Frequently asked questions about learning journey for students in singapore.

Our curated educational tours offer students an interactive deep dive into Singapore's most illustrious landmarks through exploration-based challenges. Each location is an opportunity to unravel the threads of innovation, culture, and history that weave together the fabric of this vibrant city. Here's what each unique value-based learning journey location has to offer:

Students will embark on a Marina Bay Sands tour and immerse themselves in the architectural marvel of MBS, understanding its sustainable design and how it complements Singapore's urban landscape. They'll explore the integration of luxury tourism and environmental strategies, gaining insights into advanced urban planning and development.

For our Jewel tour , students experience a harmonic blend of nature and cutting-edge design. They'll study its world-class facilities, understanding how this iconic destination enhances the travel experience and contributes to Singapore's status as a global hub.

Vivocity offers students insights into Singapore's retail ecosystem, showcasing the dynamics of mall management, customer engagement, and the strategic design of one of Asia's most prominent shopping hubs.

Suntec City

Suntec City provides a case study in mixed-use development, revealing the complexities of large-scale property management and the importance of creating integrated spaces for work, leisure, and retail in a metropolitan setting.

Our learning journeys adopt a game-based approach, with exploration-based challenges that are crafted to cater to a wide range of educational levels, typically suitable for students aged 10 and up. We can tailor each authentic learning journey to fit your institution's specific curricular needs, ensuring that the educational experience aligns perfectly with your objectives. The student-centric learning journeys are suitable for Visual Learners, Audio Learners and Kinesthetic Learners as well.

Absolutely, our learning journeys are not a one-size-fits-all solution. We pride ourselves on our ability to tailor each tour to align with the specific educational goals and curriculum requirements of your institution. Whether it's a focus on sustainability, character and citizenship education, National Education (NE), or Education and Career Guidance (ECG), we consult closely with educators to craft a bespoke itinerary that maximises authentic learning outcomes and high student engagement. This personalised approach ensures the educational experience is relevant, insightful, and perfectly suited to the students' needs.

To ensure a high-quality, personalised experience, we recommend booking learning journeys at least one month in advance. This allows us to customise the programme to best suit your institution’s needs and to secure the availability of venues and resources.

What sets our educational tours apart is our commitment to not just show, but to engage and inspire. We go beyond the surface, delving into the stories behind each location, fostering critical thinking and real-world connections that textbooks alone cannot provide. Our interactive approach ensures that every learning journey with us is an inspiring chapter in the students' educational story. The educational tours are suitable for enhancing the learning of National Education (NE) topics, as well as for orientation and post-exam activities.

Top 15 Places in Singapore for Educational Trips

An education is rarely gained solely inside the four walls of a classroom. Extending your classroom to include the wonders of the outside world promises a learning experience that broadens your child’s horizons , and awakens their passions at the same time.

Notably, Singapore faces no shortage of fascinating places to take your kids. Whether they’re in their infancy, learning their times-tables or on the eve of their final exams, they are bound to find a place of interest that tickles their fancy. So, without further ado, let’s explore the numerous places available for some enriching trips.

Beginning with “Arts and Culture”, I have listed the best places beneath the themes or subjects they best serve.

Everything “Arts and Culture”

  • The National Gallery of Singapore

The largest and most stately museum of the city, the National Gallery exhibits a wide array of stunning artwork, historical artefacts, intricate sculptures. Hosting over 9000 assets, the gallery displays every flavour of Southeast Asian art and culture.

Whether you’re into vintage Vietnamese, modernist Malaysian or a dose of 19 th century Chinese, this place has it all. Art has its way of telling stories, stories from the past, stories from the heart and stories of the unheard. A little dabble into its artistic charms is sure to widen your and your child’s perspective.

To maximise the learning experience, you can also join one of the guides tours, interactive workshops or the occasional outdoor movie screenings!

  • Haw Par Villa

Simply said, the Haw Par Villa looks like a magical and mystical realm from the valleys of ancient China. 8.5 hectares large, and as old as 1937, the gardens at Haw Park are filled with ancient Chinese history, heritage and folklore. In fact, some of its artefacts even border on the “surreal” and “strange”, arousing the fascination of many visitors and tourists.

