Kane Brown Shares The Drunk or Dreaming U.S. Tour Dates

by Jacob Uitti September 1, 2022, 11:56 am

Country star Kane Brown has been busy.

Videos by American Songwriter

Whether releasing his own cereal or new crossover hit single, Brown seemingly has more and more in the works. And the artist’s latest announcement is a new string of show dates set for spring 2023, called The Drunk or Dreaming Tour, which will include supporting acts Dustin Lynch, Gabby Barrett, and Lochs.

Brown, who was a recent American Songwriter cover star, shared the news on social media, taking to Twitter to announce the upcoming gigs to his 1.7 million followers. He wrote, “The Drunk or Dreaming U.S. Tour On sale Sept 9 – for presale access register now http://kanebrownmusic.com “

The new swath of shows kicks off on March 16 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and continues through Evansville, Indiana; Greenville, South Carolina; Columbus, Ohio; Lexington, Kentucky; Huntington, West Virginia; Knoxville, Tennessee; Nashville, Tennessee; and St. Augustine, Florida (for two nights); before concluding in Greenwood Village, Colorado on June 10.

In other recent news, Brown recently made history at the 2022 VMAs by becoming the first male country artist to perform on the award show . During the Sunday night broadcast (August 28), Brown performed his latest single, “Grand”—a fast-paced number that is his most pop-infused yet.

“People told him he wasn’t country enough,” Jack Harlow said as he introduced the singer before rattling off his long list of accolades. “Now he can make whatever type of music he damn well pleases.”

Brown is the first male country artist to perform on the show since it launched in 1984. Kacey Musgraves and Taylor Swift have also taken the VMA stage in recent years to represent the country world.

Kane Brown sings onstage.

Kane Brown does things a little bit differently at live shows.

The country star, who has just 15 concerts remaining on his 2023 ‘Drunk or Dreaming Tour,’ doesn’t just perform by himself.

No, at a recent gig, the “Different Man” singer pulled a young fan onstage for a duet of his hit single “Thank God” to the delight of adoring fans.

And if you want to see what magic Brown has up his sleeve for the final shows he has scheduled this year including one at Canandaigua, NY’s Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center on July 9, you can still pick them up before it’s too late.

Better yet, you won’t need to go broke seeing the country/hip-hop crossover star live either.

At the time of publication, some tickets were going for as low as $31 before fees on Vivid Seats.

Not a bad price to sing along to hits like “Saturday Nights,” “Heaven,” “What Ifs,” “One Thing Right,” “Be Like That” and so many more live.

Want to catch Kane Brown’s ‘Drunk or Dreaming Tour’ before it’s too late?

Here’s everything you need to know and more.

All prices listed above are subject to fluctuation.

A complete calendar including all ‘Drunk or Dreaming’ tour dates, venues and the cheapest tickets available can be found below.

(Note: The New York Post confirmed all above prices at the publication time. All prices are in US dollars, subject to fluctuation and include additional fees at checkout .)

Vivid Seats is a verified secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They offer a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and your tickets will be delivered prior to the event.

On the heels of his historic MTV VMA performance as the first male country artist to perform on the show, Multi-Platinum, 5X AMA award-winning entertainer Kane Brown today announced his Drunk or Dreaming Tour will arrive in the US next year. Produced by AEG Presents, the US tour includes a two-night stop at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Friday, June 2 & Saturday, June 3.

The new tour follows the success of Brown’s Blessed & Free Tour in which he visited all 29 NBA basketball arenas, making the “breakthrough entertainer” (AP) the first country artist in history to headline every NBA basketball arena in a single tour and one of only 10 other country acts to sell-out Los Angeles Crypto.com Center (formerly Staples Center) in the venue’s history.

The Pollstar, American Songwriter and Billboard Cover artist Brown’s highly anticipated new album, Different Man , will be released on September 9th. The album features his current hit, “Like I Love Country Music,” his #1 hit, “One Mississippi" and his new single, “Grand.”

Is there space in the nearly interchangeable roster of current country music stars for Kane Brown?

REVIEW: Kane Brown's Drunk or Dreaming Tour thrilled fans at Rogers Place Back to video

If there isn’t then there needs to be, at least if the audience at Sunday night’s concert at Rogers Place has anything to say about the matter. Brown has been making the case for superstardom since 2017, and now — with his third full-length album, this year’s Different Man — he’s securing it.

The 29-year-old is doing it on his Drunk or Dreaming tour with the tried-and-tested formula of country tropes and arena-rock showmanship put to full use on opener Pull It Off, an unabashed mid-tempo rocker all stuttering guitar and lust, fire and smoke. It wasn’t long before he was bowing to the tropes of more recent country music, however. But instead of focusing on those daisy dukes, he’s more interested in another piece of clothing (Short Skirt Weather), paying homage to his upbringing (Hometown), and genuflecting at the altar of ‘90s country while namechecking Alan Jackson and Brooks & Dunn (Like I Love Country Music).

