Tasos 2024. (autobus), o destinaciji.

Svojom raskošnom lepotom i bujnom vegetacijom, borovim šumama, fenomenalnim peščanim plažama, nestvarno plavo tirkiznim morem i skrivenim uvalama, magični Tasos je neodoljiv. Ostrvo je bogato arheološkim nalazištima, maslinjacima, najzelenijom prirodom a zastupljen je i seoski turizam. Manastir Arhangela Mihaila iz XII veka, odakle se pruža veličanstven pogled, nalazi se na samoj litici na jugoistoku ostrva i okrenut je ka planini Atos.

LIMENAS  -  Luka, glavni grad, važan turistički centar sa bogatom istorijom. U Limenasu, modernom gradu sa tradicionalnim duhom , možete provesti nezaboravan odmor. Manja gradska, lepo uređena peščana plaža ima sve što je potrebno, a malo atraktivnija i udaljena oko 1 km od centra je plaža Tarsanas. U laganoj šetnji ovim gradom možete naići na iskopine arheoloških nalazišta, doći do arheološkog muzeja u blizini stare luke, a popločane ulice vode do prepunih prodavnica suvenira, bakalnica, taverni i tardicionalnih proizvoda kao što su med, masline, čajevi.

LIMENARIA  -  Nalazi se na jugu ostrva, sa plažom dugom dva kilometra i postepenim ulaskom u vodu. Ovaj gradić ima dosta prodavnica, marketa, taverni i restorana, a šetalištem je povezan sa Potosom. Ispod impozantnog zdanja Palataki koje je okruženo borovom šumom, a u blizini centra Limenarije, nalazi se plaža Metalia iznad koje su u mermeru isklesani simboli horoskopskih znakova. Ukoliko želite da obradujete sebe ili neku dragu osobu možete prošetati do Iris zlatare, koja se nalazi na oko 30 minuta šetnje od Limenarije ka Tripiti plaži.

POTOS  -  Potos je manje ribarsko mesto, ali urbano i popularno, sa velikim brojem kafića i barova duž cele ulice uz more gde možete čuti razne žanrove muzike i dobro se provesti. Peščana plaža sa čistim morem i delovima sa prirodnim hladom učiniće boravak prijatnijim. Ima dobro snabdevenih marketa, ribarnicu, mesaru, tezge sa svežim voćem i povrćem kao i nekoliko butika odeće.

SKALA POTAMIA - Na istoku ostrva, gde je najfiniji zlatan pesak i jedna od najlepših plaža, nalazi se Skala Potamia, mesto gde ćete  doživeti savršenu harmoniju i odmor iz snova. Neizostavna borova šuma, maslinjaci, idealan prirodni sklad zelenila, obronci planine Ipsario i smaragdna boja mora čine ovo mesto očaravajućim. Postepen ulaz u kristalno čistu vodu najviše će obradovati porodice sa decom, gde mogu nesmetano da uživaju u svemu što nudi Golden Beach.

Thasos , sometimes spelled Thassos ( Greek : Θάσος), is a Greek Island tourist destination in the North Aegean Islands group, close to Kavala .

Understand [ edit ]

Thasos is a green, mountainous island with many picturesque bays and sandy beaches. The landscape is similar to Chalkidiki or Sithonia . It is an ideal holiday destination for families and people who want to relax at wonderful and not overcrowded beaches. There are a number of interesting antiquities to visit and there are enough beach-bars and clubs for entertainment and night life. A fire in September 2016 destroyed parts of the forests but this does not affect its beauty as a top holiday destination. In general the east side is much more crowded than the west side. People who like to have more space on the beach are better off with the west side, while those who want more action the east side is the better choice.

History [ edit ]

Earliest settlements are known from the Neolithic era. About 1500 BC, Thasos was taken by the Phoenicians, and by their knowledge in metallurgy, they were the first to exploit the mineral resources of the island. The island was then taken over by the Thracians until the Greek Ionian tribe displaced the Thracians in the 7th century BC. Gold and silver mining and trade flourished during this time and brought prosperity to the island. In 492 BC, the Persians conquered the island, which led to an economic decline. In 464 - 404 BC, Thasos was occupied by Athens and served as a colony of wood and metal supplies. 340 BC Philip II, king of the Macedonians, took over Thasos. In the period from 281 - 202 BC, Thasos was independent, until it was connected to the Roman Empire in 196 BC. After the division of the Roman Empire, it belonged to the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine Empire) from 330 AD. In 1455 AD, Thasos passed over to the Turks and was freed by Greek troops by 1912 in the Balkan War. In the Second World War, Thasos and larger parts of northern Greece were handed over by the Wehrmacht to Bulgaria, who had to leave these areas with war dead.

Get in [ edit ]

• Since Thasos does not have its own airport, the connection runs through the airport Kavala (near Chrysoupolis). From there it is 12 km to the ferry at the village Keramoti (ferry time Keramoti-Limenas, 45 min). By taxi the way from the airport to the ferry costs about €20, to Kavala the cost is €40. The bus connection is bad.
• From Thessaloniki Airport , there is a bus to the KTEL Macedonia bus station (1 hour), which is the bus station for intercity buses. From there, buses go to Kavala (2½ hours) every hour. From Kavala you either take a ferry to Thasos or a bus from the bus station to Keramoti (1 hour) and from there by ferry to Thasos. Alternatively, go by rental car from Thessaloniki Airport to Kavala/Keramoti (2½-3 hr). Some car hire companies from Thasos also have rental cars at the airport. Many cars rented on the mainland are not allowed to go onto the islands.
• Ferries : There are 2 ferries for vehicles and passengers to Thasos 1) Kavala-Scala Prinos (1½ hours, one-way adult ticket €6 as of August 2020) and 2) Keramoti-Thasos Town (Limenas) (45 minutes). The timetables vary depending on the season. Since the island is close to the mainland, the ferry costs are comparatively low, so that many weekenders and camper vans visit the island. In addition to normal ferries, a high-speed hydrofoil operates only for passengers between Kavala and Thasos City (Limenas).

Get around [ edit ]

The island has one main road which circles the perimeter. There is a bus service [dead link] during summer. Taxis are common and can be called from most restaurants, bars and supermarkets (taxis after midnight need to be booked in advance). Car and bike hire is possible from many of the larger towns and villages. To really see the interesting parts of the island, especially the mountain villages, a car or motorbike is needed. Normal cars are not allowed on dirt roads but some of the nice beaches an attractions can be reached on dirt roads only. Hire a 4WD at least for the days you want to go off-road.

Most tourists rent a car at least for one day to explore the island. As there is only one ring road the villages are described starting from Thasos town clockwise. From the main ring road the mountain villages can be reached via side roads or dead-end roads. If you visit the main attractions only a tour takes from 4-6 hr.

• 40.7762 24.7041 1 Thasos ( Θάσος, also known as Limenas , Λιμένας ). The largest village on the island with the harbor for ferry boats to Keramoti and is deep enough for sailing boats and offering power connection too. Visit the old fishing harbour with the customs building and a beach with beach bars. Continue the walk to reach the viewpoint called “Karnagio” with an old chapel and a nice restaurant to sit. Nearby the old harbour are the ruins of the ancient city and the Archeology and Ethnology Museum. From the old port take a walk to the Amphitheater and ahead to the Acropolis and a castle ruin. The ascent is a bit difficult, but well worthwhile because of the fantastic views. In the center of Limenas are commercial streets with souvenir shops, restaurants, fast food, police, banks, travel agencies and some nightlife. The beachfront Agios Vassillios Chapel, about 200 meters west of the ferry port, is also worth a visit. Behind the chapel is an archaeological excavation area with remains of cemetery, tower, temple, chapel. ( updated Sep 2019 )

• 40.7278 24.7571 3 Scala Panagia ( Σκάλα Παναγία ). It consists solely of a cluster of hotels, campgrounds, restaurants, and more lining the exquisite "Golden Beach," renowned as Thasos' premier coastal destination. No central hub exists here; instead, visitors can find everything they desire. Towards the northern tip of the beach lies a charming, picturesque fishing harbor, which serves as the departure point for various excursion boats. However, the harbor isn't ideal for sailboats, particularly in windy conditions, as the anchors can be problematic due to the presence of seagrass. A "must-see" mountain village with old, mostly renovated houses and a very beautiful central square under plane trees with restaurants. It is delightfully cool even on the hottest summer days. On the right side of the road to Georgios and Rachoni lie the ruins of an old watermill. It is located between the two villages and is not easy to find in the bushes but well worth seeing. • 4WD off-road tours . Renting a 4WD off-road vehicle, you can reach some very interesting places that are prohibited for normal rental cars. Described are the sights in the respective places. Beaches : Saliara, Marbel, Vathi, Salonikos. Rachoni : Chapel; Megalos Prinos : Chapel; Kalirachi : Chapel; Maries : Waterfall, Mount Ipsaron; Theologos : Restaurant Neromilos; Aliki : Tower of Thimonia. If you only want to be on the road for one day, you should head for Maries and Kalirachi.  
• Hiking . Thasos is suitable not only for swimming but also offers many scenic walking tracks. Especially in the fall and in the spring when it is not so hot, many tourists use this alternative to beach life. There are local shops to buy hiking equipment and maps. For those who don't like to walk on their own in the mountains there are also organized tours. Information can be found in the Internet under "walk on Thasos". Popular trails are: * From Limenas to Makriamos and further to the Golden Beach (4 hr, 13 km, mostly flat) * From Potos to Theologos (3 hr, 10 km, slightly ascending) * From Theologos to Kastro (2 hr, 6 km, steep climb) * From Maries to the lake and waterfall (1 hr, 3 km, mostly flat) * From Ag. • Water sports . are available at many organized beaches. There are boats, jet skis, banana boats and water parachutes available. ( updated Feb 2018 )
• Cave climbing , [email protected] . There are many ancient tunnels and mines. Thasos was famous for gold, iron, manganese mining in older times. The tunnels are just abandoned and should only be entered with extreme caution. There is some special literature about the mines also describing their exact locations. • Boat tours . Tours to the most beautiful beaches or once around the island start from the old port in Thasos/Limenas (10:00-18:30, €30 with stops for swimming and barbeque) or from Limenaria and Potos port. Ancient sites tour [ edit ]

It is recommended to visit the ancient sites of the island in 2 tours in Thasos town and 1 in Aliki and Thimonia. The first leads up to the Acropolis of Thasos town and is also recommended for people who are less interested in ruin sites, because of the beautiful landscape and the wonderful vantage points. The second tour stays within the village and is less spectacular.

1) Thasos Town

Tour 1 : It starts in the immediate vicinity of the old 40.7808 24.7131 1 war harbor at the 40.7798 24.7122 2 Agora , the economic center of the ancient city, a kind of marketplace with shops, religious and cultural sites. Even if only the foundation walls and a few pillars are present, the agora is the most interesting ancient area in the center. Directly following the agora are the 40.7802 24.7147 3 passages , a stone walled access from the residential quarters to the agora, the 40.7784 24.7129 4 Odeion , a small 2nd-century theater. and the 40.7798 24.7149 5 Arthemis Shrine from early Hellenistic times. From the agora you go northeast passing the 40.78073 24.71424 6 District of Dionisos , the 40.7815 24.71435 7 Sanctuary of the Poseidon and Wagon Gate , the 40.7823 24.71531 8 eastern residential area and Chariten Tor slowly uphill under shady trees towards the headland. There stands the very photogenic 40.78533 24.71578 9 St. Nicholas Chapel on the foundations of a 5th-century basilica. The view from there of the landscape and the sea is breathtaking. Below the chapel you can see the beach bar Karnagio. From here, the trail now leads steeper and much more strenuous uphill to the 40.7821 24.7177 10 Theater from the 3rd century with beautiful views of Thasos. Performances take place here during the summer months. Further above is the 40.7781 24.7197 11 Akropolis . In 1204, the Venetians built a castle in the eastern part of the Acropolis out of the ruins of the temples there, whose ruins are hidden between trees and barely visible from the village. If one follows the path one reaches the 40.7768 24.718 12 Sanctuary of Athena . Only the foundations of the 5th century BC are left of the temple. Nevertheless, the path is worth it, as the view of Thasos and the surrounding mountains makes up for the effort. A narrow pawn leads east to 40.7763 24.7172 13 cave sanctuary of the Pan from the 4th century BC. Again, it is more the view that is worthwhile. From here you go back to the city.

