You Can Now Get A Digital Version Of Your UAE Visa, And Here’s How!

To receive a copy of their visa page, citizens may use an online service. In April, the UAE announced that Emirates ID will be consider as the main proof of residency for the expatriates in the country, instead of the stamped residence visa. But if you are wondering how you will get a residence visa copy for your official paperwork? Here’s the complete guide for getting your UAE visa digital version.

How To Get An Official Copy Of Residence Visa Sticker?

Through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) app, ‘UAEICP,’ you may get a copy of your resident visa. You just need to register with the IP’s smartphone app, called “UAEICP,” which is compatible with Apple and Android smartphones, to achieve this. If you have one, you may sign in to the app using your UAEPass account.

Once the programme is open, your papers will be listed under the icon in the bottom centre that looks like a document folder. Your Emirates ID and residency visa of the UAE page will appear after you touch the symbol. Documents for any dependents (such as family members) for whom you are the sponsor will also appear in your account.

UAE visit visa: Essential travel documents for a hassle-free entry

Living in uae.

Coming to the UAE for a summer break? Three things to ensure before you land

DUBAI AIRPORT RAIN

Dubai: Planning to visit the UAE for a quick summer break? If you are travelling to the country on a tourist or visit visa, what are the documents you need to carry, apart from your passport?

Gulf News spoke with travel and tourism experts in the UAE to clarify all the arrangements you need to have in place before you land.

1. secure your return flight ticket.

Husham Kattingeri, an outbound travel supervisor at Regal Tours Worldwide, spoke about how tourists should always have a return ticket in place, regardless of which country they are visiting.

“The first thing that is compulsory for anybody, not just in the UAE but anywhere in the world, is that you must show a return ticket, either to your home country or even if it is to another country, as long as you have a valid visa for that country. That means that a ticket out of UAE must be there, you cannot have a one-way ticket,” Kattingeri said.

2. Consider carrying cash

Kattingeri said that regardless of which country you travel to, it is advisable to carry sufficient amount cash, to cover for your expenses when travelling.

“It is better to have some amount of money with you, which you will need anyway during your trip. It helps,” he said.

3. Hotel booking confirmation (optional, but beneficial)

Nizar Pulappadi, manager at Season Travel and Tourism, added that while in most cases you may not be asked for any such details, it is important to know exactly where you are going to stay.

If you have a relative or friend, all you need to do is carry their passport copy and visa page, as supporting documents, in case you are asked about where you are going to stay. - Nizar Pulappadi, manager at Season Travel and Tourism

“If a person is a visit visa holder, and they don’t have any relatives or friends in the UAE, it is important to have a hotel booking. But if you do have a relative or friend, all you need to do is carry their passport copy and visa page, as supporting documents, in case you are asked about where you are going to stay. It is also important to communicate clearly, so if you are asked by an officer where you are going to stay, provide a clear address or the area in which your friend or relative stays,” Pulappadi said.

Visiting Dubai? Online Application Now Mandatory For Pre-Approved Visas For Indians

I ndian citizens who are eligible for the 14-day pre-approved visa-on-arrival in Dubai will first need to apply for the service online. Indian passport holders who have a valid six-month US, US Green Card, EU Residency, or UK Residency visa have been given exclusive access to this service.

The visa can also be extended for 14 additional days but that can only be done once. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) said that passengers will have to present a valid passport, travel documents, a permanent residence card from the US or UK and their photograph to avail the service.

Here’s how those eligible can apply online for pre-approved visa-on-arrival:

  • Log in to the GDRFA website
  • Fill in your details
  • Pay fees (approx. Dirham 253)

The visa process is typically completed within 48 hours, and applicants will receive an email notification once their visa is approved.

Air carrier Emirates also announced an exclusive partnership with VFS Global to introduce a pre-approved visa on arrival service for Indian passport holders travelling with the airline. This new initiative which was also facilitated by the Dubai Visa Processing Centre (DVPC), which offers the 14-day single entry visa, will allow Emirates customers to bypass queues upon arrival in Dubai.

The UAE's Golden Visa programme, offering certain categories of expats long-term residency without needing a sponsor. This programme is designed to attract and retain talented individuals, investors, and other key contributors in the Emirates.

The Golden Visa provides exclusive benefits and is available for various groups, including:

  • Entrepreneurs
  • Talents, scholars, and specialists
  • Top students and graduates
  • Pioneers of humanitarian work
  • First line of defence personnel

Stay up to date with the latest news. Follow KT on WhatsApp Channels.

The residency permits are valid for either 5 or 10 years, depending on the category with the aim to encourage individuals to live, work, invest, and study in the UAE, while enjoying exclusive benefits which include:

1. Multiple-entry visa: Foreigners seeking UAE Golden Visa can get a multi-entry permit to finalise the procedures in the Emirates.

2. Renewable residence visa: The Golden residency includes a renewable 5- or 10-year residence visa, depending on the category.

3. Extended stay outside UAE: Previously, all UAE residents were required to return to the country within six months of exiting. If a resident stayed outside the UAE for longer than six months, their residency visa could be deemed invalid. However, Golden Visa holders can stay outside the country for a period exceeding 6 months without needing to re-enter the country within that time frame.

4. No need for a sponsor: There is no need for a guarantor or sponsor within the country for Golden Visa holders.

5. Family residency permits: 10-year visa allows the issuance of residence permits to family members, including the spouse and children. The age limit for sponsored children has been increased from 18 to 25 years, and there is no age restriction for unmarried daughters. Residence permits are granted to children of determination, regardless of their age.

6. Unlimited support service workers: There is no maximum limit on the number of support service workers or house helps a Golden Visa holder can recruit.

7. Family member residency after death: Family members can remain in the UAE for the duration of their residency in the event of the death of the breadwinner holding the Golden residency.