A visit to Haw Park is bound to stretch the frontiers of your child’s imagination, so don’t forget this one in your itinerary!

Science and Technology

  • Singapore Science Centre

If art, history or foodie delights fail to inspire you or your children, then your mind may find a home in the Science Centre’s chic exhibits. Singapore’s Science Centre has tonnes of interesting things to offer, including exhibitions on where “phobias come from” to close-up shows of a butterfly’s birth. If anyone is craving a sneaky adventure, you can walk through its “maze of infinite reflections and endless hallways” and see how quickly you make it out.

But to make a long story short, the Science Museum has far too much to see that can ever be put in a single paragraph. Need I say more?

  • Radio Station Tours

If your child has shown an interest in news and media, then a visit to a radio station is a good place to start their voyage of discovery! Radio plays an important part in our lives, keeping us informed of fast-changing events across the world, and hosting many entertaining shows and talks. You will be toured around the studio, its many rooms, and shown all the flashy equipment that goes into radio production.

If you wish, your child can also go “live” on radio and enjoy their small moment of fame. Many radio hosts of the future shall arise from such visits, which could include your kids, too!

  • Singapore Tampines Regional Library

For the bookworms out there, the Singapore Tampines Regional Library will never fail to impress. Hosting over 400,000 books, a culinary studio, and even a running track, this library is truly the deluxe package for book-lovers! It’s also the most technologically-advanced library in town, with its PIXEL labs and instant book dispensers. And, if reading isn’t exciting enough, you can always visit the play area or the PIXEL hub, where you can see real 3D printers in action.

All in all, a highly recommended destination for an educational trip.

  • Singapore Air Force Museum

Despite Singapore’s size, the Singaporean military boasts one of the most technologically advanced and sophisticated air forces in the whole region. Visit the Air Force museum to teach your children how Singapore’s Air Force scares off its enemies.

Take a seat in the fighter jets and helicopters, or take a little walk around the missile gallery and explore the hidden power of these jaw-dropping weapons. To make things a little more interesting, the tour guides are led by a platoon of retired air force officers, who’ll have no shortage of exciting stories to share on their countless adventures in the sky.

  • Ion Sky Park

For the aspiring meteorologists out there, give the Ion Sky Park a go! Located on the 55 th floor of the Orchard Ion, it offers stunning views of Singapore’s skyline. What’s more, it houses a multimedia exhibition where you can learn more about the skies that blanket Singapore, as well the history of Singapore as a bustling city-state.

This makes the Ion Sky Park a place where your child can build both their scientific knowledge as well as their historical awareness, all in a single trip!

Jewels of Nature

  • The Singapore Zoo

Singapore Zoo is brimming with a diverse range of animals from faraway lands.  The scary, the cute, the gory and the fluffy, Singapore Zoo has it all. Whether it’s a giant tortoise or a multi-coloured chameleon, this place is bound to show you a species you may never have imagined. Architectural Sights to Savour

  • The Marina Barrage

The Marina Barrage is not only a “dam”, but a breath-taking piece of civil engineering. It falls at the confluence of five rivers and harnesses the energy of water to power the communities of Singapore. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be a place to learn and enjoy! In fact, the Marina Barrage is the perfect location to have a splash-filled adventure, to build one’s confidence in water sports, or simply learn what makes this dam so effective! You can drop into its educational centre to learn more about the dam and its contribution to the environment’s health. There, you’ll find a wide array of educational resources, multi-media displays, and some engaging games.

Once you’re done, finish the experience with a captivating view of the reservoir, and head to the green rooftop built entirely with renewable materials!

Building on the theme of the Marina Barrage, Newater is a water-recycling plant that purifies our water supply and transforms raw-sewage into clean-drinking water for everyone. Interestingly, it provides the nation with water that’s cleaner than even ordinary tap-water. What’s more, this plant alone fulfils 40% of Singapore’s water needs, making it a vital element in keeping Singapore hydrated!