Tour 2 : It can be done well in less than 1 hour as you stay within the flat area of Thasos town and is really worthwhile only for people really interested in ancient ruins. It's best to start from the 40.77882 24.70912 14 Early Christian Basilica . If you follow the road away from the coast you will reach the 40.77792 24.71007 15 Hercules (Heracles) Sanctuary . Here too, only the foundations of temples and buildings from the 5th or 6th century BC are preserved. Now follow the signs along the Pier de Vambez road to the 40.7755 24.7091 16 Gate of Zeus and Hera past the remains of an Arch of Honor for Emperor Caracalla. The Gate of Zeus is the most elaborate and best preserved gate of the city, but also almost exclusively preserved as foundations. From there one arrives at the interesting remainders of the south wall to the 40.7744 24.7128 17 Silent Tor that is quite well preserved. From here it goes back towards the harbour.

Tour: 3 starts in Aliki. The entrance to the archeologic site is free and you can explore the place walking on market trails. The archeological site of Aliki includes the ancient 40.60124 24.73958 18 marble quarry , the remains of an ancient settlement, a double sanctuary and two paleochristian basilicas. The 40.60503 24.74243 19 ancient settlement of which only the ground walls remained is on the opposite site of the taverns. An interesting inscribed sarcophagus is worth to see. Following the path uphill for about 50 m you reach out at the 40.60338 24.74285 20 ancient sanctuary . The remains of the sanctuary consist of two constructions with both ionic and doric architectural elements build during the 6th-5th centuries BC. dedicated to god Apollo as protectors of ships and sailors. At the stairs that are at the facade of the sanctuary, there are inscribed names of many sailors that had arrived at the island in order to ship marble. The sanctuary was abandoned during the early Byzantine era, with Christianity becoming the dominant religion. The two churches were built in the 5th century AD and destroyed by an earthquake. Going from Aliki about 1 km towards Limenaria the 40.6066 24.7172 21 Ancient Tower of Thimonia is signposted. A field road leads up to the tower that needs good ground clearance if you drive up or walk for 10 min. The ruined Hellenistic tower was probably part of an ancient settlement but no excavations have taken place an the knowledge about this place is very limited. The nice view from the tower is more worth than the ruins itself.

Mining site tours [ edit ]

The mining on Thasos can look back on a highly developed metallurgy that began about three and a half thousand years ago and thus plays a significant role in the Aegean region. Probably in the late Bronze Age, beginning at the latest in the early Iron Age, took place an intensive and until the Byzantine period ongoing ore smelting. The ores mined in tunnels and open-pit mining contributed to the wealth of the island in ancient times and are an important part of the history of the island. Unfortunately, the wealth also aroused greed and so in the history of the island mostly foreign powers exploited the ores. Some former open pit areas are easily accessible and today interesting and photogenic "lost places". Also galleries are accessible, but only with a local guide to recommend and experience walking in caves and only with appropriate equipment.

• Metalia Beach . The beach at Limenaria with its metal industry ruins is one of the must see attractions in Thasos. The German industrialist Friedrich Speidel succeeded in 1903 in lengthy negotiations by the Turkish Sultanate to obtain a license to exploit the zinc-lead-silver-ore deposits on Thasos. The ores (400-500 tons per day) were mined mainly in open pit about 2 km NE from Metalia beach (Vouves), transported by a mine railway and in the four round shaft kilns (which you can still see today), processed and then shipped. In the ruins of the halls on the beach were ore mills, wet processing, electrical center and rolling mills. The installations were occupied by French troops at the beginning of the First World War and plundered as enemy German assets, destroying the buildings. The management building (Palataki) and various outbuildings were preserved and served as a war hospital for English officers. In the 1960s Metalia was then used as a loading point for iron-manganese ores for the company Krupp. With the help of an EC funding program (€600,000), a mining park and museum was to be built on the site from 2000 onwards. Owing to the usual corruption and nepotism in Greece, the money unfortunately collapsed and so everything is left to decay. ( updated Aug 2019 )
• 40.6348 24.5932 28 Vouves . The lead-silver ore opencast mining 2 km northeast of Limenaria with tunnels was in operation since ancient times. Old tunnels can still be seen today in the large open pit mine from 1903 to 1914. About 350 m before the entrance to Metalia Beach (coming from Limenaria) leads a dirt road to the open pit 2 km away. • 40.6614 24.6093 29 Iron ore open pit Mavrolako . From Limenaria the road branches off behind Kalivia to Maries and Kastro. From this junction, drive 3.5 km towards Kastro and then turn left into a wide dirt road. After about 300 m you reach the first construction ruins of the former opencast mine. The landscape there has the typical rust of iron ore and forms a photogenic contrast with the green of the vegetation. The mining was discontinued in the early 1960s. ( updated Sep 2019 )

The east and south sides of the island have many picturesque bays and popular sandy beaches, while the west side has more elongated, lonely, rocky beaches, but also beautiful sandy ones. For people who are looking for nudist beaches , Thasos is a good destination too. In the following, only the best known beaches are listed. There are still many bays and beaches to discover.

It's a must-see location and probably the nicest beach of the island! After 600 m you reach the Marble Bay . Its a white marble sand bay which was used for the shipment of marble, with crystal clear waters and a unique but loud beach bar. Its also a must-see location. In the high season often overcrowded. After 2 km you will come to Vathi Bay . It is also a romantic bay but with a luxury hotel that have their sunbeds along the crystal clear water front. From there a dirt roads leads to Golden Beach. Its a long, wide sandy beach hemmed with hotels, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and a camping site. Crowded in high season. Good water quality. Drink [ edit ]

Centres for night life are Limenas, Limenaria and especially Potos where younger people like to meet. Most of the bars and beach bars organize themed nights, beach parties, etc., which are announced on posters in the hotels or in the places. Very popular "Greek Nights" are offered by some big hotels and some restaurants and pubs (check postings).

• Thasos has few bigger hotel complexes but a large number of small hotels, guest houses and private rooms , which are listed in the well known internet hotel search sites and evaluated. The more lively and crowded east side and Potos attract more younger tourists, while older guests often prefer the quieter west side from Limenaria onwards.
• There are several camping sites: in Scala Prinos, between Prinos and Scala Sotiros (Camping Daedalos), AstroCamping in the mountains, Camping Pefkari, Camping at Golden Beach in Scala Panagia.

Stay safe [ edit ]

• There is no danger for tourists, so you can move freely anywhere. Only take care of pickpocketing.
• Medical Care : There is no hospital in Thasos, but a "Health Center" in Prinos from the patient will be relocated to the Kavala Hospital for more serious illnesses. Medical practices (including dentist, orthopedist, cardiologist and general practitioner) can be found in Limenas and Limenaria.
• The drinking water quality is controlled, but differs from village to village. It is usually safer to use bottled water for drinking.
• Snakes : there is a poisonous snake that lives mainly in the mountains, often on stony terrain or in holes in walls, between rocks etc. (horned viper) It is very poisonous! Therefore, you should pay attention to good footwear and clothing, if you want to go off the beaten track and generally be careful with walls in abandoned houses and land.

An advantage of Thasos is the close distance to the main land what makes day trips easy.

• Kavala : often visited by ferry boat from Scala Prinos at Saturday morning as a day trip when Kavala's big and colorfull market (bazar) at the promenade is open (07:30-13:00, best visit time before 11:00, as it gets very busy later). The famous archaeological site of Philippi can be reached by bus from Kavala bus terminal Ktel , close to the bazaar. The best way to do this day trip is by taking the first ferry from Scala Prinos to Kavala and back on the afternoon ferry or back by bus to Keramoti and from there on one of the many later ferries. At the Aquadukt in Kavala you can also rent scooters and thus easily reach the sights outside the city center.
• Nestos -Delta and Nestos-Gorge : natural reserve areas of stunning beauty reachable by bus from Keramoti or but better by car as a day trip,
• Pangaion Hills : the Pangaio is with almost 2000 m the highest mountain in the Kavala area, with picturesque mountain villages, a multitude of monasteries and impressive vegetation. As a day trip from Thasos a car is necessary to reach the points of interest in a reasonable time.
• Drama . Provincial town but a good place to start an excursion to the Rhodope Mountains , wild, almost deserted natural landscape on the Bulgarian border.
• Xanthi : famous for its Old Town with many pubs and restaurants and night life
• Samothrace -Island: using public transport you go by bus from Kavala Ktel to Alexandroupolis where the ferry to Samothrace starts

Due to its geographical position, Thassos has a shorter summer than the rest of the Greek Islands; however, the average temperatures all year round are pretty pleasant, and winters are not so harsh .

How To Get To The Island Of Thassos

The easiest way to get to Thassos is by ferry since there are two ports on the island.

The port in Limenas, the capital of Thassos, receives ferries traveling the route Thassos-Keramoti daily, and the trip lasts about 25 minutes. Especially in summer, there are connections to mainland Greece every 15-30 minutes. Ferries departing from Kavala arrive at the port of Skala Prinos. This trip is about 1.5 hours.

If you’re considering traveling by plane, keep in mind that this could prove more complicated than you expect. The island of Thassos doesn’t have a commercial airport. However, it is possible to get to the Kavala airport and, from there, board a ferry. Kavala airport receives daily flights from Athens and some international flights from the rest of Europe in summer.

When is the best time to visit thassos.

As we have mentioned, the summers in Thassos are not as long as in other Greek destinations. Therefore, the best time to visit Thassos is in the summer months, from June to September, if you want to enjoy a seaside vacation .

Suppose you prefer to visit before the beginning of summer (April-May) or at the end of the season (October). In that case, you will undoubtedly enjoy the island’s even more relaxed atmosphere, its gorgeous landscapes, and more accommodation availability. You’ll need to remember that packing an extra light jacket is not a bad idea.

Summer In Thassos

The summers in Thassos are lovely, with mild weather that’s not as hot as other Greek destinations. The average temperatures reach about 35 degrees C – not nearly as unbearable as temperatures in the southern Greek islands can get during daytime. The days are almost all the same, with hardly a cloud in the sky.

Ferries to the mainland quadruple, locals are out and about, and the island is full of life.

The sea temperatures are still cool in June, but they reach their highest temperature in July and August. 

If you love busy streets, full restaurants, and a vibrant atmosphere, summer is perfect on Thassos. However, keep in mind that prices do soar during the summer months, especially during August.

Winter In Thassos

Winters are chilly and windy, with nighttime temps falling below zero C, yet typically dry. However, each year, some snow can fall, not just in the mountains but also on the beaches. 

Island life is slow and quiet in the winter months, with locals preferring to stay indoors for rest after a busy tourist season. This means roads are not congested, but it also means fewer restaurants or activities are open. However, Limenas and Limenaria are towns worth visiting in the winter, as the local youth enjoy venturing to these spots, so more places are open.

Spring In Thassos

Temperatures start to rise in Spring, and everything on the island is in bloom.

This season is a favorite of locals and is perfect for any outdoor enthusiast. It’s the perfect time to hike, climb, mountain bike, and explore the outdoors. However, sea temperatures are still low, so swimming is not as popular in spring.

Many restaurants and taverns have started to reopen, and the streets have begun to see a little more activity, so you will indeed find places to grab a bite fairly easily. Accommodation prices are also very reasonable as it is not the start of the busy season yet.

Autumn In Thassos

The weather remains warm in autumn, and the sea retains the heat of summer. In fact, September is the absolute best time to swim in Thassos, with calm waters and light winds. Even a sunny day in late October can prove perfect for a dip in the ocean. However, you can expect more rain during the autumn season than either spring or summer. 

Crowds wind down during the autumn, but they are not completely gone, which means restaurants and taverns are still open and serving. 

With the high season winding down, accommodation prices are lower in autumn, making it an excellent time for budget travel.

Thassos is a reasonably small Greek Island where road travel can be rewarding and, at the same time, not tiring. There is one main circular road that takes you around the island. The Archaeological Museum of Thassos, situated next to the ancient market (Agora), features an essential collection of important objects found on the island in different archaeological sites. These include traditional pottery, sculptures, ancient coins, and even intricate jewelry pieces.

Ancient Theater Of Thassos

Maybe the most important and best-preserved archaeological site to check on the island is the Ancient Theater. It is built inside a natural cavity on a hill in Limenas, and it can be visited as you make your way up to the Acropolis .

The marble structure changed over the centuries to accommodate different types of exhibitions; for instance, the orchestra area was made into an arena during the first century AD to host duels.

Acropolis Of Thassos

The ancient Acropolis of Thassos, surrounded by armored marble walls, is located on a hill overlooking the ancient market . The remains of the imposing wall of Thassos’ Acropolis were used to secure the town, its inhabitants, and its treasures. 

To reach the Acropolis, you need to ascend a hill. If you do it in summer, remember to carry water and to wear comfortable shoes . The way up offers stunning scenery of lush woods and the blue of the sea. Among the remarkable things to check are the Sanctum of Pana and a fifth-century temple dedicated to the goddess Athena .

