore excursions.

  • Must-know: language, currency and more
  • Safety, travel advisory and Covid-19

Labadee is a regularly visited port of call on Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries during the Fall-Winter season. Most cruises calling at Labadee depart from Miami or Orlando, visiting one or two other ports like CocoCay, Nassau, Key West, Falmouth, or Grand Cayman. Some 8-night cruises will call at ports like San Juan, St Maarten, and Antigua. In 2019, there were over 160 cruise ship calls at Labadee, with 720,000 passengers visiting the resort.

Where is Labadee and the cruise port

Labadee is on the north coast of Haiti, 32 miles (51.3 km) west of the Dominican Republic. The closest cruise port to Labadee is Grand Turk, around 134 miles (215 km) to the north. However, the Grand Turk cruise terminal is a Carnival Corporation development, and Royal Caribbean cruise ships do not include it in their itineraries. Labadee is 657 miles (1,057 km) southeast of Miami.

The cruise port in Labadee has a 0.25-mile (400 meters) pier extending south into the ocean. More precisely, into Buccaneer's Bay. It has one berth where extra-large ships like Royal Caribbean's Oasis class can dock. At the end of the pier, cruise passengers enter the main gate to the property. You will not find land transportation between the ship gangway and the entrance of the 260-acre private resort.

Cruise terminal services and amenities

There isn't a cruise terminal building as such in Labadee. However, passengers will find all services and amenities near the resort's entrance.

On the right side, in an area known as Buccaneer's Bay, you will find a Trading Post with all sorts of beachwear (t-shirts, sunglasses, hats, and so on) for those that forgot something onboard or at home. And there are also two large desks to book tours and get information for activities such as:

  • Parasailing
  • Deep-sea fishing
  • Speed boat adventure

Behind the shore excursions counters is the meeting point for these activities and also lockers to leave your stuff whilst on tour. Walking 300 feet straight into the resort, your will also find the following:

  • Dragon’s Tram Station
  • Information Center and Meeting Point
  • Dragon’s Café
  • Beach wheelchairs

How to get around in Labadee

Although there isn't a shuttle bus in Labadee, most cruise travelers walk the gangway into the pier, not realizing there are a few very convenient ways to explore the resort. Some cruisers may not realize how easy it is to walk around and how Labadee is very accessibility friendly.

Columbus Cove Express the tender boat

A tender boat specially designed by Royal Caribbean docks right by the gangway. This double-decker type of water taxi takes passengers to Columbus Cove, the farthest beach in Labadee. Named Columbus Cove Express, the tender boat service is free and takes a few minutes to sail ½ a mile (800 meters) to Columbus Cove.

There is also a free tram running continuously between the Dragon Tram Station (by the entrance of the resort) and the Columbus Cove Tram Station on the East side of the property. There are a couple of stops along the way: the Barefoot Tram Station and the Town Square Tram Station. Using the Columbus Cove Express to get to the farthest beach and returning with the tram is a great way of exploring Labadee.

Because Labadee is just over ½ mile (800 meters) long and no more than ⅓ mile (400 meters) wide, walking is a comfortable way to get to all and every attraction of Labadee. All paths and trails are paved. There are many shaded places to rest, and there is excellent signage along the way. Paths are well-marked, color colored, and divided into leisure (green), moderate (amber), and strenuous (red).

Acessibility: wheelchairs and scooters

Cruisers with mobility difficulties will find beach wheelchairs right by the resort's entrance. And you can easily take wheelchairs to all food and beverage venues, restrooms, beaches, and all tram stops. Passengers traveling with a wheelchair or a scooter will find it easy and comfortable to explore Labadee.

The beaches in Labadee

Unlike what you may read in lesser accurate reviews, there are four beaches in Labadee but one of them is for the exclusive use of passengers cruising on the Grand Suites of Royal Caribbean and Celebrity.

Barefoot Beach

Barefoot Beach is for the exclusive use of passengers cruising on the Grand Suites of Royal Caribbean and Celebrity.

Adrenaline Beach

Adrenaline is on the north shore of the resort and the largest beach in Labadee. The floating bar is one of the signature features of this beach.

Columbus Cove

On the shore of a southern bay, Columbus Cove is the remotest beach in Labadee. The best way to get there is with the Columbus Cove Express.

Nellie's Beach

On the southern shore of Labadee, Nellie's Beach is small, secluded, and with excellent cabanas. .

Cabanas, bungalows, beach loungers, and beach beds in Labadee

Passengers cruising in Grand Suites and above can access the Barefoot Beach Club with luxurious cabanas and an oceanview spa. All other passengers may book different cabanas categories, beach bungalows , beach loungers , and beach beds . Here are all types of beach retreats and prices.

  • Cabana over the water at Nellie's Beach. Price: US$579.00 for eight guests.

