Ellie Goulding was announced as this year’s recipient of The Perfect World Foundation Award, following in the footsteps of previous recipients such as Sir David Attenborough , Dr. Jane Goodall , and HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco .

This prestigious conservation award, presented annually by the wildlife and nature organization The Perfect World Foundation, honors individuals who have significantly contributed to the preservation of the planet’s wildlife and nature. The award ceremony took place on September 5 in Gothenburg, graced by the presence of Sarah, Duchess of York , who presented the award to Ellie Goulding.

With over 18 million albums and 140 million singles sold globally, resulting in 23 billion streams, Ellie Goulding has leveraged her significant social media presence of over 50 million followers combined to champion environmental causes. Her role as a Global Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme ( UNEP ) and her active participation in major environmental summits, including three COPs, underscore her commitment to these issues.

Ellie Goulding’s passionate environmental activism was formally acknowledged by The Perfect World Foundation with the announcement as the recipient of one of the world’s most prestigious conservation awards, The Perfect World Foundation Award. The award is given annually to recognize a prominent individual for their significant contributions to conservation efforts and raising global awareness about the critical need to protect our planet’s wildlife, environment, and biodiversity. Ellie Goulding, the 11th recipient of this award, joined an esteemed group of past recipients including Sir David Attenborough, Dr. Jane Goodall, and HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Upon being honored as this year’s recipient of the award, Ellie Goulding was also named as The Conservationist of the Year 2024. In a video accepting the award, Goulding expressed her humility, saying, “I don’t feel like I deserve it, but I will continue to do everything I can. The wildlife and biodiversity of this planet are under threat, with over 1 million species at the brink of extinction.”

Ragnhild Jacobsson, CEO and co-founder of The Perfect World Foundation, praised Goulding’s efforts: “Ellie Goulding is a respected force as a climate and nature champion. Her inspirational efforts to mobilize the youth in saving our planet’s biological diversity are admirable. We are proud to honor her as this year’s recipient.”

The award ceremony, which took place on September 5 in Gothenburg, was an event featuring celebrities, philanthropists, and conservationists gathering to celebrate Goulding’s philanthropy and raise awareness for global conservation efforts. Sarah, Duchess of York and global ambassador for The Perfect World Foundation, presented the award.

Ellie Goulding is passionate about reducing her own industry’s carbon and resource footprint and has worked hard to remove single-use plastic from physical album releases and merchandise. Her last UK tour was carbon neutral and she continues to set standards for decarbonisation and eco messaging in the music industry. She frequently incentivises eco action for her fans and believes strongly that everyone should be invited to choose a future on a healthy planet. `The climate and nature crisis is very serious,’ says Ellie, `but doom and gloom doesn’t work. We have solutions, ingenuity, community, and enthusiasm. I believe in positive action and in doing what you can right now.’

Established in Sweden in the early 2000s, The Perfect World Foundation focuses on supporting wildlife and nature in crisis and preserving local and global biodiversity. The organization actively spreads knowledge through various events and creates conditions for driving its own initiatives, as well as supporting a number of independent grassroots projects around the world.

News: Ellie Goulding Announces Broods As Support For Aus/NZ Tour

(Australia)  Frontier Touring is pleased to announce that brother-sister duo Broods will be joining Ellie Goulding on her forthcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand!

This tops off what has been a huge year for Georgia and Caleb Nott from Nelson, New Zealand with the release of their hugely successful debut single ‘Bridges’ (watch the clip for ‘Bridges’ here ) and their first self-titled EP (download Broods EP here ).

Since its release in October last year, the single has racked up almost half a million plays on Soundcloud, in addition to the duo nearing 12,000 likes on Facebook!

The synth-pop duo captured the attention of listeners and tastemakers immediately with their sparkling mix of tinkling notes and bold synth beats, in addition to Georgia’s dulcet tones. Co-written and produced by Joel Little, who produced the entirety of Lorde’s hugely successful album Pure Heroine, not to mention the Grammy Award winning single ‘Royals’, the release of ‘Bridges’ saw the duo catapulted into the spotlight.

The success of ‘Bridges’ saw Broods signing label deals with Capitol Records in the U.S and Polydor in the U.K late last year.