Monastery & Convent Of Archangel Michael

The most popular and visited site in Thassos is the gorgeous Monastery of Archangel Michael. It is situated in a privileged location on the slope of a cliff, offering breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea and Mount Athos in the distance.

The monastery is located a few minutes from the village of Theologos on the southeastern part of the island, about 33 km from the capital of Limenas. It was probably built sometime between the eleventh and twelfth centuries and functions as a nunnery today.

There are dozens of fantastic villages to visit in Thassos.

Let us start with Limenaria, the second-largest town. It is less than 40 km from the capital and has a mining past that started with a German mining corporation at the beginning of the past century.

Nearby, you can check out the small settlement of Kalyvia, about 2 km from Limenaria. This small wealthy village expanded and financially grew, especially during the mining boom in Limenaria.

Above the hilly Thassos terrain, at 220 meters above the sea, the small village of Theologos was the island’s capital during the Turkish occupation (between 1455 and 1883) and way beyond that until 1902, when the Egyptians left the island. The picturesque village is filled with narrow paved alleys and constructions influenced by Macedonian architecture. Theologos is also famous for an ancient stone bridge. The village has its own characteristic cuisine, several small chapels, and a folkloric museum located in an old mansion.

Potos is a more modern seaside village that is popular among tourists. The coastal village is located on the southern coast, about 40 kilometers from Limenas. Potos was also the main harbor of Theologos. There are several beautiful beaches in the area, and it is a great place to stay if you want to experience some nightlife during your vacation. Also, remember that it’s in this area of the island where you can enjoy some of the most amazing sunsets in Thassos.

If you enjoyed the settlement of Theologos, another gorgeous village you cannot miss is Panagia, a picturesque mountainous village about 8 kilometers from Limenas. It also held the privilege of being the capital of Thassos back during the Greek Revolution in 1821. The village features gorgeous narrow stone alleys and houses with small balconies and wood verandas. Several streams and channels cross the village, producing a constant, calming, watery sound. 

The Mountain Village of Kazaviti

One of the most beautiful villages on the island is Kazaviti, about 20 kilometers from Limenas. The settlement is divided into Small (Mikro) and Big (Megalo) Kazaviti. The mountain village is mostly pedestrian-only, as cars can only arrive as far as the main square. This region of Thassos is a must-go destination for foodies , with its organic meat, vineyards, and several traditional taverns.

Natural Pool Of Giola

One of Thassos’s landmarks is Giola, a natural rocky lagoon in the region of Astris. Rocks about 10 meters high surround the pool, from which one can dive into the pristine emerald waters .

How to reach Giola: The best way to reach Giola is to drive from Potos, follow a dirt road that leads to the beach, and ascend on foot. Many signs in the area indicate the right direction to get there.

Hiking In Thassos

Being in close contact with nature is easy in Thassos. The natural surroundings of verdant hills and mountain paths offer plenty of opportunities to enjoy a walk surrounded by unforgettable views.

The island has dozens of mountain paths where it is also possible to enjoy bicycle rides or tranquil walks. 

The island is a unique hiking destination all year round. At the same time, many local travel agencies will be happy to offer hiking excursions around Thassos to learn about a huge variety of wildflowers, shrubs, herbs, olive trees, pines, and chestnuts, but also stunning birds such as owls and eagles.

Several trails cross the island and take walkers through different inland villages. One of the most imposing treks takes you to the summit of Mount Ipsarion (1294 meters), where you can enjoy incredible views of the island.

Golden Beach, Near Potamia

One of the best beaches on the island is Paradise Beach, near the small village of Kinira.

Marble Beach

Another famous shore in Thassos, Marble Beach, is a pebbled beach with incredibly beautiful small white and soft pebbles, crystal clear waters, and a quiet atmosphere.

Skala Kallirachi Beach

Tripiti Beach

This shore in the southern area of Thassos is a popular tourist destination. It features white sand and clear blue and calm waters.

Potos je živopisno primorsko mesto na južnoj strani ostrva Tasos, 45 kilometara od grada Limenasa ili Tasosa i 28 kilometara od luke Skala Prinos. Nekada malo ribarsko naselje vremenom se razvilo u vrlo privlačnu turističku destinaciju.

Idealan je za porodični odmor, a isto tako i za mlade koji žele zabavu do kasno u noć. U Potosu ćete naći lepe plaže, kako onu u centru, peskovitu gradsku plažu, tako i nekoliko drugih u blizini samog mesta. Potos nije izgubio svoj šarm usprkos tome što ga već godinama posećuju mnogobrojni turisti iz cele Evrope. Mnoštvo kafića i taverni koji se nalaze uz samu obalu pružiće vam uživanje tokom čitavog dana, a posebno u večernjim časovima kada možete da posmatrate predivan zalazak sunca. 10. Týždeň s planet fun

Strávili sme spolu veľa času pri mori objavovaním morského sveta, ktorý sme si spoločne kreslili, vyrábali sme obrázky z piesku, odohrali sme napínavé zápasy na futbalovej akadémií a tancovali na minidisco večer aj v bazéne.

9. Týždeň animácií

Náš spoločný týždeň sme odštartovali výletom na lodi a miniolympiádou. Navštívili sme spolu večerný Potos, kde sme kreslili na mramory. Vyskúšali sme súťažiť v tanečnej aj futbalovej akadémií. Aj dospeláci mali svoj program - ranná jóga, aquagym a plážový volejbal. Náš úžasný týždeň sme zavŕšili obľúbeným Satur marketom.

Bájna rieka v oblasti Epirus ideálna na jednodňový výlet z letovísk Parga a Sivota. Kraj nadpozemskej krásy, v ktorom sa zrodili grécke báje. Popri skalnatých brehoch rieky Acheron vzdorovali hrdinovia cudzej nadvláde. Jej rovinatý dolný tok podľa starých mudrcov umýval brehy záhrobia. Vitajte v miestach, kde história a mýtus splývajú v jedno.

Akropola pri hlavnom meste

Neďaleko hlavného mesta stojí byzantská Akropola, ktorá sa ďalej rozvíjala počas benátskej nadvlády. Skladá sa z troch úrovní, v jednej sa nachádza svätyňa bohyne Atény, jedna bola miestom uctievania Pana, jedného z najvernejších stúpencov boha Dionýza. Portrét zachytávajúci ho pri hraní na jeho píšťalu je medzi návštevníkmi mimoriadne obľúbený. Ak aj nie ste fanúšikovia starých gréckych bohov, oplatí sa Akropolu navštíviť už len pre úžasný výhľad z nej.

Atrakcie v Grécku

Grécko má siahodlhú históriu, na ktorú sú Gréci právom pyšní. Je stále dôležitou súčasťou ich života a obklopuje ich vo všadeprítomných pompéznych pamiatkach, ako aj zachovalých kláštoroch. Nechýbajú tu ani prírodné unikáty, okrem najkrajších pláži, sú to najmä jaskyne a zelené rokliny.

Mesto nasiaknuté mytológiou a históriou. Atmosféra Atén je príjemná, ozvláštnená rušnými kaviarňami, chodníkmi vedúcimi pomedzi nekonečné pamiatky. Ak strávite miestnu mentalitu, užijete si jedno z najkľudnejších a najzvláštnejších európskych miest. Mesto na prvý pohľad vyzerá ako betónová džungľa a dodnes ho trápi obávaný nefos (smog). Pri prechádzke po elegantnom chodníku mestečka Skala Prinos pozdĺž hlavnej cesty narazíte na krásny zelený lesík Dasilio Prinos. Je to očarujúci ihličnatý les na pravom okraji zálivu a miestami sa môže zdať, že rastie priamo z mora. Dasilio Prinos je rozdelený na oblasti, špeciálne určené pre rekreáciu, s grilom, detským ihriskom a samozrejme kúpaliskom.

ORGANIZUOTOS TURISTINĖS KELIONĖS BENDROSIOS SUTARTIES, TURIZMO PASLAUGŲ TEIKIMO SĄLYGOS

1. BENDROSIOS SĄLYGOS

1.1. UAB „Itaka Lietuva“ (toliau – kelionių organizatorius) tikslas užtikrinti turistui optimalias poilsio sąlygas organizuotos turistinės kelionės metu, o taip pat teikiant turizmo paslaugas, kurios nėra laikomos organizuota turistine kelione. Šioje organizuotos turistinės kelionės, turizmo paslaugų sutartyje, kuri sudaryta vadovaujantis Lietuvos Respublikos civiliniu kodeksu (toliau – Civilinis kodeksas), Lietuvos Respublikos vartotojų teisių apsaugos įstatymu bei Lietuvos Respublikos turizmo įstatymu, apibrėžtos turisto ir kelionių organizatoriaus teisės bei pareigos. Šioje sutartyje turistas – fizinis asmuo, kuris su kelionių organizatoriumi sudaro organizuotos turistinės kelionės sutartį (toliau – „sutartis“) (sutartį pasirašęs asmuo), arba bet kuris kitas fizinis asmuo, kurio vardu sutartį pasirašęs asmuo perka organizuotą turistinę kelionę (toliau – „kelionė“) ir prisiima visas teises ir pareigas pagal sutartį (kiti naudos gavėjai), arba bet kuris asmuo, kuriam sutartį pasirašęs asmuo ar bet kuris naudos gavėjas perleidžia savo teisę į kelionę, arba fizinis asmuo, kuris sudaro sutartį su kitų paslaugų teikėju tarpininkaujant kelionių organizatoriui dėl individualių turizmo paslaugų, kurios nėra organizuota turistinė kelionė ir kurias teikia kiti paslaugų teikėjai (toliau - „paslaugų sutartis“).

1.2. Kelionių organizatorius teikia ne tik organizuotos turistinės kelionės, bet ir tarpininkavimo paslaugas sudarant paslaugų sutartis dėl individualių turizmo paslaugų teikimo (toliau – „individualios paslaugos“), kurios nėra laikomos organizuotos turistinės kelionės dalimi. Tokių individualių paslaugų dalyku yra individuali paslauga, sudaranti atskirą turizmo paslaugą, kuri nėra laikoma organizuota turistine kelione ir kelionės organizatorius jos nejungia su kitomis paslaugomis. Individualios paslaugos apima paslaugų sutartis dėl apgyvendinimo vykstant nuosavu transportu, paslaugų sutartis dėl skrydžių užsakomaisiais ar reguliariaisiais reisais (tiek į vieną, tiek į abi puses), kt. Su turistais sudaromose sutartyse aiškiai nurodoma, ar jos sudaromos dėl organizuotos turistinės kelionės ar dėl individualios paslaugos. Su turistu sudarytos paslaugų sutarties dėl individualios paslaugos šalimi yra atitinkamos joje nurodytos paslaugos teikėjas (pvz. viešbutis ar oro linijos), kuris prisiima visišką atsakomybę už tokios paslaugų sutarties dėl individualios paslaugos teikimo vykdymą ir visos pretenzijos dėl tokios paslaugų sutarties vykdymą turi būti turisto teikiamas tiesiogiai tokiam paslaugų teikėjui. Paslaugų sutartims šios organizuotos turistinės kelionės, turizmo paslaugų sutarties nuostatos taikomos tiek, kiek jos yra taikytinos individualioms paslaugoms, išskyrus nuostatas, kurios pagal LR Civilinį kodeksą bei LR Turizmo įstatymą taikomos organizuotai turistinei kelionei (tame tarpe dėl kelionių orgranizatoriaus atsakomybės, dėl turistui suteikiamų teisių, taikomų įsigijus organizuotą turistinę kelionę, draudimo, ir kt.).

2. SUTARTIES ŠALIŲ ĮSIPAREIGOJIMAI A. TURISTAS

2.1. Turistas (-ai) įsipareigoja:

2.1.1. Laiku apmokėti už kelionę šioje sutartyje nurodytomis sąlygomis ir tvarka.

2.1.2. Laiku pateikti visą informaciją bei dokumentus, reikalingus kelionių organizatoriui įvykdyti šią sutartį.

2.1.3. Laiku atvykti į kelionės pradžios vietą, laikytis kelionių organizatoriaus nurodymų dėl kelionės ar atskirų jos dalių vykdymo, laikytis viešosios tvarkos, tarptautinių keleivių vežimo taisyklių, bagažo gabenimo tvarkos ir į šalį įvežamų daiktų kiekio, skaičiaus ir draudimų reikalavimų. Vykdyti pasienio ir muitinės tarnybų nurodymus. Keleivių ir bagažo vežimo lėktuvu sąlygos pateikiamos interneto svetainėje www.itaka.lt, skiltyje „oro linijos“. Nėščios moterys prieš kelionę lėktuvu turėtų pasikonsultuoti su gydytoju. Saugumo sumetimais moterys nuo 26 iki 34 nėštumo savaitės pabaigos (daugiavaisio nėštumo atveju nuo 20 iki 28 savaitės pabaigos) privalo pateikti skrydį vykdančiam vežėjui gydytojo pažymą anglų kalba patvirtinančią, kad nėra jokių kontraindikacijų skristi. Nėščiosioms po 34 nėštumo savaitės (daugiavaisio nėštumo atveju po 28 savaitės) skrydį vykdantis vežėjas gali neleisti skristi. Galutinį sprendimą dėl leidimo skristi nėščiai moteriai priima lėktuvo kapitonas.