If you’d like to discover the magical formula driving this water-recycling plant, then join one of its guided tours to gain a deeper glimpse into its nuts and bolts. Once the tour is complete, you can visit the shop and purchase a water bottle filled with water directly sourced from the reservoir, and taste the freshness for yourself!

Constructed at a cost of S $63 million, the Night Safari was officially opened on 26 May 1994 and occupies 40 hectares (99 acres) of secondary rainforest adjacent to the Singapore and Upper Seletar Reservoir. Night Safari currently houses 1,040 animals representing 120 species of which 29% are endangered species. After your return back to the hotel, overnight at the Hotel.

Day 2 Singapore

Wake up in the morning, have your breakfast and proceed for the City Tour of Singapore. Visit the beautiful city of Singapore, guided by a Tour Director, and visit the following City Hall, Parliament House, Supreme Court, the Tower-like Westin Stamford Hotel, and Mount Faber.

Visit Merlion Park which is located near Marina Bay, Singapore. This park is a popular tourist attraction. Two structures of the Merlion are located here and it is a major tourist attraction and a landmark of Singapore.

Also visit Chijmes which is a historic building complex in Singapore, which began life as a Catholic convent was known as the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus and convent quarters are known as Caldwell House. Parliament House of Singapore is a public building and cultural landmark and houses the Parliament of Singapore. The building was designed to represent a contemporary architectural expression of stateliness and authority. The prism-shaped top, designed by the late former president Ong Teng Cheong, was similarly a modernist take on the traditional dome. Istana is the official residence and office of the President of Singapore. Meaning “palace” in Malay is where the president receives and entertains state guests. After the palace tour experience the Dalhousie Obelisk, Old Parliament House, the elephant statue, Sun Yat-Sen Nan Yang Memorial Hall, and the Gems Factory.

Since its inception, The Float Marina Bay has hosted events such as the National Day Parade, New Year’s Eve Countdown, Singapore Fireworks Celebrations, as well as served as a spectator stand for the inaugural Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix. The world’s largest floating stadium played host to the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the inaugural 2010 Summer Youth Olympics.

Later visit one of the most beautiful masterpieces, Singapore’s new icon, a 101-hectare horticultural attraction, certainly seems to be the nation’s most beautiful with more than 250 thousand rare plants in huge domed conservatories.

Enjoy an amazing view of the Marina Bay financial district skyline.

Bay South―the largest waterfront garden―is where you’ll find the impressive Supertrees. These 16-story-tall vertical gardens collect rainwater, generate solar power, and act as venting ducts for the park’s conservatories.

At Bay East – there’re pretty pavilions, lush lawns, tropical palm trees, and natural blossoms. For a reprieve from the tropical heat (and a taste of the Mediterranean climate), head to the cooled conservatory complex, which won the World Building of the Year at the World Architecture Festival 2012. There, you can study plant species from around the world such as baobabs and date palms.

Also visit Singapore Clarke Quay, a historical riverside quay in Singapore. The newly redeveloped Clarke Quay social and tourist component of brand Singapore. Crucial to its success is the ingenious moderation of the micro-climate through the design of sophisticated shading and cooling systems which reduce the ambient temperature by 4 degrees Celsius while enhancing the riverfront and streets with tremendous visual interests. The project won in 2007 Cityscape Architectural Review Award (Tourism, Travel & Transport – Built) and the Cityscape Asia Awards, Best Waterfront Development in 2008.

Fort Siloso has been converted into a military museum, displaying its history and guns. Other coastal guns from different parts of Singapore have been brought here for display. It is one of the key tourist attractions at Sentosa and a showcase of life in the Fort when the British still manned it. It had previously held the display of the British Surrender. Proceed for Combat Skirmish.

Combat Skirmish is an innovative, team-focused sport akin to playing a real-life combat simulation game (think along the lines of computer games like “Counter-Strike” or “Battlefield 1942”). You will be running around, dodging your opponents’ fire, and shooting them down, as well as achieving team objectives and missions.

Enjoy Skyline & Luge. Skyline Luge Sentosa is the first-ever Luge introduced in Southeast Asia, offering 2 unique types of experiences, the Luge and Skyride. Luge is a fun- filled gravity thrill ride that is safe for all ages.