In the few short months following its release, ‘Bridges’ came in at number 131 in triple j’s yearly music poll, which included the votes of almost 1.5 million listeners – giving us a glimpse of big things to come for the duo!

The debut Broods EP is out now digitally through Universal, due for in store release this week. The EP has been met with great excitement and rave reviews since the stream of the full EP was made available on Thursday 30 January.

Multi-instrumentalist Caleb and vocalist Georgia only formed in early 2013, but definitely have listeners all over the world paying close attention. The pair are about to embark on a North American tour to support their self-titled EP before joining Ellie Goulding on her Australian and New Zealand tour once she wraps up playing to packed out crowds in Europe before finishing up at London’s O2 Arena.

Ellie Goulding is a pop singer/songwriter born on the 30th of December 1986 and hailing from Lyonshall, Herefordshire, England. After topping the BBC’s Sound Of 2010 poll she became a major player in British pop music, enjoying hits on both sides of the Atlantic and all over the world.

By and large, it’s advisable not to listen when someone tells you that an artist is going to be the biggest name in music by the end of the year. They’re wrong in most cases whether they’re the BBC or your mate who saw them when their mates band opened for them, but from time to time, they can be right on the money. Of course, a lot of the time anyone can see that they’re going to be massive, and that’s exactly what happened with Ellie Goulding, the only confusing thing was how world-conqueringly huge she got in such a small period of time, but anyone who saw her perform or heard her songs could tell that she was destined for greatness.

You might have even been able to see it before she had even left secondary school. Goulding had always been musical, taking up the clarinet when she was nine and the guitar by the age of14, but when she was 15 she entered and won a singing contest with a composition of her own. She continued writing her own material while at university, and it was when she took part in a talent show while she was there that she was spotted by Jamie Lillywhite of First Turn Artists, a management team that she successfully auditioned for a couple of months later. Lillywhite became her manager and by July 2009, Goulding had signed to Polydor records.

Almost immediately she was running with the big leagues, a performance on Later… With Jools Holland rose her profile dramatically, as did a tour supporting Little Boots, but the start of 2010 saw the moment where Ellie Goulding became a star. The BBC Sound Of 2010 poll showcased the music industry’s top choices for the next big artists of the coming year. At that point, previous winners had been Adele, 50 Cent and Keane, so this obviously carries a little more weight than most, and in 2010, they gave it to Goulding.

Mere months after that she won the critics’ choice BRIT Award and after that, all bets were off. By the end of 2010 “Lights”, her debut album, had gone straight to number one, has since sold a million copies worldwide and the title track was a number two hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Live, she’s opened for everyone from the Dave Matthews Band to Katy Perry to U2 and her second album, “Halcyon”, saw her go even further, headlining arena concerts in her home country and working with everyone from Skrillex to Calvin Harris to Angel Haze. She’s at the top of her game, and will remain there for years to come, so what comes next is going to be truly spectacular.

Ellie Goulding is now a household name in both her UK homeland and the US thanks to the success of 'Lights'. Her live show is now a melange of cult favourites that propelled her to stardom such as 'Guns & Horses' with the commercial pop/production driven mega-hits such as 'Burn'.

Ellie tackles each track with the same form of intensity, from the opening reverberations of 'Don't Say A Word' she stands with determination centre-stage and delivers each note with proud intonation in that unique vocal style. 'Figure 8' is a highlighted moment as she forcefully beats her snare drum with aggressive force as the crowds cheer her on.

A tender cover of Active Child's 'Hanging On' chills the air in the venue as her pained vocal hits every single note on point. She winds down her main set with a plethora of hits which now include 'Anything Could Happen', 'Starry Eyed' and 'I Need Your Love', her collaboration with Calvin Harris.

'Lights' makes for a dramatic encore as from the intro the audience cheer and dance as Ellie launches into an extended version as the track breaks down into a piece of house/dance. It's no secret that Ellie's musical style has changed since breaking the States, yet her credibility and intent as a musician remains solid.