2.1.4. Vykstant į kelionę su vaiku (-ais), laikytis Lietuvos Respublikos Vyriausybės 2002 m. vasario 28 d. nutarimu Nr. 302 patvirtinto Vaiko laikino išvykimo į užsienio valstybes, nepriklausančias Šengeno erdvei, tvarkos aprašo reikalavimų.

2.1.5. Atlyginti kelionės metu padarytą žalą (sugadintą viešbučio inventorių, transporto priemones ir kt.). Jeigu žala padaryta nepilnamečio, visus nuostolius atlygina už jį atsakingas asmuo. Jeigu turistas prisiima kaltę ir sutinka atlyginti žalą, ją reikia atlyginti vietoje. Tais atvejais, kai turistas kaltės neprisiima, kelionių organizatorius turi teisę žalą išieškoti Lietuvos Respublikos teisės aktų nustatyta tvarka. Turistas neprivalo atlyginti žalos, atsiradusios dėl nenugalimos jėgos.

2.1.6. Neįgalūs arba judėjimo apribojimų turintys asmenys, kuriems kelionės lėktuvu metu gali būti reikalinga speciali pagalba, dėl sėdėjimo vietų patvirtinimo privalo susisiekti ir susitarti su skrydį vykdančiu vežėju arba kelionių organizatoriumi prieš sudarant sutartį. Tam tikrais atvejais asmens psichinė, emocinė, fizinė ar kitokia medicininė būklė gali daryti neigiamą įtaką skrydžio metu tiek pačiam turistui, tiek kartu keliaujantiems asmenims (asmenys su spec. poreikiais, širdies stimuliatoriais, kvėpavimo aparatais, širdies ligomis, besiruošiantys operacijoms ir pan.). Todėl šie turistai prieš sudarant sutartį, privalo pasitarti su medikais ir gauti jų leidimą ar rekomendacijas dėl kelionės, kartu įvertinant galimas rizikas jos metu. Neįspėjus apie sveikatos būklę ar galimas rizikas bei nesuderinus vežimo paslaugos su skrydį vykdančiu vežėju ar kelionių organizatoriumi, skrydį vykdantis vežėjas turi teisę atsisakyti tokį keleivį vežti, o turistas prisiima visas galimas tokio elgesio rizikas ir neigiamas pasekmes.

2.2. Turistas, pagrindinė sutarties šalis, privalo informuoti kitus turistus – naudos gavėjus, kad kelionė yra organizuojama tik pagal šioje sutartyje nurodytas sąlygas ir visi turistai privalo vykdyti visas sutarties sąlygas bei pateikti jiems visą po sutarties sudarymo kelionių organizatoriaus siunčiamą informaciją.

2.3. Kelionės rezervaciją turi teisę atlikti ne jaunesnis nei 18 metų veiksnus asmuo, kiti asmenys, turintys tokią teisę pagal Lietuvos Respublikos įstatymus. Jeigu sutartį sudaro nepilnametis asmuo, turintis ne mažiau nei 14 metų, reikalingas raštiškas vieno iš tėvų arba rūpintojų sutikimas su notaro patvirtintais vieno iš tėvų arba rūpintojų parašais (jeigu nepilnametis asmuo vyksta be tėvų ar rūpintojų arba su lydinčiu asmeniu). Jeigu sutartį sudaro emancipuotas nepilnametis, reikalinga įsiteisėjusio teismo sprendimo notaro patvirtinta kopija.

2.4. Išvykimo į kelionę atveju rekomenduojama, kad turistas susisiektų su kelionių organizatoriumi (tiesiogiai arba su kelionių pardavimo agentu, per kurį buvo atlikta kelionės rezervacija) likus ne mažiau kaip 24 valandoms iki planuojamo išvykimo datos dėl išvykimo datos ir laiko patikslinimo. Grįžimo iš kelionės atveju rekomenduojama, kad turistas susisiektų su kelionių organizatoriaus atstovu arba pasitikrintų viešbučio skelbimų lentoje informaciją apie grįžimo datą ir laiką, įskaitant grįžtamojo skrydžio laiko pakeitimus išvykimo iš šalies metu galiojančio laiko atžvilgiu, ne vėliau kaip likus 24 val. iki planuojamo išvykimo iš šalies datos.

2. KELIONIŲ ORGANIZATORIUS

2.5. Kelionių organizatorius įsipareigoja:

2.5.1. Užtikrinti turistui (-ams) visų sutartyje nurodytų paslaugų tinkamą teikimą, atsižvelgdamas į turisto teisėtus lūkesčius, nepaisant to, ar tas paslaugas turi teikti pats kelionių organizatorius ar kiti turizmo paslaugų teikėjai. Katalogas ir kita kelionę aprašanti medžiaga arba pakeista programa yra neatskiriamas sutarties priedas. Kelionių organizatoriaus interneto svetainėje www.itaka.lt skelbiama naujausia ir aktualiausia informacija apie viešbučius, jų kategorijų, paslaugų ir pramogų juose pasikeitimus po sutarties sudarymo.

2.5.2. Nesurinkus minimalaus turistų skaičiaus (kelionei autobusu – 50 turistų, kelionei lėktuvu – 220 turistų) pranešti turistui apie sutarties nutraukimą patvarioje laikmenoje ne vėliau kaip iki kelionės pradžios likus:

2.5.2.1. 20 dienų, jeigu kelionės trukmė yra ilgesnė negu 6 dienos;

2.5.2.2. 7 dienoms, jeigu kelionės trukmė yra ne trumpesnė negu 2 dienos ir ne ilgesnė negu 6 dienos;

2.5.2.3. likus 48 valandoms, jeigu kelionės trukmė yra trumpesnė negu 2 dienos. Turistams tinkamai ir laiku pranešus apie sutarties nutraukimą ir grąžinus įmokėtus pinigus už kelionę, kelionių organizatorius neatsako už turistų patirtą žalą.

2.5.3. Likus pakankamai laiko iki kelionės pradžios, pateikti turistui tokia forma, kokia buvo sudaryta sutartis arba kita turisto pasirinkta forma būtinus kvitus, kuponus, bilietus, informaciją apie numatytą išvykimo laiką ir, kai taikytina, registracijos terminą ir numatytą laukimo tarpinėse stotelėse, transporto jungčių ir atvykimo laiką. Kelionių organizatorius taip pat įsipareigoja suteikti informaciją apie transporto priemones, kuriomis vykstama, jų charakteristikas ir kategoriją, apgyvendinimo tipą, objekto vietą, kategoriją ar patogumų lygį ir pagrindinius ypatumus bei klasę (pagal atitinkamas priimančios valstybės taisykles), maitinimą. Pastaroji informacija taip pat gali būti skelbiama kelionių organizatoriaus internetiniame puslapyje  www.itaka.lt.

2.5.4. Suteikti bendro pobūdžio informaciją apie kelionės šalies paso ir vizos reikalavimus, įskaitant apytikslę vizos išdavimo proceso trukmę, ir informaciją apie su sveikata susijusius formalumus (informaciją apie valstybių, į kurias vykstama, užkrečiamųjų ligų epidemiologinę būklę, privalomas ir rekomenduojamas profilaktikos priemones, informaciją apie sveikatos draudimo įforminimo tvarką) arba pateikti nuorodas į šią informaciją. Pastaroji informacija skelbiama kelionių organizatoriaus internetinėje svetainėje www.itaka.lt skyrelyje „Turisto atmintinė“, taip pat ją galima rasti Lietuvos Respublikos Užsienio reikalų ministerijos internetinėje svetainėje http://keliauk.urm.lt, Užkrečiamųjų ligų ir AIDS centro internetinėje svetainėje  http://www.ulac.lt/keliautojams/.

2.5.5. Tais atvejais, kai kelionių organizatorius sutartimi įsipareigoja suteikti turistui apgyvendinimo paslaugas, atitinkančias konkrečią kategoriją pagal priimančiosios šalies taisykles, nenurodant konkretaus apgyvendinimo paslaugų teikėjo, kelionių organizatorius iki sutarties pasirašymo privalo informuoti turistą apie apgyvendinimo tipą, kategoriją bei maitinimą. Kelionių organizatorius taip pat privalo suteikti turistui neklaidinančią ir išsamią informaciją apie patogumų, paslaugų ir pramogų lygį ir kiekį.

2.5.6. Suteikti informaciją apie kelionių organizatoriaus vietinio atstovo, kelionių vadovo, kontaktinio centro ar kitos tarnybos, kurie suteikia turistui galimybę greitai susisiekti su kelionių organizatoriumi ir su juo bendrauti, kreiptis pagalbos, turistui susidūrus su sunkumais, arba pateikti pretenziją dėl netinkamo sutarties vykdymo ar sutarties nevykdymo, vardą ir pavardę arba pavadinimą, adresą, telefono numerį, elektroninio pašto adresą, fakso numerį. Jei tokių kelionių organizatoriaus atstovų nėra, turistui nurodyti telefono numerį, kuriuo jis galėtų skambinti nenumatytu atveju, ar informaciją, kuri jam padėtų susisiekti su kelionių organizatoriumi ir (ar) kelionių pardavimo agentu. Jei į kelionę vyksta nepilnamečiai, pateikti tėvams ar globėjams informaciją, leisiančią tiesiogiai susisiekti su vaiku ar atsakingu asmeniu vaiko buvimo vietoje.

2.5.7. Turisto(-ų) pateiktus asmens duomenis naudoti tik kelionės dokumentų įforminimui ir kelionės paslaugų užsakymui.

2.5.8. Be nepagrįsto delsimo suteikti turistui, kuriam kyla sunkumų, reikalingą pagalbą kelionės metu ar esant nenugalimos jėgos aplinkybėms:

2.5.8.1. teikti atitinkamą informaciją apie sveikatos priežiūros paslaugas, vietos valdžios institucijas ir konsulinę pagalbą;

2.5.8.2. padėti turistui pasinaudoti nuotolinio ryšio priemonėmis;

2.5.8.3. padėti rasti alternatyvių kelionės paslaugų.

2.5.9. Kai kelionių organizatoriui atsiranda pareiga grąžinti turistui visus ar dalį turisto ar jo vardu sumokėtų pinigų už kelionę, grąžinti pinigus be nepagrįsto delsimo, bet ne vėliau kaip per 14 dienų nuo sutarties nutraukimo dienos.

3. KELIONĖS KAINA, MOKĖJIMO SĄLYGOS

3.1. Sutartyje nurodoma bendra kelionės kaina (įskaičiuoti visi mokesčiai, papildomos įmokos, rinkliavos ir kt. išlaidos) visiems sutartyje nurodytiems turistams. Į kelionės kainą neįtraukta paso, vizos, skiepų, papildomų draudimų įsigijimo kaina, kurių įsigijimu privalo pasirūpinti pats turistas, taip pat kurorto mokesčiai, mokami apgyvendinimo paslaugos įstaigoje.

3.2. Už kelionę apmokama šia tvarka:

3.2.1. Avansas yra lygus 30 % kelionės kainos.

3.2.2. Jeigu iki kelionės pradžios liko daugiau kaip 30 dienų, avansas sumokamas į kelionių organizatoriaus arba kelionių pardavimo agento, per kurį buvo pateikta kelionės rezervacija, kasą grynais pinigais arba į kelionių organizatoriaus nurodytą atsiskaitomąją sąskaitą mokėjimo pavedimu per 24 valandas nuo rezervacijos pateikimo, o likusi suma, atėmus sumokėtą avansą, turi būti sumokėta aukščiau nurodyta tvarka ne vėliau kaip likus 30 dienų iki kelionės pradžios. Mokestis už papildomą kelionės anuliavimo išlaidų draudimą turi būti apmokėtas avanso mokėjimo metu.

3.2.3. Jeigu iki kelionės pradžios liko mažiau kaip 30 dienų, bet daugiau kaip 14 dienų, visa kelionės kaina turi būti sumokėta į kelionių organizatoriaus arba kelionių pardavimo agento, per kurį buvo pateikta kelionės rezervacija, kasą grynais pinigais arba į kelionių organizatoriaus nurodytą atsiskaitomąją sąskaitą mokėjimo pavedimu per 24 valandas nuo rezervacijos pateikimo. Mokestis už papildomą kelionės anuliavimo išlaidų draudimą turi būti sumokėtas visos kelionės kainos apmokėjimo metu.