Dining and drinks in Labadee

Do not expect gourmet cusine in Labadee. In fact, all food is cooked onboard your cruise ship and transported to these venues. Think more of a barbecue lunch in a tropical setting than a seating down serviced experince. All bars in Labadee serve signature cocktails, virgin drinks and beers. Cruise passengers with beverage packages can also use these in Labadee.

Complimentary lunch

Lunch in Labadee is served in three venues well placed along the resort.

  • Dragon’s Café. Complimentary buffet lunch close to the pier entrance.
  • Café Labadee. Complimentary buffet lunch on Adrenaline beach.
  • Columbus Cove Café. Complimentary buffet lunch on Columbus Cove.

Bars, Pub and Tavern

Bars in Labadee have different names and are in diverse settings. All are very similar except for the Floating Bar on Adrenaline beach.

  • Dragon’s Breath Pub. Bar near the Pier Entrance.
  • Floating Bar. Signature bar on Adrenaline beach.
  • Schooner Bar. Bar on Adrenaline beach.
  • Nellie’s Tavern. Bar on Nellie’s beach.
  • Columbus Cove. Bar on Columbus Cove.

There are three main shopping venues with souvenirs, local crafts, and products. The tradings posts sell mainly beachwear (t-shirts, sunglasses, hats, and so on). The Artisan’s Market is a large covered building with the best shopping in Labadee. The Artisan’s Village is a large open-air area with dozens of local artisans selling handicrafts like wooden carvings, paintings, decorative objects, and souvenirs. Purchases have to be paid in US$ cash.

  • Trading Posts: Buccaneer’s Trading Post, Barefoot Trading Post and Columbus Trading Post.
  • Artisan’s Market. Among others here are some of the shops in the market. Harry’s (fine carved statues and tableware). Les Ateliers Toggart (tapestries, exotic fabrics, and wall hangings). Connie’s (handmade pottery, jewelry, and paper maché). Rum of Haiti (world-famous Barbancourt rum and liqueurs). Carlos (hand-decorated skirts, dresses, shorts, and shirts). Gallerie Trois Visages (distinctive art by some of Haiti’s best).
  • Artisan’s Village. It is great fun to see some of the artisans work on their handicrafts. In particular, those carving wood or painting. Be prepared to haggle with the artisans to get a better deal but have in mind the dreadful life most have on the other side of the fence.

Shore excursions and tours

Celebrity Cruises offers as many 19 shore excursions and Royal Caribbean lists 43 cruise excursions .

Because Labadde is an area for the exclusive use of Royal Caribbean cruise ships and its sister brands, private online services and local tour operators do not offer shore excursions in Labadee.

Must-know: language and currency

Labadee Haiti cruise port

Region Bahamas - Caribbean - Bermuda

Local Time 2024-05-29 21:32

Port Labadee Haiti cruise ship schedule shows timetable calendars of all arrival and departure dates by month. The port's schedule lists all ships (in links) with cruises going to or leaving from Labadee Haiti, Royal Caribbean private island. To see the full itineraries (ports of call dates and arrival / departure times) and their lowest rates – just follow the corresponding ship-link.

Labadee is an exclusive (privately-owned) Caribbean island port and resort destination located on Haiti's northern coast. This "private island" (area sized 260 acres/105 hectares) is leased until 2050 to the company RCCL-Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (now RCG-Royal Caribbean Group). Since 1986, RCCL has contributed the biggest proportion of tourist revenue to Haiti, employing 300 locals, allowing another 200 to sell wares on the premises for a fee, and also paying the government of Haiti USD 12 per ship tourist.

As an exclusive destination, at Labadee can dock and disembark passengers/crew only liners from the fleets of RCI-Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises . The first liner that visited Labadee since the COVID crisis started (March 2020) was Harmony OTS - on January 27, 2022.

The resort is entirely tourism-oriented and guarded by a private security force. Cruisers are not allowed to leave the property - the site is fenced off from the surrounding area and food available to travelers is brought from the ships. Controlled Haitian merchants are given the sole rights to sell merchandise and establish businesses in the resort. Though sometimes described in advertisements as an island, Labadee is actually a peninsula contiguous with Hispaniola Island. The cruise ships moor to the pier at Labadee which was completed in late 2009 and is capable of servicing Oasis-class ships.

Labadee attractions include beaches, watersports, a water-oriented playground, an alpine coaster, a zip line, and a Haitian flea market.

Royal Caribbean ships arrive in Labadee at ~8 am. Disembarkation is after breakfast on the ship. Lunch is Labadee BBQ (including veggie burgers) starting at 11 am. Dining options also include salads, fast food (burgers, hot dogs), chicken, fresh-made food.