I'm finding it so hard to find words that perfectly describe last night's #deliriumworldtour concert. It was wonderfully balanced with a range of Ellie's more upbeat, EDM tracks and also her lighter, more relaxed numbers (including a handful of beautiful acoustic sounds). With the odd spot of conversation between songs proved how human and raw Ellie actually is (unlike some singers who do nothing to interact with their audience) and it really added to the intensity and uniqueness of the performance. The atmosphere created was very tense and enjoyable; it felt both exhilarating and relaxed depending on the song and mood. As an audience, I could see that everyone had really connected with the performance and performers-whenever Ellie was speaking, everyone was silent, listening intently to her. That bond that we had with her and the band was very special and singular. I could go on and on but I'll just end by saying by far, this is the best concert from Ellie that I have ever experienced. I really wish I could relive it again and again!

Ellie Goulding is one of the most talented, biggest artists to emerge from England these past few years. She has one of the most authentically and uniquely beautiful voices I have ever heard live, a rare gift for many famous singers these days, most of who are heavily manufactured. Better yet, because she writes her own songs, you can actually feel genuine emotion in her voice when she sings and it is clear that her songs have meaning. Indeed, Ellie performed a range of songs including some of her earlier tracks that are less well known, and it was these more obscure songs that often felt the most emotive and real. Nonetheless, hits such as ‘Burn’, ‘Anything Could Happen’, ‘I Need Your Love’ and ‘Lights’ were still all great to listen to and the crowd reaction for each was fantastic, creating a great party atmosphere as the crowd danced and sang along. ‘How Long Will You Love Me’ was a nice acoustic break and was performed beautifully, as was Fifty Shades of Grey hit ‘Love Me Like You Do’, which caused mass swaying.

Amazing...! Ellie was in fine form. Singing was bang on, dancing was in her own usual "don't give a f**k" style. Her dance team managed pauses for costume changes well and it didn't feel intrusive, as it sometimes can. Her set ranged from much loved classics such as burn, right through to an acoustic version of Devotion from her new album (which was far superior to the more "dance" oriented album version) and everything in between.

John Newman was the main support act, but felt a little out of sorts. Years and Years are supporting the US leg of the tour and I feel they would have been a better choice to support in Europe as well.

I am used to watching Ellie Goulding in small intimate gigs which are very personal and usually key to hearing her raspy and elegant tones. Slightly neverous if the O2 areana wouldn't give her the credit she deserved, I was completely blown away how amazingly she filled the whole stadium with sound while still having intimate moments on the slower Ballards. The intros/outfit change videos were perfectly edited and incredibly creative! Always been a fan but massive respect for this (super) woman now just proving how she can rock and fill any stadium. One of the best gigs I've seen at the 02 to date!

I saw Ellie Goulding back in 2011 at the House of Blues in Boston and it was one of the best shows I have ever been too. It was right before the the record Lights blew up stateside and you just knew she had what it takes to be big time.

Bag raiders were the opening act and it helped set the tone for an energetic and really fun evening. Ellie's voice is incredible live and the performances were so upbeat and energetic.

If you are looking for an incredibly talented singer but still want to move your groove, I would recommend seeing Ellie Goulding.

What an amazing experience! The production value was super high, opening with an ethereal video until Ellie Goulding herself appeared on the stage in smoke and color. If you like her music, you'll be blown away seeing her live. She's an even better vocalist than her albums suggest. She's also a great performer in general, even if she gets nervous talking to the audience. It was great to hear the stories behind the songs. The whole thing was just the greatest dance party. I'm still finding confetti from it weeks later!

The show was amazing! Including the opening by Bebe Rexha and Years & Years Ellie has an amazing voice. Too bad some people were inconsiderate, drunk, smoking weed and kept interrupting me and my friends from having fun. I got beer spilled on my foot, a pretty hard hit on the head and smoke all over me. I was being pushed and hit repeatedly the entire night by these people. I mean I would have expected this at the club. But at an Ellie Goulding Concert? I'm never going to the pit again. I just wanted to see Ellie.

The concert was amazing. Years and Years had opened up for Ellie, along with Bebe Rexha and it was well worth the wait. I would pay even more to go again. The GA pits were wonderful and I had a nice view the entire time, the ticket prices were also extremely well priced. Ellie Goulding is a amazing performer and there was not a dull moment in the show. I plan to attend many many more Ellie Goulding concerts thanks to Songkick.