3.2.4. Jeigu iki kelionės pradžios liko mažiau kaip 14 dienų, visa kelionės kaina turi būti sumokėta į kelionių organizatoriaus arba kelionių pardavimo agento, per kurį buvo pateikta kelionės rezervacija, kasą grynais pinigais arba į kelionių organizatoriaus nurodytą atsiskaitomąją sąskaitą mokėjimo pavedimu rezervacijos atlikimo dieną, bet ne vėliau kaip iki kelionės pradžios. Mokestis už papildomą kelionės anuliavimo išlaidų draudimą turi būti sumokėtas visos kelionės kainos apmokėjimo metu.

3.2.5. Turistui įsigyjant kelionę pagal išankstinio pirkimo, ypatingo (specialaus) pasiūlymo sąlygas arba kuriai taikomos specialios apmokėjimo sąlygos, atsiskaitymo už kelionę sąlygos, kurios skiriasi nuo 3.2.1 – 3.2.4 punktuose nurodytų standartinių apmokėjimo sąlygų, yra atskirai nurodomos sutartyje.

3.2.6. Jeigu rezervacija nėra atliekama asmeniškai, turistas per 24 valandas nuo rezervacijos atlikimo privalo persiųsti kelionių pardavimo agentui faksu arba elektroniniu paštu, jei rezervacija buvo atlikta per jį, arba kelionių organizatoriui el. paštu [email protected] jei rezervacija atlikta interneto svetainėje www.itaka.lt, mokėjimo atlikimo patvirtinimą.

3.2.7. Jeigu aukščiau nurodytos sąlygos nebus įvykdytos, kelionių organizatorius pasilieka teisę panaikinti neapmokėtą rezervaciją.

4. SKRYDIS, VIEŠBUČIO PARA, PASAI

4.1. Kelionės trukmė yra skaičiuojama nakvynėmis. Kelionių organizatorius informuoja turistą, kad išvykimo diena yra kelionės pradžios, o grįžimo diena - kelionės pabaigos data. Skrendant lėktuvu pirma ir paskutinė kelionės diena numatyta kelionei, o ne realiam poilsiui. Viešbučio para, t. y. viešbučio paslaugos (pvz. maitinimas), viešbučiuose ir apartamentuose baigiasi 10.00 valandą, o prasideda 15.00 valandą. Jeigu į priimančią šalį turistas atskrenda naktį, t. y. dieną po viešbučio paslaugų teikimo pradžios datos, kuri nurodyta kelionės dokumente skiltyje „DATA“, turistas apgyvendinamas jam atvykus į viešbutį. Tokiu atveju, viešbučio para skaičiuojama nuo dienos, kuri nurodyta kelionės dokumento skiltyje „DATA“, 15.00 valandos. Viskas įskaičiuota (angl. All inclusive) paslaugos pradedamos teikti užsiregistravus viešbutyje su sąlyga, kad jau prasidėjusi pirma viešbučio para, o baigiamos teikti išsiregistravus iš viešbučio, bet ne vėliau nei pasibaigus paskutinei viešbučio parai. Tuo atveju, kai grįžimas į šalį vyksta pasibaigus paskutinei viešbučio parai, iš kambarių būtina išsiregistruoti ne vėliau kaip iki grįžimo dienos 10.00 valandos. Kruizų laivu atveju, įlaipinimas į laivą prasideda nuo 13.00 val, o kruizo pabaigoje kajutės turi būti atlaisvintos iki 9.00 val.

4.2. Kiekvienas turistas, išvykdamas už Europos Sąjungos ribų, privalo turėti galiojantį pasą (mažiausiai 6 mėnesiai nuo kelionės pabaigos datos). Vykstant į Europos Sąjungos šalis reikalinga asmens tapatybės kortelė arba pasas. Šis reikalavimas taip pat taikomas vaikams iki 2 metų amžiaus. Asmenims, turintiems laikiną arba diplomatinį pasą, kelionių organizatorius rekomenduoja prieš atliekant rezervaciją susisiekti su priimančios šalies diplomatine atstovybe, atsižvelgiant į galimus formalius apribojimus, susijusius su tokiu pasu.

5. KELIONĖS KAINOS KEITIMAS

5.1. Kelionių organizatorius po sutarties sudarymo turi teisę didinti kelionės kainą. Kelionės kainos didinimas galimas tik tuo atveju, kai jį tiesiogiai lemia pasikeitęs (-usi):

5.1.1. turistų vežimo kaina dėl degalų ar kitų energijos šaltinių išlaidų;

5.1.2. su į sutartį įtrauktų paslaugų, susijusių mokesčių ar rinkliavų (pvz. turisto rinkliava, oro uosto mokesčiai, kt.), kuriuos taiko tretieji asmenys, tiesiogiai nedalyvaujantys vykdant kelionę, dydis;

5.1.3. su kelione susijusios valiutos keitimo kursas.

5.2. Kelionių organizatorius patvariojoje laikmenoje aiškiai ir suprantamai informuoja turistą apie kainos padidinimą likus ne mažiau kaip 20 dienų iki kelionės pradžios, nurodydamas kainos padidėjimo priežastis ir kaip buvo apskaičiuotas kainos padidėjimas.

5.3. Jeigu kelionės kainos padidinimas viršija 8 procentus galutinės kelionės kainos, turistas turi teisę nutraukti sutartį ar pasirinkti kelionių organizatoriaus siūlomą alternatyvią kelionę.

5.4. Turistas po sutarties sudarymo turi teisę reikalauti sumažinti kelionės kainą šiais atvejais:

5.4.1. sumažėjus sutarties 5.1. punkte nurodytoms išlaidoms po sutarties sudarymo, bet iki kelionės pradžios;

5.4.2. dėl netinkamo sutarties vykdymo, nebent kelionių organizatorius įrodo, kad sutartis vykdoma netinkamai dėl turisto kaltės;

5.4.3. kai dėl siūlomų alternatyvių paslaugų kelionė tampa žemesnės kokybės, nei nurodyta sutartyje;

5.4.4. jeigu kelionės organizatorius dėl pagrįstų priežasčių negali pasiūlyti alternatyvių paslaugų arba turistas jų atsisako pagal Civilinio kodekso 6.754 straipsnio 5 dalį;

5.4.5. jeigu dėl turisto nurodytų trūkumų sutartis negali būti toliau vykdoma, o kelionių organizatorius per turisto nustatytą pagrįstą laikotarpį nepašalina trūkumų.

5.5. Sumažinus kelionės kainą, kelionių organizatorius turi teisę iš turistui turimos sugrąžinti sumos išskaičiuoti faktines administracines išlaidas. Turisto prašymu kelionės organizatorius turi pateikti tokių administracinių išlaidų pagrindimą.

6. KITŲ SUTARTIES SĄLYGŲ KEITIMAS

6.1. Kelionių organizatorius iki kelionės pradžios vienašališkai turi teisę keisti kitas sutarties sąlygas, tik esant visoms šioms sąlygoms:

6.1.1. pakeitimai nėra esminiai;

6.1.2. kelionių organizatorius turisto pageidaujama forma patvariojoje laikmenoje aiškiai ir suprantamai pateikė turistui informaciją apie pakeitimus.

6.2. Kelionių organizatorius be nepagrįsto delsimo patvariojoje laikmenoje aiškiai ir suprantamai turi pateikti turistui informaciją apie:

6.2.1. siūlomus sutarties pakeitimus;

6.2.2. protingą terminą, kuris yra lygus 2 dienoms, per kurį turistas turi informuoti kelionių organizatorių apie savo sprendimą.

6.2.3. pasekmes, jei turistas neatsakytų per kelionių organizatoriaus nurodytą terminą;

6.2.4. alternatyvią kelionę ir jos kainą, kai tokia kelionė pasiūloma.

6.3. Turistas turi teisę savo pasirinkimu per kelionių organizatoriaus nurodytą protingą terminą sutikti su kelionių organizatoriaus siūlomais sutarties sąlygų pakeitimais ar nutraukti sutartį nemokėdamas sutarties nutraukimo mokesčio.

6.4. Turistui nutraukus sutartį, kelionių organizatorius gali turistui pasiūlyti lygiavertę ar aukštesnės kokybės kitą kelionę. Jei dėl sutarties pakeitimų ar pasirinktos alternatyvios kelionės suprastėja kelionės kokybė ar sumažėja jos kaina, turistas turi teisę reikalauti grąžinti sumažėjusios kainos skirtumą.

6.5. Po sutarties sudarymo abiejų šalių rašytiniu susitarimu gali būti keičiama bet kuri sutarties sąlyga.

7. SUTARTIES ŠALIŲ PASIKEITIMAS. KELIONĖS KEITIMAS

7.1 Turistas turi teisę perleisti savo teisę į kelionę kitam asmeniui, kuris įgys visas turisto teises ir pareigas pagal sutartį, jeigu iki kelionės pradžios kelionių organizatoriui ar kelionių pardavimo agentui, per kurį buvo sudaryta sutartis, pateikia pagrįstą pranešimą. Turisto pranešimas visais atvejais laikomas pagrįstu, jeigu jis pateiktas ne vėliau kaip likus septynioms dienoms iki kelionės pradžios, išskyrus atvejus, kai kelionių organizatorius sutinka priimti tokį pranešimą, kuris pateiktas likus mažiau kaip septynioms dienoms iki kelionės pradžios, bet ne vėliau kaip likus 2 valandoms iki išvykimo kelionėms lėktuvu arba 15 minučių kelionėms autobusu.

7.2. Kelionių organizatorius informuoja turistą, perleidžiantį savo teisę į kelionę kitam asmeniui, apie faktines sutarties perleidimo išlaidas ir pateikia jas pagrindžiančius įrodymus. Tos išlaidos turi būti pagrįstos ir neviršyti kelionių organizatoriaus dėl sutarties perleidimo patirtų faktinių išlaidų.

7.3. Teisę į kelionę perleidžiantis turistas ir kitas asmuo kelionių organizatoriui už kelionės kainos ir išlaidų, susijusių su teisės į kelionę perleidimu, sumokėjimą atsako solidariai.

7.4. Tais atvejais, kai toks perleidimas prieštarauja asmens, kurio pagalba kelionių organizatorius naudojasi, taisyklėms (t.y. jei per laiką, likusį iki kelionės pradžios jau neleidžiama užsakyti ir/ar keisti vietos transporto priemonėje, viešbutyje), apie tai nurodoma sutartyje ar jos prieduose.

7.5. Esant turisto prašymui, pateiktam tiesiogiai kelionių organizatoriui arba kelionių pardavimo agentui, kelionės datos, kambario tipo ir/ar kelionės krypties pakeitimo galimybė svarstoma atskirai kiekvienu atveju, likus ne mažiau kaip 40 dienų iki išvykimo. Jeigu kelionių organizatorius neturi galimybės pakeisti kelionės datą ir/ar kelionės kryptį ir turistas nutraukia sutartį, taikomas šios sutarties 8.1.2 punktas.

7.6. Kelionių organizatorius informuoja turistą, kurio prašymu atliekami kelionės pakeitimai, apie faktines sutarties keitimo išlaidas ir pateikia jas pagrindžiančius įrodymus. Tos išlaidos turi būti pagrįstos ir neviršyti kelionių organizatoriaus dėl sutarties perleidimo patirtų faktinių išlaidų.

8. TEISĖ ATSISAKYTI SUTARTIES

8.1. Turisto teisė nutraukti sutartį:

8.1.1. Turistas turi teisę bet kuriuo metu nutraukti sutartį iki kelionės pradžios.

8.1.2. Turistui nutraukus sutartį, kelionių organizatorius gali reikalauti iš turisto sumokėti pagrįstą sutarties nutraukimo mokestį, nustatytą sutartyje. Sutarties nutraukimo mokesčio dydis priklauso nuo likusio laiko iki kelionės pradžios: • likus ne mažiau nei 31 diena iki kelionės pradžios – 20 % kelionės kainos, • likus nuo 30 iki 21 dienos iki kelionės pradžios – 30 % kelionės kainos, • likus nuo 20 iki 14 dienų iki kelionės pradžios – 50 % kelionės kainos, • likus nuo 13 iki 8 dienų iki kelionės pradžios – 70 % kelionės kainos, • likus nuo 7 iki 2 dienų iki kelionės pradžios – 80 % kelionės kainos, • likus 1 dienai ir mažiau iki kelionės pradžios – 90 % kelionės kainos. Aukščiau nurodyti atšaukimo kaštai nėra taikomi kelionėms vykdomoms reguliariais skrydžiais. Atšaukimo kaštai bus priklausomi nuo oro linijų paskaičiuotų bilietų atšaukimo kaštų, taip pat apgyvendinimo, pervežimo ir kitų užsakytų paslaugų atšaukimo kaštų bei kelionių agentūros aptarnavimo mokesčio. Prieš kelionės atšaukimą prašome susisiekti su organizatoriumi dėl kelionės atšaukimo kaštų paskaičiavimo. Visais atvejais sutarties nutraukimo mokesčio dydis negali viršyti sutartyje nustatytos kelionės kainos.