Purchases can be made via SeaPass (boarding cards), except craft markets selling locally-made merchandise for cash. Shopping on Labadee is available at Artisan Market (fixed prices store for handmade goods) and Artisan Village (outdoor market with negotiable prices). Both are cash-only shopping options.

  • Labadee's most popular attraction is the zip-line Dragon's Breath Flight Line. It starts from the mountain-top launch platform and allows speeds up to 50 mph (80 kph). Nature trails are also among the most common activities, along with parasailing, jet skiing, deep-sea fishing, alpine coaster riding, DreamWorks Safari. All these shore excursions can be booked prior the voyage (via RCI's Cruise Planner).
  • Renting private cabanas or beach bungalows is also very popular among tourists. These beachside accommodations provide privacy and can be booked either online (before the voyage, via RCI's Cruise Planner) or while on the ship. Beach beds and loungers are the other local rental options.
  • Columbus Cove Beach is the least crowded. Due to the large walking distance from the docking pier, tourists often use the quick and complimentary ferry ride to Columbus Cove.
  • Barefoot Beach is an exclusive beach (reserved for Grand Suite and above cruise ship passengers) served by its own lunch buffet restaurant.
  • At Adrenaline Beach there is a swim-up bar.
  • Adventure Ocean Oasis (at Adrenaline Beach) is a kids splash area equipped with water toys, fountains and geysers. The facility is part of RCI's onboard kids program "Adventure Ocean" for supervised children's activities. Other kids' playgrounds are the Arawak Aqua Park (at Columbus Cove, with water slides, floating trampolines and pyramids) and Dragon's Splash Waterslide (Columbus Cove, featuring a 300 ft / 90 m long water slide ending into a splash zone.

Just like shipboard, Royal Caribbean beverage packages  are all valid on Labadee too.

For touring Labadee, RCI provides complimentary shuttles all along the resort island. Tram stops are clearly marked.

In 2017 (August through October), Royal Caribbean made enhancements to Labadee's Adrenaline Beach. Works started on August 14 and included adding new reef balls to restore ailing coral reefs and create new scuba diving and snorkeling paths for cruise ship tourists. There were no works during all scheduled ship visits to the island. During the Adrenaline Beach redevelopment were also added cabanas.

Curiously, on Labadee there is a crew-only beach (located south of Columbus Cove Beach). Named "Belly Beach", it can be accessed only by boat (leaving from the jet-ski landing) and is exclusive to cruise ship crew members. Belly Beach is private (not owned by Royal Caribbean) so food and beverages there cost extra and are provided from an a la carte-priced menu at an open-air restaurant.

Barefoot Beach cabanas

Barefoot Beach on Labadee is an RCCL private beach property with exclusive access for Suite passengers and Pinnacle members of the company's "Crown & Anchor Society" loyalty program.

The beach offers a variety of private cabanas available for rent (at additional cost, on a first-come-first-served basis). These cabanas can be reserved via the ship's Concierge or the onboard Shore Excursions desk.

Follows the list of cabanas as types and rental prices (per cabana) at the Barefoot Beach: Standard (USD 295), Beachfront and Hilltop (USD 395), Over Water (USD 495). Reservations are full-day.

Each cabana has max capacity 6 people, 2 lounge chairs, a large indoor seating area. The list of price-inclusive amenities includes assigned attendant, complimentary amenities (towels, bottled water in cooler, snorkeling gear, 2 floating mats, hammocks, golf cart), private BBQ buffet exclusive access.

  • Standard cabanas are also wheelchair accessible (with 2 steps only).
  • Hilltop cabanas are the most private, featuring great panoramic views from above.
  • Over Water cabanas have direct access to the sea and the beach.
  • Beachfront cabanas are on the waterfront.

Nellie's Beach cabanas

Nellie's Beach is another RCCL private beach property with free access for all cabin types of passengers. The beach offers a variety of private cabanas available for rent (at additional cost, on a first-come-first-served basis).

These cabanas can be reserved via Cruise Planner (at RCI's website) and are 2 types - "Beach" and "Over-Water". Rent prices are USD 395 (Beach Cabana) and USD 495 (Over Water Cabana). Over-Water cabanas are built on rock groupings and have walkways down to the sea.

All rental details and price-included amenities are the same as for the suite-only Barefoot Beach.

At Columbus Beach, there are new bungalows (similar to the cabanas). Bungalow's rental price is USD 225 per day.

Labadee Haiti cruise terminal

Labadee is most popular with its beaches and active fun. Among the most popular attractions and activities are:

  • Dragon's Breath Zip-Line is the longest built over water - length 2600 ft (792 m), 500 ft (152 m) above the beach, zip-lining speed is 40-50 mph (65-80 kph).
  • Arawak Aqua Park - among its best features are floating trampolines, inflatable pyramids, water slides, kids splash areas.
  • Alpine Coaster (roller coaster) is located approx 700 ft (213 m) up on Santa Maria mountain. A single car vehicle races down at speeds of 30 mph (50 kph) with numerous turns, dips and waves.
  • Parasailing - height is approx 400 ft (122 m) in the air.
  • 3-hour Deep sea fishing tour is offered off the Labadee's coast on a private boat (26 ft / 8 m long), where you can catch large fish (like tuna, marlin, wahoo).