I can't believe I could see Ellie Goulding with my eyes in front of me in that stage. It was a dream become true. Moreover, I loved the performances from John Newman and Olly Alexander. I hope many people being homeless have the opportunity to have a happy Christmas and someone who spend it with them. Ellie, I love ur voice and the talent u have to convey ur feelings to people. I hope I can see u again soon.

Concert review: Ellie Goulding: Delirium World Tour

British pop star Ellie Goulding.

It's been six years since Ellie Goulding first exploded on to the pop music scene. She has scored prominent gigs, such as performing at Kate and Wills' wedding, but has not been portrayed as a dominant force comparable with Taylor Swift or Katy Perry. If her show at Auckland's Vector Arena on Saturday night is anything to go by, she definitely has the talent to place her among and above her peers. While it was not a huge spectacle - the main set piece was a giant screen that seems compulsory in pop concerts - Goulding's vocals were the main draw and she delivered perfectly. Some of her songs are electronic but, right from opening number Aftertaste , there was never any doubt Goulding was singing live and absolutely slaying it. The absence of some of her biggest hits, Lights and Goodness Gracious , was notable and disappointing, but she made up for it with solid vocals on tracks Still Falling for You and Figure 8 . Her set was neatly constructed so it flowed between genres and tones without ever jarring. She came out in a fluoro spandex one-piece for the electric pairing of Keep on Dancing and Don't Need Nobody ¸ before changing into a lacy wedding-style dress for her quieter numbers, using quirkier songs like I Do What I Want as segues so that the majority of her 22-piece album was covered. More could have been done with the staging. The giant screen was a distraction rather than adding to the show, outside of fan-anthem Army where the cameras were turned on the audience, generating much excitement. Goulding brought just four dancers, who were there sporadically but added more colour than the strobe-lights did. Aside from that, it was no more stylish than local band Openside's opening act, which was enjoyable, promising, but totally unremarkable in its staging. Goulding's audience interaction was not particularly special. Telling the audience how much you love them feels like a necessity when you have this type of following, and choosing to follow it up with Devotion was rather on the nose. She used the excuse of feeling shy to not talk much, which was an odd thing to say to an almost full stadium. Saving Anything Could Happen and Love Me Like You Do for the encore was a great way to end the show, particularly with a rainbow confetti canon giving the last song a low-key equal rights message. Goulding's voice alone made her show more than value for money, though if her story about playing in bars to 20 people is anything to go by; it's a talent that may be better served to low-key shows than trying to put on a theatrical spectacle. She is an enormously talented singer, and with a diverse arsenal of electro-pop hits at her disposal, she will hopefully continue to rise. In Review: Ellie Goulding – Delirium World Tour

After a cancelation from Years and Years, the original intended opening act for the Delirium World Tour, what better to do than get an Auckland band to open the night at Vector Arena!

After the concert in Christchurch at the Horncastle Arena, Openside returned to their hometown to once again open the stage for Ellie and her Army.

Lead singer Possum Plows, joined by George Powell on the drums, PJ Shepherd on the guitar, and Harry Carter on the bass opened their set with their own All I Really Want . A band described in Possum’s own words as “equal parts tangy, flavourful plus comforting and familiar,” was definitely a good choice to start the night with their upbeat and energetic style.

Following their songs Worth It and Down The Drain , they covered Major Lazer’s Lean On which really got the crowd pumped. They then smashed out their own Push Back and Letting It Out before finishing up with Branches .

Perhaps being able to hear the vocals over the drums and bass would have helped for those who weren’t familiar with Openside and their songs, as the biggest response from the crowd was to Lean On – which was to be expected.

Following a break in which the arena steadily filled up on all sides, Ellie entered the arena from the rear of the stage while her dancers crouched waiting at the forefront. To screams and cheers she opened with Holding On For Life in a black outfit, with her dancers in gladiator-styled black leather jackets and jeans.

Over the course of the show Ellie had several costume changes, stripping down with the help of her dancers to a simplified version of her opening outfit. The most striking and symbolic costume change was when Ellie returned to the stage after an intermission, barefoot in a white gown symbolic of a Māori feather cloak, clutching a New Zealand flag. This personalised touch was a gesture which will only increase the respect her fans already have for her.