8.1.3. Turistas turi teisę nutraukti sutartį ir nemokėti sutarties nutraukimo mokesčio šiais atvejais:

8.1.3.1. jeigu kelionių organizatorius iki kelionės pradžios pakeičia sutarties sąlygas, o turistas per kelionių organizatoriaus nurodytą protingą terminą, kuris yra lygus 2 dienoms, nesutinka su kelionių organizatoriaus siūlomais sutarties sąlygų pakeitimais, kai: 8.1.3.1.1. kelionių organizatorius iki kelionės pradžios yra priverstas iš esmės pakeisti bet kurią iš pagrindinių kelionės paslaugų ir (ar) ypatumų;

8.1.3.1.2. kelionių organizatorius negali įvykdyti sutartyje nurodytų specialių turisto reikalavimų;

8.1.3.1.3. kelionių organizatorius pasiūlo padidinti kelionės kainą daugiau kaip 8 procentais pagal Civilinio kodekso 6.7521 straipsnį;

8.1.3.2. jeigu dėl turisto nurodytų trūkumų sutartis negali būti toliau vykdoma, o kelionių organizatorius per turisto nustatytą protingą laikotarpį nepašalina trūkumų. Civilinio kodekso 6.7521 straipsnio 3 dalyje numatytais atvejais turistas gali prašyti sumažinti kelionės kainą arba atlyginti žalą;

8.1.3.3. jeigu kelionės tikslo vietoje ar visiškai greta atsiranda nenugalimos jėgos aplinkybių, dėl kurių gali tapti neįmanoma vykdyti kelionę ar nuvežti turistus į kelionės tikslo vietą. Tokiu atveju turistas turi teisę reikalauti, kad jam būtų grąžinti už kelionę sumokėti pinigai, tačiau jam nesuteikiama teisė papildomai gauti žalos atlyginimą.

8.1.4. Jeigu turistas neatvyksta į kelionės pradžią dėl nuo kelionių organizatoriaus nepriklausomų priežasčių iki kelionės pradžios nepranešęs apie sutarties nutraukimą, turisto rezervacija šiai kelionei bus atšaukta kelionių organizatoriaus rezervavimo sistemoje praėjus 48 valandoms nuo kelionės, kurioje turistas nedalyvavo, pradžios.

8.1.5. Jeigu kelionę įsigijo du turistai ir iki kelionės pradžios sutartį nutraukia vienas iš sutartyje nurodytų turistų, antrasis turistas, kuris keliaus vienas, privalo dar prieš išvykimą sumokėti papildomą mokestį už vienvietį kambarį. Pažintinių kelionių atveju ir tuomet, kai už vienvietį kambarį nesumokama papildoma kaina, toks turistas apgyvendinamas kartu su kitu tos pačios lyties asmeniu dviviečiame kambaryje.

8.2. Kelionių organizatoriaus teisė nutraukti sutartį:

8.2.1. Kelionių organizatorius turi teisę iki kelionės pradžios nutraukti sutartį, grąžinti turistui visas už kelionę sumokėtas sumas ir atlyginti turisto patirtą pagrįstą žalą.

8.2.2. Kelionių organizatoriui nutraukus sutartį turisto patirta žala neatlyginama šiais atvejais:

8.2.2.1. kelionę įsigijusių asmenų skaičius yra mažesnis nei sutarties 2.5.2 punkte nurodytas minimalus turistų skaičius ir apie tai turistas buvo informuotas sutarties 2.5.2 punkte nustatyta tvarka;

8.2.2.2. kelionių organizatorius negali įvykdyti sutarties dėl nenugalimos jėgos ir jis nedelsdamas iki kelionės pradžios praneša turistui apie sutarties nutraukimą.

8.3. Turistas turi teisę nenurodydamas priežasties per 14 dienų atsisakyti ne prekybos patalpose sudarytos sutarties Civilinio kodekso 6.22810 straipsnio 1 dalies nustatyta tvarka ir turi apie tai pranešti kelionių organizatoriui Civilinio kodekso 6.22810 straipsnio 6 ir 7 dalyse nustatyta tvarka.

9. ATSAKOMYBĖ UŽ NETINKAMĄ SUTARTIES VYKDYMĄ

9.1. Kelionių organizatorius atsako už bet kokius techninius užsakymo sistemos trūkumus, kurių atsirado dėl jo kaltės sudarant sutartį ir už bet kokias užsakymo proceso metu padarytas klaidas. Atsakomybė netaikoma, kai užsakymo klaidos atsirado dėl turisto kaltės arba jas sukėlė nenugalimos jėgos aplinkybės.

9.2. Kelionių organizatorius privalo be nepagrįsto delsimo suteikti turistui, kuriam kyla sunkumų, reikalingą pagalbą, nurodytą sutarties 2.5.8. punkte.

9.3. Jei pagalba turistui yra reikalinga dėl priežasčių, kurios atsiranda dėl turisto tyčinių veiksmų ar aplaidumo, kelionių organizatorius turi teisę už tokios pagalbos teikimą imti atlygį, kurio dydis negali viršyti kelionių organizatoriaus patirtų faktinių išlaidų.

9.4. Turistas be nepagrįsto delsimo turi pranešti kelionių organizatoriui sutartyje nurodytais kontaktais apie bet kokį netinkamo sutarties vykdymo ar sutarties nevykdymo atvejį, jo pastebėtą kelionės metu ir nurodyti protingą terminą trūkumams ištaisyti. Jeigu trūkumus būtina ištaisyti nedelsiant, turistas neprivalo nurodyti termino.

9.5. Jeigu sutartyje nurodytos paslaugos teikiamos ne pagal sutarties sąlygas, kelionių organizatorius per turisto nustatytą protingą terminą privalo ištaisyti turisto nurodytus trūkumus, išskyrus kai to padaryti neįmanoma arba jei tai sukeltų neproporcingų išlaidų, atsižvelgiant į trūkumų mastą ir į netinkamai suteiktų paslaugų, nurodytų sutartyje, vertę.

9.6. Jeigu kelionių organizatorius neištaiso trūkumų dėl sutarties sąlygų 9.5 punkte nurodytų priežasčių, taikomos Civilinio kodekso 6.7541 straipsnio nuostatos dėl žalos atlyginimo.

9.7. Jeigu kelionių organizatorius per turisto nustatytą protingą terminą neištaiso trūkumų ne dėl sutarties 9.5 punkte nurodytų priežasčių, turistas gali padaryti tai pats ir pareikalauti padengti būtinas išlaidas.

9.8. Jeigu kelionių organizatorius negali suteikti didelės paslaugų dalies pagal sutartį arba turisto sugrįžimo į išvykimo vietą paslauga nesuteikiama taip, kaip buvo susitarta, kelionių organizatorius privalo pasiūlyti turistui be papildomų išlaidų tinkamas alternatyvias paslaugas, kurių kokybė, jeigu įmanoma, būtų lygiavertė sutartyje nurodytai kokybei arba aukštesnė už ją, kad būtų galima toliau tęsti kelionę. Kai dėl siūlomų alternatyvų kelionė tampa žemesnės kokybės nei nurodyta sutartyje, kelionių organizatorius atitinkamai sumažina kelionės kainą.

9.9. Jei pasiūlytos alternatyvos nėra panašios į tas paslaugas, dėl kurių buvo susitarta sutartyje, arba, jei suteiktas kainos sumažinimas yra neadekvatus, turistas gali jų atsisakyti.

9.10. Jei nepakankama atitiktis iš esmės daro poveikį kelionės vykdymui, o kelionių organizatorius per turisto nustatytą pagrįstą laikotarpį padėties neištaiso, turistas gali nutraukti sutartį nemokėdamas sutarties nutraukimo mokesčio ir paprašyti sumažinti kainą ir (arba) atlyginti turtinę ir neturtinę žalą.

9.11. Jeigu nėra įmanoma pasiūlyti alternatyvų arba turistas atsisako pasiūlytų alternatyvų pagal sutarties 9.9 punktą, turistas turi teisę į kainos sumažinimą ir (arba) turtinės ir neturtinės žalos atlyginimą nenutraukiant sutarties.

9.12. Jeigu kelionė apima keleivių vežimo paslaugą, kelionių organizatorius šios sutarties 9.9 – 9.11 punktuose nurodytais atvejais be papildomo užmokesčio turi užtikrinti turisto grąžinimą į pradinę išvykimo vietą lygiavertės rūšies transportu arba nuvežimą į kitą vietovę, dėl kurios sutinka turistas, taip pat grąžinti turistui pinigus už nesuteiktas paslaugas.

9.13. Jeigu dėl nenugalimos jėgos kelionių organizatorius negali užtikrinti turisto grąžinimo taip, kaip numatyta sutartyje, kelionių organizatorius privalo apmokėti būtino apgyvendinimo, kurio kategorija, jeigu įmanoma, yra lygiavertė nurodytajai sutartyje, tam laikotarpiui, kiek trunka nenugalimos jėgos aplinkybės, bet ne ilgesniam kaip trijų nakvynių laikotarpiui kiekvienam turistui, išlaidas, išskyrus atvejus, kai kituose įstatymuose ar Europos Sąjungos teisės aktuose numatyti ilgesni laikotarpiai (pvz., riboto judumo ir juos lydintiems asmenims, nėščiosioms ir nelydimiems nepilnamečiams, taip pat asmenims, kuriems reikia specialios medicinos pagalbos, jei turistas apie jo specialius poreikius praneša kelionių organizatoriui likus ne mažiau kaip 48 valandoms iki kelionės pradžios).

9.14. Turistas turi teisę reikalauti, kad jam be nepagrįsto delsimo būtų atlyginta turtinė ir neturtinė žala šiais atvejais:

9.14.1. jeigu dėl turisto nurodytų trūkumų sutartis negali būti toliau vykdoma, o kelionių organizatorius per turisto nustatytą protingą terminą nepašalina trūkumų;

9.14.2. jeigu kelionių organizatorius dėl pagrįstų priežasčių negali pasiūlyti alternatyvių paslaugų arba turistas jų atsisako pagal sutarties 9.9 punktą;

9.14.3. kitais Civiliniame kodekse nustatytais atvejais. 9.15. Kelionių organizatorius neatsako už netinkamą sutarties įvykdymą, jeigu kelionių organizatorius įrodo, kad sutartis buvo netinkamai vykdoma dėl:

9.15.1. turisto kaltės;

9.15.2. trečiosios šalies, nesusijusios su paslaugų teikimu pagal sutartį, kaltės ir todėl nebuvo įmanoma žalos numatyti arba jos išvengti;

9.15.3. nenugalimos jėgos.

9.16. Jeigu žala, išskyrus žalą, atsiradusią dėl turisto mirties, sveikatos sužalojimo, taip pat tyčinę žalą ar dėl didelio neatsargumo padarytą žalą, turistui padaroma teikiant sutartyje numatytą paslaugą, tačiau tą paslaugą teikia ne pats kelionės organizatorius, kelionės organizatoriaus atsakomybė už tokią žalą gali būti ribojama triguba kelionės kaina.

9.17. Turisto teisė gauti žalos atlyginimą ar teisė į kainos sumažinimą nedaro poveikio keleivių teisėms pagal 2004 m. vasario 11 d. Europos Parlamento ir Tarybos reglamentą (EB) Nr. 261/2004, nustatantį bendras kompensavimo ir pagalbos keleiviams taisykles atsisakymo vežti ir skrydžių atšaukimo arba atidėjimo ilgam laikui atveju, panaikinantį Reglamentą (EEB) Nr. 295/91 (OL 2004 L 046, p. 1), 2007 m. spalio 23 d. Europos Parlamento ir Tarybos reglamentą (EB) Nr. 1371/2007 dėl geležinkelių keleivių teisių ir pareigų (OL 2007 L 315, p. 14), 2009 m. balandžio 23 d. Europos Parlamento ir Tarybos reglamentą (EB) Nr. 392/2009 dėl keleivių vežėjų jūra atsakomybės avarijų atveju (OL 2009 L 131, p. 24), 2010 m. lapkričio 24 d. Europos Parlamento ir Tarybos reglamentą (ES) Nr. 1177/2010 dėl jūrų ir vidaus vandenų keliais vykstančių keleivių teisių, kuriuo iš dalies keičiamas Reglamentas (EB) Nr. 2006/2004 (OL 2010 L 334, p. 1), 2011 m. vasario 16 d. Europos Parlamento ir Tarybos reglamentą (ES) Nr. 181/2011 dėl miesto ir tolimojo susisiekimo autobusų transporto keleivių teisių, kuriuo iš dalies keičiamas Reglamentas (EB) Nr. 2006/2004 (OL 2011 L 55, p. 1), ir pagal tarptautines konvencijas.