It’s pretty innocuous stuff, played with energy and a lot of audience interaction, musical puzzle pieces reconfigured and buffed for a new generation. You could make a case that it’s both authentically Nashville and authentically country as it currently stands. By that I mean practically every song has a long list of writers attached to it, tested for maximum radio appeal, and that they reflect exactly what Brown would have heard growing up in the 2000s: rock, pop, hip hop, dancehall, new country and even a small gloss of ‘70s twang.

That eclecticism is what makes him interesting, not so much the songwriting. The world’s a much better place when Sean Kingston, Ben E. King and George Jones are slotted together in the tribute section of a country music show, as Brown did with an a cappella read on Jones’s Ol’ Red (introduced as a Blake Shelton song) and a snatch of Kingston’s Beautiful Girls, King’s Stand By Me tumbling out the other side in surprise. The through line is jealousy and crime, the musical line wavering as it should in an era where people aren’t quite so hung up on purism. It makes you wonder what would have happened if Merle Haggard had decided to follow up one of his Bob Wills covers with a sideways version of a Sly Stone song? Probably more than what actually happened last night, but at least those straightjacket rules have loosened.

Brown had a lot to talk about on Sunday night. And the truth is, as a poor, biracial kid growing up in Georgia he does have a story worth listening to. A few crowd members were tuning out at that point, but he had them back with a blasting version of Crank That by Soulja Boy. He’s got a rich and adaptable voice, Brown does, whether snapping out hip-hop lines or sinking in a swamp of fiddle, banjo and electric guitar on Bury Me in Georgia.

With an hour to showcase herself, direct support Jessie James Decker had more time to work with than most openers do. She filled it with a handful of mid-tempo original songs like Almost Over You and her current single I Still Love You, sung in a strong and brassy voice, plus a lot of stage banter. Decker turned a considerable section of the show over to her talented band, which meant snippets of easy-to-please fan favourites like Sweet Emotion, Come Together and Don’t Stop Believing, followed by her own cover of Old Town Road. Fun if you like that kind of stuff, but not particularly memorable.

Multi-Platinum singer/songwriter and 5X American Music Award Winner Kane Brown  is bringing the Drunk or Dreaming Tour with special guests Chris Lane and Mackenzie Porter to Budweiser Gardens on Saturday, December 3rd!

Named “the future of country music” (Billboard), Brown first broke onto the scene with the arrival of his self-titled, 2X Platinum debut album (2016), where he became the first artist ever to lead all five of Billboard ’s main country charts simultaneously. His debut effort, Kane Brown, topped the Billboard Top Country Albums chart for 13 weeks and garnered 7X Platinum-certified hits “Heaven” and “What Ifs”-the fourth and seventh most-streamed country songs of all time (U.S. Nielsen Country On-Demand Streams chart). With the release of his follow up album Experiment (2018), Brown became the only male country artist in more than 24 years to have his sophomore album debut at the top the Billboard 200. The Platinum certified album yielded three consecutive No. 1 Multi-Platinum certified hits “Lose It,” “Good As You” and “Homesick.” Following Experiment, Brown released his multi-song project Mixtape Vol. 1 - which earned Brown an ACM Award nomination for Album of the Year (2021) and an ACM win for “Video of the Year.” A CMA, ACM, Billboard, AMA and People’s Choice Award nominee, Brown has collaborated with numerous artists including Grammy and Academy Award winning singer-songwriter H.E.R. (“Blessed & Free,”) DJ Marshmello (2X Platinum “One Thing Right”), Khalid and Swae Lee (Platinum “Be Like That”), “blackbear (“Memory”), Nelly (Platinum “Cool Again”), John Legend (“Last Time I Say Sorry”), Camila Cabello (“Never Be The Same” remix), Brooks & Dunn (“Believe” the super duo’s Reboot album) and Becky G. (“Lost In The Middle Of Nowhere” Spanish remix). Brown’s most recent collaboration, “Famous Friends” with Chris Young, became Billboard ’s 2021 year-end No. 1 Country Airplay Song and earned a CMT Award for “Collaborative Video of the Year.” Recently named as one of Time’s 100 most influential people in the world, Kane Brown has ascended from social media notability to become one of country music’s most accomplished mainstays with seven chart-topping No. 1 singles to his name, including his latest hit, “One Mississippi.” Written by Brown, Matt McGinn, Taylor Phillips, and Jordan Schmidt Brown’s new single “Like I Love Country Music” is available Friday (5/6) and, along with “One Mississippi” is part of Brown’s upcoming new album expected later this year.