There was a good balance with the use of her male support dancers, Jordan Melch, Ross Sands, Jackson Williams and Remi Black sharing the stage at times, while leaving Ellie to sing unaccompanied for a few of her songs. Matching clean, sharp and fast-paced transitions in their choreography with more slow and intimate routines, her dancers were able to make use of the whole stage space, which only served to compliment Ellie’s powerhouse voice.

The interaction Ellie sustained with her audience throughout the show was the touch that really personalised the night. From the brief explanations behind why she’d written some of her songs, to talking about the progression through her career and the use of technology, she made everyone feel included.

Firstly she embraced the advantages of technology: “I started off with some of my crazy women just around me singing in the club. As well I sort of nearly got kicked out… but anyway what I’m trying to say is, my point is, now lots of people are watching me sing and it’s awesome! So if you have a light please shine it.”

Towards the end of her show, she sat down on the edge of the stage with a few of her dancers and asked for it to be like the old days before technology, when people didn’t take videos and pictures.

“Let’s enjoy it together and maybe not take pictures because I’ve been doing shows for like 8 years or so and it’s kinda been a gradual process. In the beginning, it was just like faces and people watching and now it’s quite a lot of: People aren’t actually watching! They’re filming through their phones…

It basically makes no sense to me because they’re just watching through their phone and not with their eyeballs. I don’t get that.”

She finished the night by thanking her band, her backing singers and support dancers, and lastly addressing the crowd, saying, “Thank you, you mean so much to me. For now I will say goodnight.”

Global music icon ellie goulding received the perfect world foundation's honorary conservation award in sweden.

GOTHENBURG, Sweden , Sept. 7, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Ellie Goulding was announced as this year's recipient of The Perfect World Foundation Award, following in the footsteps of previous recipients such as Sir David Attenborough , Dr. Jane Goodall , and HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco . This prestigious conservation award, presented annually by the wildlife and nature organization The Perfect World Foundation, honors individuals who have significantly contributed to the preservation of the planet's wildlife and nature. The award ceremony took place on September 5 in Gothenburg , graced by the presence of Sarah, Duchess of York, who presented the award to Ellie Goulding .

With over 18 million albums and 140 million singles sold globally, resulting in 23 billion streams, Ellie Goulding has leveraged her significant social media presence of over 50 million followers combined to champion environmental causes. Her role as a Global Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and her active participation in major environmental summits, including three COPs, underscore her commitment to these issues.

Ellie Goulding's passionate environmental activism was formally acknowledged by The Perfect World Foundation with the announcement as the recipient of one of the world's most prestigious conservation awards, The Perfect World Foundation Award. The award is given annually to recognize a prominent individual for their significant contributions to conservation efforts and raising global awareness about the critical need to protect our planet's wildlife, environment, and biodiversity. Ellie Goulding , the 11th recipient of this award, joined an esteemed group of past recipients including Sir David Attenborough , Dr. Jane Goodall , and HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco .

Upon being honored as this year's recipient of the award, Ellie Goulding was also named as The Conservationist of the Year 2024. In a video accepting the award, Goulding expressed her humility, saying, "I don't feel like I deserve it, but I will continue to do everything I can. The wildlife and biodiversity of this planet are under threat, with over 1 million species at the brink of extinction."

The award ceremony, which took place on September 5 in Gothenburg , was an event featuring celebrities, philanthropists, and conservationists gathering to celebrate Goulding's philanthropy and raise awareness for global conservation efforts. Sarah, Duchess of York and global ambassador for The Perfect World Foundation, presented the award.

Ellie Goulding is passionate about reducing her own industry's carbon and resource footprint and has worked hard to remove single-use plastic from physical album releases and merchandise. Her last UK tour was carbon neutral and she continues to set standards for decarbonisation and eco messaging in the music industry. Ellie Goulding  is set to deliver an electrifying live performance to audiences in Auckland , Wellington and Christchurch . 

With over 15 million singles and 4 million album sales worldwide, Frontier Touring is thrilled to announce that Ellie Goulding is bringing her exquisite voice and unique brand of indietronica to New Zealand for a tour in May and June 2014!  

The songstress embarks on her European tour in January 2014, before a final show at London’s The O2 Arena in March 2014, which is part of a UK Arena tour after unprecedented demand following her recent sold out shows in Britain.  