9.18. Pagal sutarties 9.14 punktą kelionių organizatoriaus išmokėtas žalos atlyginimas arba pagal sutarties 5 skyriaus nuostatas kelionių organizatoriaus turistui suteiktas kainos sumažinimas ir pagal sutarties 9.17 punkte nurodytus Europos Sąjungos teisės aktus ir tarptautines konvencijas išmokėtas žalos atlyginimas arba suteiktas kainos sumažinimas turistui išskaitomi vienas iš kito, kad būtų išvengta dvigubo žalos atlyginimo. 9.19. Turistui padaryta turtinė ir neturtinė žala atlyginama Civilinio kodekso nustatyta tvarka.

10. DRAUDIMAS

10.1. Prieš išvykstant į kelionę neprivaloma, tačiau rekomenduojama įsigyti medicininių išlaidų kelionės metu draudimą. Taip pat turistas turi teisę įsigyti neįvykusios kelionės draudimą, kelionės jungties praradimo draudimą, draudimą nuo nelaimingų atsitikimų, ir kt. Visa informacija apie draudimą pateikiama interneto svetainėje www.itaka.lt skyrelyje „Turisto atmintinė“ arba turistas jos gali teirautis pas kelionių pardavimo agentą.

11. BAIGIAMOSIOS NUOSTATOS

11.1. Kelionės metu atsiradusias pretenzijas dėl sutarties netinkamo vykdymo ar nevykdymo turistas turi be nepagrįsto delsimo raštu ar patvariojoje laikmenoje pareikšti sutartyje nurodytam kelionės vadovui, kelionių organizatoriaus vietiniam atstovui, kontaktiniam centrui ar kitai tarnybai, o jei šių nėra, – kelionių organizatoriui.

11.2. Kai sutartis sudaryta per kelionių pardavimo agentą, turistas gali pateikti pranešimus, prašymus ar pretenzijas tiesiogiai kelionių pardavimo agentui, kuris be nepagrįsto delsimo perduoda pranešimus, prašymus ar pretenzijas kelionių organizatoriui. Kelionių pardavimo agentui gavus turisto pranešimus, prašymus ar pretenzijas, laikoma, kad juos gavo kelionių organizatorius.

11.3. Kelionių organizatorius privalo neatlygintinai išnagrinėti turisto kreipimąsi ir, kai nesutinka su turisto reikalavimais, privalo ne vėliau kaip per 14 dienų nuo turisto kreipimosi gavimo dienos, pateikti turistui išsamų motyvuotą rašytinį atsakymą, pagrįstą dokumentais. Kelionių organizatoriui gavus turisto pretenziją, turinčią trūkumų (pvz. nepasirašytą turisto ar įgalioto asmens arba nepateikus tinkamą atstovavimą patvirtinančių dokumentų, nepateikus sutarties kopijos ir/ar nusiskundimus patvirtinančių įrodymų) kelionių organizatorius turi teisę kreiptis į turistą su prašymu per protingą terminą ištaisyti nurodytus trūkumus. Šiame sutarties punkte nurodytas atsakymo į pretenziją pateikimo terminas skaičiuojamas nuo turisto kreipimosi su ištaisytais trūkumais gavimo dienos.

11.4. Jei turisto netenkina kelionių organizatoriaus atsakymas, jis turi teisę dėl to paties ginčo dalyko kreiptis į vartojimo ginčus nagrinėjančią instituciją.

11.5. Ginčai dėl sutarties netinkamo vykdymo ar nevykdymo ne teisme nagrinėjami Lietuvos Respublikos vartotojų teisių apsaugos įstatymo nustatyta tvarka Valstybinėje vartotojų teisių apsaugos tarnyboje, adresu Vilniaus g. 25, 01402 Vilnius, el. p. [email protected], faks. (8 5) 279 1466, interneto svetainė www.vvtat.lt. Elektroniniu būdu prašymą galima pateikti per EGS platformą  http://ec.europa.eu/odr/.

11.6. Turisto kreipimasis į vartojimo ginčus nagrinėjančią instituciją neatima iš turisto teisės kreiptis į bendrosios kompetencijos teismą Lietuvos Respublikos civilinio proceso kodekso nustatyta tvarka su prašymu nagrinėti ginčą iš esmės.

11.7. Sutartis sudaroma dviem egzemplioriais, turinčiais vienodą juridinę galią, po vieną kiekvienai šaliai.

11.8. Jeigu sutartis sudaroma nuotoliniu būdu, kelionių organizatorius be nepagrįsto delsimo po sutarties sudarymo patvariojoje laikmenoje turistui pateikia sutarties kopiją arba sutarties patvirtinimą.

11.9. Ne prekybai skirtose patalpose sudarytos sutarties kopija ar sutarties sudarymo patvirtinimas turistui pateikiami popierine forma arba, jei turistas sutinka, kitoje patvariojoje laikmenoje. Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour review – one of them has a formidable mind, but which?

The odd couple journey through Venice, Florence and Rome in the hope of enlightenment – and mending their broken hearts in the Italian sun. Expect to have your preconceptions challenged …

I n a country where so much of society is still bisected along class lines, many have a very particular image of a clever person – and it’s roughly Stephen Fry. A grand-seeming Oxbridge-educated man with a posh accent and an interest in art and opera, who can recite passages of classic literature. Rob Rinder , the criminal barrister, broadcaster and host of Judge Rinder, fits well into this mould and loves all things “high culture” and intellectual pursuits. He is, as his co-host Rylan Clark says, “one of the cleverest blokes I know”. Meanwhile, Rinder says Clark “doesn’t know his arts from his elbow”. However, over the course of the three episodes of Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour, Clark emerges as the brilliant mind, with levels of intelligence, wit and profundity that may have been overlooked because there remains a perception of what a clever person is like.

The pair position themselves as an odd couple from different sides of the tracks, being good mates, both going through “painful divorces” who, despite their divergent interests, have decided to embark on a journey that represents a fresh start. The series follows them through the “hedonism” of Venice, the Renaissance feast that is Florence and the baroque glory of Rome, replicating a journey made by Lord Byron, 200 years after his death at just 36. But as the series reminds us, this was not just a journey that Byron made: many of the “poshos” of the era would journey to Italy as a rite of passage, a form of cultural education to establish themselves as erudite individuals who understood art, history and the ways of the world.

We first see Rinder in Venice aboard a gondola, wanting to take in the historical traditions of the city. Clark is in a glitzy speedboat and is a little intimidated by all the art and opera ahead. But while Rinder is moved and fascinated by the galleries, concerts and archaeology of this and the other two cities, his response comes across as a little more shallow than Clark’s reflections. When discussing Caravaggio, castratos or the Colosseum, Rinder always seems to give the prototypical clever-person answer, while Clark connects to his surroundings on a molecular level, seeing in ancient ruins existential questions that connect to his own mortality and desire to achieve greatness.

Clark also brings a gorgeous vulnerability to the screen. Not only is he dealing with heartbreak, but also with the lingering insecurity of having been an object of ridicule in his early career. It’s a truly remarkable journey that he has been on, having first come to public attention as the runner-up on Signed By Katie Price before being labelled a “joke act” on The X Factor and finally hitting his stride as a presenter on This Morning, Big Brother’s Bit on the Side and Ready Steady Cook. But even if he is best known for being a larger-than-life camp icon who pokes fun at himself, it has become clear over the years – and is further illuminated by this programme – that Clark is an extremely smart and talented man who should not be underestimated.

The relationship between Rinder and Clark proves surprisingly sweet and tender, too. Although they often fall back into the clever one/silly one shtick, they seem to hold each other in equally high regard. Clark has little ego around the gaps in his knowledge and soaks up what Rinder tells him about the historical significance of the places that they visit. Rinder also gazes at him adoringly when Clark interprets what the Botticellis hanging in the Uffizi or the Venetian mask worn during the carnival symbolise to him.

While Rinder and Clark seem quite transformed by their journey and time together, ending the trip with their hearts a little less broken and open to the possibility of finding love again (albeit with an iron-clad prenup), what’s most interesting about the programme is how it challenges our perception of Clark. For centuries, the Grand Tour was undertaken by those who more closely resembled Rinder, people with the right sort of class and education, unlike Clark, who was a “ginger kid from a council flat in Stepney Green”. But it is lovely to behold where that kid has ended up, see his formidable mind absorb the glories of the journey Byron once embarked on and watch his confidence bloom in the Italian sunshine.

ATM 2024: UAE reveals details of GCC’s Schengen-styled ‘Grand Tours’ visa

The GCC Grand Tours visa will allow tourists to spend more than 30 days in the region

Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy, unveiled plans for the introduction of the ‘GCC Grand Tours’ visa, a unified Gulf tourist visa, during the Arabian Travel Market’s (ATM) opening day.

“In a significant move aimed at simplifying travel logistics and fostering tourism, the Gulf Cooperation Council has given the green light to a unified tourist visa that will allow travellers to visit all six countries,” stated Al Marri.

The GCC Grand Tours visa will allow tourists to spend more than 30 days in the region. According to the minister, this will make travel to the region more convenient and affordable for tourists. It will also increase activity and employment numbers in the region, he added.

Rollout and implementation of visa system

While an official rollout date was not provided, Khalid Jasim Al Midfa of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Authority indicated that the system should be operational by the end of 2024.

“By the end of this year, the whole system should be in place. Many people and teams, led by the Ministry of Economy in the UAE and other ministries in other countries, are working on it tirelessly to make it happen in the best possible way, emphasising digital transformation,” said Al Midfa.

Al Midfa highlighted the collaborative efforts among ministries to ensure a seamless and digitally transformed visa system.

Economic impact and tourism growth

Al Marri emphasised the economic significance of tourism. The minister cited the World Travel and Tourism Council’s (WTTC) research and stated that travel and tourism contributed 11.7 per cent to the UAE’s GDP last year, amounting to Dhs220bn.

“The forecast is set even higher, with an anticipated contribution of 12 per cent to our GDP, equating to Dh236bn,” he added.

“I believe that our regional ambitions should not be to recover to pre-pandemic benchmarks but exceed them merely,” said Al Marri.

Kooij sprints to win 9th stage of Giro d’Italia on grand tour debut. Pogacar keeps overall lead

NAPLES, Italy (AP) — Dutch cyclist Olav Kooij won a bunch sprint for a stage victory on his grand tour debut while Tadej Pogacar maintained his considerable lead after the ninth stage of the Giro d’Italia on Sunday.

Kooij, who rides for Visma-Lease a Bike, edged Jonathan Milan by half a wheel at the end of the 214-kilometer (133-mile) route from Avezzano to Napoli – the second longest day of this Giro. Juan Sebastian Molano was third.

It was a 33rd professional win for the 22-year-old Kooij.

“I was really looking forward to my first grand tour,” Kooij said, adding that despite his previous wins “this one is really one I was dreaming of.”

Jhonatan Narvaez had seemed set for victory after making his move with 7.7 kilometers remaining and he had a gap of 12 seconds heading into the final kilometer.

But, with Pogacar leading a charging peloton for his own fast man Molano, Narvaez was caught just 50 meters from the line.

Milan launched his sprint but he was edged at the line by Kooij.

It had been expected to be a day for the breakaway but only two riders went clear right at the start. Polti–Kometa teammates Mirco Maestri and Andrea Pietrobon had a long and lonely day up front before they were caught with 24 kilometers remaining.

Pogacar remained 2 minutes, 40 seconds ahead of Daniel Martinez overall. Last year’s runner-up Geraint Thomas was 2:58 behind.

“It’s a comfortable gap to go to the rest day, I’m really looking forward for (an) easy day tomorrow,” Pogacar said. “Just relax and try to not think about the race for one day, but it is going to be hard.”

Monday sees the race’s first rest day before a short but difficult leg. Tuesday’s 10th stage starts in Pompei and is just 142 kilometers (88 miles) but features a second-category climb in the middle before the top-classified climb to the finish at Cusano Mutri.

“It’s good to be for rest day in Napoli and let’s hope for some good pizza and good cappuccino,” Pogacar said.

The Giro ends in Rome on May 26.

NAPLES, Italy (AP) — Dutch cyclist Olav Kooij won a bunch sprint for a stage victory on his grand tour debut while Tadej Pogacar maintained his considerable lead after the ninth stage of the Giro d’Italia on Sunday.