With a unique braking and steering system, you can choose to take a leisurely cruise or race down the 688 meter Dragon trail or 628-meter Jungle trail – 1.4 kilometers of fun day and night.

Student Trips to Singapore

The tropical island of singapore lies both geographically and economically at the heart of southeast asia. it’s powerhouse economy, rich history, diverse culture and world-renowned levels of safety, make it a very appealing destination for our student trips to singapore. it’s a part of the world the learning adventure team is very experienced in, as all of our operational managers have lived and worked in singapore and are now passionate in delivering educational experiences here..

An educational program in Singapore provides a rich array of learning opportunities for a variety of subjects. Tech students can gain first hand insights into tomorrow’s technology on a visit to Fusion Park, science students can get creative as they do their own experiments at Enterprise Innovation Labs and all of our trips take time in between the experiential learning opportunities to have fun and explore the cultural side of Singapore during our city tours.

If you’re a teacher or a school trip organizer considering Singapore as the destination for your next international program, then why not consider adding the following activities to your itinerary:

Become an engineer for the day at an Enterprise Innovation Lab:

For over 10 years, the Singaporean government has been partnering with global-multinationals to create a series of labs which are tasked with the mission of fostering innovation, providing resources for research and development and equipping the next generations of entrepreneurs, business leaders, designers and scientists with the skills they need to succeed.

During a trip with The Learning Adventure, we are able to include a visit to one of these innovation labs where students can tour the lab, have a hands-on experience using the lab equipment and facilities and have a question and answer sessions with a representative from the lab. Popular labs to visit are the ones run by the tech giant Pay Pal or the investment bank DBS. We wrap up all of experiential learning excursions with a brief reflection session, where students are encouraged to review, reflect and consider what they have just experienced.

Fusion World:

Given that few places are more of a cultural melting pot than Singapore, it could be argued that Singapore is its own ‘fusion island’, but when we refer to Fusion World we’re actually talking about a gallery designed to showcase the technology developed by Singapore’s Agency for Science Technology and Research.

Students move through a series of themed exhibitions which include a combination of upstream and downstream innovations, which aim to bridge the gap between futurist cutting edge technologies, and how these can be applied to solve the issues tomorrow’s world will face.

The guides, who are themselves virtual avatars, lead the way on this visit whilst providing fascinating learning insights on a range of tech topics ranging from robotics to nanotechnology.

Explore a Dynamic World City:

Our experienced team aims for all of our school trips in Singapore to be perfectly balance between meaningful educational experiences and fun cultural discoveries. Most of our Singapore trips therefore include time seeing the major city sites. A typical city tour includes a group photo at the iconic Merlion Statue , which has become a symbol of Singapore, a trip to the dizzying heights at the top of the space age Marina Bay Sands resort which dominates the Singapore skyline, a lunch of chicken rice at a ‘hawker center’ and an afternoon at Universal Studios on Sentosa Island. There is a lot to see and do in Singapore so it is up to each teacher or trip organiser to let us know how much or little sightseeing you would like included in your school’s learning program.

It has different experiences on offer, such as casual Fun Karting sessions and Grand Prix competitive group races that follow the F1 race format. For supervised frog 'catching' If you have a fear of frogs, maybe you’d wanna skip this one. Jurong Frog Farm is home to about 10,000 of the amphibians, the majority of which are American Bullfrogs. Staffers here are more than happy to show you around and tell you everything there is to know about frogs – entry to the farm is strictly by appointment from Tuesday to Friday, but it opens to walk-ins over the weekend and public holidays. And this might sound a little macabre, but you can even eat these croaking critters. The farm is known for a Chinese dessert called hashima, made from the dried fatty tissue found near the fallopian tubes of female frogs. Not for the faint-hearted, this one.

ArtScience Museum

ArtScience Museum

For an artsy-science outing  Shoehorning art and science into the same room and doing justice to both was always going to be a big risk but the concept has proven itself to work hosting everything from touring exhibitions like Disney: Magic of Animation to the permanent ones like Future World  where the kids  can let their imagination run wild . The showcase features interactive stations where balls change colour upon every touch and drawings come to life on the big screen.