Having toured with Bruno Mars in the US earlier this year, Ellie recently performed her No.1 UK smash hit ‘Burn’ on The Ellen Show. During her US visit, Goulding also joined Katy Perry on stage at the Hollywood Bowl in LA for a powerful performance of Katy’s hit ‘Roar’.       

In October 2012, Ellie released her sophomore album Halycon (out now through Universal) which spawned the hit single ‘Anything Could Happen’ (watch the clip here) which reached #20 on the ARIA singles chart, #5 on the UK and Scottish singles chart and #1 on the US Hot Dance Club Songs Chart. It is with regret that Frontier Touring advise that Ellie Goulding’s Adelaide and Perth show dates on the Delirium World Tour have been cancelled due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict. All other Australian and New Zealand concerts are unaffected and will proceed as scheduled.

Frontier Touring sincerely apologises to all those affected by this cancellation. Existing ticketholders are entitled to a refund and should note the below details from the authorised ticketing agency, Ticketek:

UPDATE: After wild rumours of Years & Years and Ellie Goulding having a falling-out (and hence, their exit from her Australasian tour) started circulating, we decided to investigate the actual truth of the matter, because as Oscar Wilde once accurately summarised... "When you assume, you make an ass out of u and me."

So, we asked Ellie herself, to fill us in on the haps.

About the Internet’s Y&Y vs. Ellie feud rumours, Ellie says:

"Completely untrue... I've never fallen out with anyone in my life  ???? can you imagine?! I think they decided it was too expensive because I had to cancel the last two shows. It's a long way to go and takes a lot of work... I love those guys. It was tough with all the cancelling on my tour this year but couldn't be helped. I even supported myself on one of the nights!"

So. There you have it. No un-friending. Just Australasian-geographical-isolation and the machinations of the modern-day-music-industry working against our very far away continent.

Years & Years may or may not be opening for Ellie Goulding on the upcoming Australasian leg of her Delirium Tour - but no-one really knows what is going on, so it’s anyone’s guess really.

Earlier today, Years & Years posted a geoblocked message on their Facebook account announcing their Australian cancellation, but with no mention of New Zealand:

"Hi guys, we are very sorry to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control we are unable to support Ellie Goulding on her October Australian tour. We hope to be back in Australia as soon as possible next year."

Following that, Frontier Touring confirmed the announcement via their social media channels as well, and included NZ.

Now, Ellie Goulding herself has questioned the news...

WHAT IS GOING ON?!

Anyway... apparently the new New Zealand opening act will be announced soon. We’re praying for Victoria Sponge.

Ellie Goulding Announces Special Intimate U.S. Shows This Fall With Orchestra

Tickets for all shows go on sale widely on Friday, September 8, at 10am PDT.

Multiplatinum-selling singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding has announced a limited three-night-run of special concert events in the U.S. this fall.

The three shows include New York City on Thursday, November 16, at the Kings Theatre with the Wordless Music Orchestra; San Francisco on Monday, November 20, at Davies Symphony Hall with the San Francisco Symphony; and Los Angeles on Wednesday, November 22, where she makes her Walt Disney Concert Hall debut with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.

Spending eight weeks at #1 with her Calvin Harris collab “Miracle,” her new album Higher Than Heaven also became her fourth chart-topping LP. Ellie now joins Adele as the British female solo artist with the most Number 1 albums to their name, with four apiece. “Miracle” also topped the U.S. Dance Radio Chart, while the song has over 434 million global streams.  

To date, Ellie Goulding has earned 10 platinum singles, four #1 UK albums, two BRIT Awards, a Grammy Award nomination, and a Golden Globe nomination. She has sold over 28 million albums and 230 million singles and amassed 50 billion streams worldwide. Ellie is also one of the most streamed female artists on Spotify with over 8 billion streams. With more than 50 million followers combined on her social platforms, she earned YouTube’s Diamond Award with 10 million subscribers on her YouTube channel and over 6.8 billion views globally.   

A long-standing activist and philanthropist, Ellie uses her platform to engage young people with global issues. Her environmental work dates to 2017, when she was awarded the UN’s New Voices Award; in recognition of her wider activism, she became a goodwill ambassador for UN Environment. In 2022 Ellie also became a TIME100 Impact Award winner, was named an ambassador for the WWF, and was honored by the UN Association as a Humanitarian of the Year.