Kooij, who rides for Visma-Lease a Bike, edged Jonathan Milan by half a wheel at the end of the 214-kilometer (133-mile) route from Avezzano to Napoli – the second longest day of this Giro. Juan Sebastian Molano was third.

It was a 33rd professional win for the 22-year-old Kooij.

“I was really looking forward to my first grand tour,” Kooij said, adding that despite his previous wins “this one is really one I was dreaming of.”

Jhonatan Narvaez had seemed set for victory after making his move with 7.7 kilometers remaining and he had a gap of 12 seconds heading into the final kilometer.

But, with Pogacar leading a charging peloton for his own fast man Molano, Narvaez was caught just 50 meters from the line.

Milan launched his sprint but he was edged at the line by Kooij.

It had been expected to be a day for the breakaway but only two riders went clear right at the start. Polti–Kometa teammates Mirco Maestri and Andrea Pietrobon had a long and lonely day up front before they were caught with 24 kilometers remaining.

Pogacar remained 2 minutes, 40 seconds ahead of Daniel Martinez overall. Last year’s runner-up Geraint Thomas was 2:58 behind.

“It’s a comfortable gap to go to the rest day, I’m really looking forward for (an) easy day tomorrow,” Pogacar said. “Just relax and try to not think about the race for one day, but it is going to be hard.”

Monday sees the race’s first rest day before a short but difficult leg. Tuesday’s 10th stage starts in Pompei and is just 142 kilometers (88 miles) but features a second-category climb in the middle before the top-classified climb to the finish at Cusano Mutri.

“It’s good to be for rest day in Napoli and let’s hope for some good pizza and good cappuccino,” Pogacar said.

The Giro ends in Rome on May 26.

Madonna Brings Massive Free Concert to Rio, Capping Celebration Tour

The pop superstar performed a final date on her global trek marking four decades of hits: a set on Copacabana Beach before the largest live crowd of her career.

When Madonna stepped out onto the mammoth stage constructed on Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach on Saturday night in a gleaming halo headpiece and black kimono, she was greeted by the largest live crowd of her four-decade career.

The free show, announced in late March, was a grand finale to the pop superstar’s latest world tour, which has delivered 80 performances since last October . Without ticket data, concert crowd sizes can be difficult to gauge; Riotur, the municipality’s tourism department, estimated that 1.6 million people flooded onto the 2.4-mile stretch of sand on Saturday that had been turned into a roughly $12 million playground surrounding the 8,700-square-foot stage.

It was the culmination of days of Madonna-mania in the city, where talk of the singer, 65, was inescapable. Her songs spilled out of stores and car stereos. Fans assembled outside her hotel and shouted her name. Updates about the concert, which was broadcast on the network Globo TV, dominated local media reports.

The spectacle in Rio was a milestone in Madonna’s career: the victory lap for her first stage retrospective, called the Celebration Tour , in which she chronicled her rise to stardom, performing hits like “Into the Groove,” “Like a Prayer” and “Ray of Light” with a cadre of dancers, four of her six children, and a wardrobe of elaborate costuming that recalled some of her most memorable looks.

“Here we are, the most beautiful place in the world,” Madonna announced early in the concert, indicating the ocean and the mountains around her. “This is magic.” Later, she expounded on her gratitude for her Brazilian fans. “You have always been there for me,” she said. “That flag: that green-and-yellow flag, I see it everywhere. I feel it in my heart.”

The two-plus-hour Rio show hewed closely to the Celebration show, with a few exceptions: Madonna added her 2000 track “Music” to the set list, rearranged as a samba with live drummers and a special guest, the Brazilian drag star Pabllo Vittar. “Live to Tell,” staged as a tribute to victims of AIDS , included photographs of the Brazilian musicians Cazuza and Renato Russo, and the actress Sandra Bréa. For “Vogue,” Madonna appeared in a sparkly dress in the colors of the Brazilian flag and was joined by the pop sensation Anitta , who helped “judge” the competitors strutting down the runway.

The show had lifelong Madonna fans — many of whom came dressed in homage to their heroine in cone bras and lace gloves — screaming and dancing along. Ernesto Magalhães, 42, adorned in the style of Madonna’s “Material Girl” era in a gown and boa while balancing on stilts, epitomized the exuberant spirit of the occasion: “I’ve been a Madonna fan since I was 8; I couldn’t miss this.” Surya Rossi, a 31-year-old illustrator, decided on a last-minute trip from Rio Claro, São Paulo, after coordinating with her cousin, and stayed with friends. “Madonna has been a tremendous influence on me, both as a feminist and an artist,” she said. “Her empowering history and approach inspire me.”

It was also something of a landmark moment for live concerts globally. At a time of astronomical ticket prices and rising production costs for major shows, a free concert attracting a crowd of this scale is exceedingly rare, especially in the United States. California’s Coachella festival, where a three-day general admission pass starts at about $500, draws up to 125,000 attendees a day. Musikfest, a mostly free music festival in Pennsylvania, welcomed about 1.3 million visitors over 11 days last year.

“To have a free show like that in recent years is relatively unheard-of,” Katelyn Yount, the director of festivals at AEG Presents, said of Madonna’s closing show. Hangout, an upcoming music festival on Alabama’s Gulf Coast that is among the annual events AEG produces, is capped each day at about 40,000 attendees, who pay more than $300 for a three-day pass.

If a performance of this magnitude was going to be held anywhere in 2024, it would probably be in Rio, where officials have experience with enormous crowds. In 2006, about 1.5 million people attended a free Rolling Stones concert at Copacabana Beach, Brazilian police and other authorities said at the time. An even larger crowd was said to have gathered for a Rod Stewart show there on New Year’s Eve in 1994.

The idea for the sprawling event was first planted two years ago, when Luiz Oscar Niemeyer, an executive with Bonus Track, a live entertainment company based in Rio de Janeiro, approached Madonna’s managers after hearing about plans for the tour. The Rolling Stones concert in 2006 helped convince him that something like this was possible, he said.

Negotiations stalled until last year, when a Madonna show in Mexico City was announced — ticketed dates for the Celebration Tour ended up wrapping with five nights there at the Palacio de los Deportes — and Niemeyer resumed his efforts to convince the pop star’s representatives and secure funding.

“It was an ambitious project for everyone, aiming to attract the largest audience of her career, and I thought this would help me persuade her,” Niemeyer said in an interview last week.

The concert’s corporate backers include the Brazilian bank Itaú and Heineken, and the government has made a significant investment as well.

Preparation for Madonna-palooza had consumed a segment of the city in recent days. A week ago, cargo planes carried about 270 tons of concert material to the city, including costumes and gym equipment. Eighteen sound and video towers were built across the beach, and last Wednesday, 4,000 workers prepared the stage in scorching heat.

Because this was the only Celebration concert in South America — Madonna last toured there in 2012 — fans congregated from all over the continent. In the days leading up to the event, a Madonna impersonator, Izelene Cristina, danced to “La Isla Bonita” at a bus station as she welcomed travelers. She would not be attending the concert because excitement over the superstar’s performance had led to a flood of bookings.

“Such is the life of an artist,” she said. “You work to move and entertain people.”

On Monday, Madonna and her touring team of about 200 arrived in Rio, heading directly to the French Riviera-inspired Copacabana Palace, the luxury hotel near where the stage was built. Later in the week, crowds gathered as close to the stage as possible, as the pop star crossed a specially built footbridge from the hotel to the stage to rehearse with some of her dancers.

Social media was flooded with clips of Madonna running through songs including the opener, “Nothing Really Matters.” “Are you happy? Are you ready?” she asked the assembled crowd at one point . The response: wild cheering. “OK, just checking,” she replied.

At a press briefing ahead of the concert, officials discussed the safety concerns that can accompany an audience of that size and unpredictable weather on the shore. Last year, the Brazilian D.J. Alok scheduled what had been billed as the “concert of the century” on Copacabana Beach, but a storm led part of the crowd to scatter, and concertgoers were faced with rampant pickpocketing , a problem at least some faced on Saturday night as well.

Marco Andrade, a spokesman for the Rio police, told reporters that the department planned to deploy 3,200 officers at the Madonna concert, compared with about 900 for Alok’s event. He said that facial recognition technology would be used at inspection areas, in addition to drones to monitor the crowd. In the end, the audience stretched into the ocean as well — a collection of boats anchored in the waters near the venue.

The atmosphere on the ground Saturday night was like a World Cup event, street carnival and New Year’s Eve celebration combined. Street vendors offered shirts, hats, cups and fans adorned with Madonna’s face and rainbow colors, and a plethora of barbecue, grilled cheese, empanadas and the Brazilian cocktail caipirinhas were available. To fight the heat, a firefighter atop a fire truck sprayed a jet of water on the crowd.

As the show ended with a remix of her 2009 track “Celebration,” Madonna addressed the audience for a final time: “Thank you, Rio,” adding “obrigada,” the equivalent in Portuguese. She smiled and let go of a Brazilian flag, flipped a white veil over her head and descended beneath the stage.

US PGA Championship 2024: Five Things to Know

The US PGA Championship returns to Valhalla Golf Club this week for the second men’s Major Championship of the season. Here are your five things to know.

Valhalla no stranger to championship golf

The 106th edition of the US PGA Championship is the fourth time Valhalla has played host, tied for second most in the history of the event.

Designed by Jack Nicklaus in 1986, the Kentucky-based course staged its first Major Championship in 1996, before subsequent editions in 2000 and most recently 2014.

In 1996, Mark Brooks defeated Kenny Perry on the first play-off hole, while extra holes were also required four years later when Tiger Woods overcame Bob May in a three-hole aggregate play-off to win his third straight Major.

In advance of hosting the event in 2014, Valhalla underwent a big renovation with all 18 greens rebuilt, bunkers added or renovated, and a new irrigation system was installed to help with some drainage issues.

And again, the venue delivered a dramatic climax as Rory McIlroy finished one shot ahead of Phil Mickelson just before darkness to secure him the Wanamaker Trophy for the second time in three years.

The club is also familiar for having staged the 2008 Ryder Cup, two Senior PGA Championships, and a boys and girls Junior PGA Championship.

Since the last US PGA Championship almost a decade ago, Valhalla replaced its former bentgrass fairways with Zeon Zoysiagrass which plays faster and firmer.

Also in 2021, and in another nod to placing a greater importance on accuracy off the tee, the club also removed the strips of bluegrass rough between the fairways and fairway bunkers, meaning even slightly misplaced shots can find trouble.

Koepka defends

Brooks Koepka claimed his third US PGA Championship title with a two-shot victory over Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler at Oak Hill Country Club last year.

The pivotal moment of last year’s final round came at the 16th when Hovland – trailing by one shot at the time – made a double bogey after his second shot embedded into the face of a fairway bunker while Koepka made birdie to open a four-stroke lead.

By lifting the Wanamaker Trophy for the third time, the American became the 20th male golfer to win five Majors.

He also became the sixth player to win the championship on three or more occasions - joining Walter Hagen and Jack Nicklaus (five), Tiger Woods (four), Gene Sarazen and Sam Snead (three).

Victory this week would see him become the first player to successfully defend the title since he went back-to-back in 2018 and 2019 at Bellerive and Bethpage Black respectively.

Since finishing just outside the top 20 at the Masters Tournament, he has won on his last two starts on the PGA TOUR at the Wells Fargo Championship and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans alongside Shane Lowry.

Like Quail Hollow was last week, Valhalla is another venue with good memories for McIlroy, having clinched the most recent of his four Major wins here almost a decade ago.

At the time, it was his third win in a row, having emerged victorious at the Open Championship and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in his previous two starts. Could history repeat itself this week?

While Major triumphs have since proven elusive for the Northern Irishman, he still has won worldwide with regularity in the intervening years while coming up just short on a few occasions at golf’s biggest events.

The signs are encouraging but to end that long wait to add to his Major haul, he will likely have to outperform a player who is on a run of form comparable to the dominance Tiger Woods enjoyed.

Scheffler goes for second leg of the Grand Slam

After skipping last week’s stop on the PGA TOUR at the Wells Fargo Championship, World Number One Scheffler embarks on the second leg of the Grand Slam at the US PGA Championship with a report over the weekend suggesting his wife Meredith has given birth to their first child.

Unquestionably the dominant force in the men’s game this year, the American has won on four of last five starts and finished second in the other.

That run includes claiming a second Green Jacket at last month’s Masters and becoming the first player to successfully defend THE PLAYERS Championship.

Even if it has been three weeks since his most recent victory at the RBC Heritage, he still comes into the week as the pre-tournament favourite.

Less than a month on from finishing runner-up on his Major debut, Ludvig Åberg will hope to go one better and add another chapter in his remarkable rise since turning professional less than a year ago.