Next is the new map isssued after the 2017 refurbishment.

Furious Flyer Zipline (shore excursion, booking code ZLE8) has as requirements  minimum weight 34 kg, minimum height 1,2 m (tall) and max weight 125 kg (no minimum age). This hrilling sky-high adventure offers tandem zip-lining  along 850 m (2800 ft) long zipline above Labadee's  forested mountains and tropical seascapes. The excursion starts from a launch tower where expert trainers deliver safety briefings and equipment (helmet and cable harness). Then passengers start flying head-first through a tunnel of tall trees. The zip line opens up over cliffs plunging to the ocean below and ends on a landing deck.

  • USD prices -  139 (adult / c hild), complimentary for infants
  • What to Bring -  SeaPass card, c ash / credit cards
  • What to Wear - h at, sunglasses, c losed-toe shoes, long shorts / trousers
  • Flight Line Staff reserves the right to adjust weight requirements due to weather conditions at any time before or during the tour.

“Due to the evolving situation in Haiti, we’ll now visit Perfect Day at CocoCay instead of Labadee, Haiti. We’re terribly sorry for the last-minute change – your safety is our top priority,” Royal Caribbean International’s Assistant Vice President of Guest Experiences wrote in the communication to guests sailing on the April 14 sailing of Explorer of the Seas, the website reported.

Stops at Labadee have been replaced with visits to Perfect Day at CocoCay, another Royal Caribbean-operated resort. Other itineraries have been rerouted to Grand Cayman, Bimini, Grand Turk and St. Maarten.

Royal Caribbean recently announced a temporary stop to calls on Labadee, located on the northern coast of Haiti. The U.S. State Department had previously issued an alert for Haiti, advising people not to visit the country due to the threat of “kidnapping, crime, civil unrest and poor health care infrastructure.” All family members of U.S. government employees and non-emergency personnel have been ordered to leave the country.

The resort in Labadee, first opened by Royal Caribbean in 1986, is located about 130 miles from the Haiti capital Port-au-Prince, the epi-center of gang violence. The U.S. State Department announced last week it had completed its first evacuation of American citizens from Port-au-Prince, transporting 15 people to Santo Domingo, t he capital of the Dominican Republic. Others were later evacuated on a plane chartered by the Florida Department of Emergency Management.

Labadee Shore Excursions Let You Live the Island Life

On Caribbean cruise itineraries that include Haiti, you’ll enjoy Labadee shore excursions that give you access to beautiful beaches, sensational snorkeling, smooth-sailing luxury yachts, and cruising catamarans, as well as opportunities to experience the warm hospitality of Haitian hosts and learn about Haiti’s history, traditions, and culture.

Labadee, Haiti shore excursions that let you escape to private beach resorts for a day of sun and fun are the perfect way to maximize your shore time while on your cruise to Labadee . Cruise via boat or catamaran to one of the island’s best resorts. At Paradise Cove, a white-sand beach awaits, where you can indulge your urge to do nothing more strenuous than sip a tropical cocktail. If you feel the need for activity, take a walk on the beach, a swim in the cool sapphire sea, or kayak along the shore.

Head to Amiga Island for a tranquil escape to one of the finest beaches on the island. From the moment you arrive, a super-attentive staff ensures that your wishes are granted. Swim, sunbathe, or snorkel in shallow waters among intricate coral formations and colorful tropical fish.

Immerse yourself in the rhythms of everyday Haitian life on guided Labadee shore excursions to the Haitian Village Experience, an authentic teaching village. Enjoy a welcome drink as you arrive. You’ll be treated to a different side of island life that captures Haitian traditions and family life. Hear traditional Haitian music, taste peanut butter made the traditional Haitian way, and watch traditional basket weaving and metal working.

For pure fun, Labadee shore excursions on board the catamaran “Island Time” are floating parties filled with joyous Caribbean music and tropical cocktails. You’ll be transported to a natural sandbar where you’re free to float on a beach mat and soak up the sun, swim in the calm, clear sea, or stroll the beach looking for interesting shells.

If you’ve always wanted to catch “the big one,” opportunity awaits on a sport-fishing trip that may make your fishing dreams come true. For this Caribbean shore excursion , no experience is necessary. A love of the sport is all you need. An experienced captain and crew will supply you with the gear to perhaps reel in a tuna, marlin, wahoo, or mahi-mahi. Whether you haul in a catch or not, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable day of breathtaking ocean, mountain, and coastline views.
