FULL TOUR of Stateroom Aboard the Disney Wish Cruise Ship
The newest addition to Disney Cruise Line , the Disney Wish , will set sail on its maiden voyage in just a few weeks — and today we have a preview of what passengers will be experiencing aboard the ship!
We’ve watched the christening ceremony and we’re now on board the ship — there’s one spot we are really excited to check out — the staterooms ! Find out what YOUR room could look like aboard the Disney Wish right here!
The Disney Wish is all about luxury, boasting a total of 1,254 staterooms , with several different kinds of room options to book. You could opt for one of the rooms with an ocean view or a verandah, a room with a connecting door so you can stay close to your family, or you could go for the ultimate penthouse — the Wish Tower Suite inspired by Moana .
Today we were able to check out the Category 4C Oceanview Deluxe Family Stateroom with Verandah , so come along with us to take a look!
Let’s walk down the hallway…
…and find our room!
The doors have the room numbers on these beautiful Cinderella-inspired plaques (room number blanked out).
So here’s what we see the minute we step inside. The room is mostly made up of muted colors with a blue carpet and blue loveseat.
To the left of the door is a huge closet with plenty of space for storing things.
Inside you’ll find hangers for your clothes.
Open up the doors and you’ll find the room safe and laundry bags.
Now let’s talk about this queen-sized bed …
…which has a reading lamp on both sides, along with a small table…
…and a drawer to store your stuff.
Yes, that is Frozen art above the bed. How beautiful!
The room has a curtain that can be pulled between the bed and the seating area in the room.
The seating area has a blue loveseat that also pulls out into a single-sized bed .
Above the loveseat is more Frozen artwork.
There’s a small table near the loveseat that can be used for your drinks or snacks.
Above the loveseat is a pulldown bed .
Above that bed is a pretty star-filled night sky with the Fairy Godmother. Get this — it lights up! Kids are going to love this (okay, adults will love it, too).
There’s another closet with even MORE storage beside the love seat.
But wait, because there’s even more storage space opposite the love seat — a dresser with a mirror is here with drawers and shelves. This is also where extra glasses have been placed.
The mirror is even lighted. The middle drawer has a blow dryer.
Having all this storage will come in so handy!
Don’t worry, there’s an ice bucket in the rooms, too.
Beside that cabinet is a door to an adjoining room, in case you need it.
There’s also some Olaf Art nearby!
Want to watch TV , which is opposite the bed?
Be sure to grab the remote !
At the farthest end of the room are the sliding doors that lead out onto the verandah. There’s a heavy curtain on top with a thin privacy curtain beneath.
Let’s open up those curtains and head out to take in the view!
The verandah has two chairs with a small table between them. There’s the ocean view!
Okay, let’s back up to the front of the room again — just to the right of where you enter the room is the bathroom .
The bath/shower and toilet are separate. There’s a tub and shower in one part of the bathroom.
Inside the shower, you’ll find H20+ shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
Beside the tub is a sink with a mirror, as well as towels, washcloths, and facial tissues.
Don’t forget the H20+ facial sea salt soap! (Okay, we can smell this photo… .)
Inside the smaller area of the bathroom is the toilet …
…and another mirror and sink.
Here’s a video room tour!

All our wishes came true when a new Disney cruise ship made its grand debut last summer. The Disney Wish joined the fleet in 2022 with a collection of innovative and exciting experiences for the whole family to enjoy. Here are some of the enchanted offerings you’ll find aboard the newest ship:
1. Welcome Aboard
As you board the Disney Wish, your party will be greeted by name, and a bronze-sculpted Cinderella will welcome you into the Grand Hall. The Disney Wish is the first ship in the fleet to have an atrium stage where princesses and princes alike will make special appearances throughout your sailing. If you visit the Grand Hall at either 10 p.m. or midnight, you will be delighted with a magical moment and a special kiss goodnight.
2. Signature Dining
Rotational dining ensures all guests can enjoy all three themed dining experiences while on board. Your party and service team will rotate to a different table service restaurant each night. As part of your rotational dining experience on the Disney Wish, you’ll be transported to the golden age of animation at 1923 , assemble for an action-packed Avengers mission at Worlds of Marvel , and enjoy a dining experience worth melting for at Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure .
3. Broadway-Style Entertainment
Spend your first night on board at a live performance of “ Disney Seas the Adventure ,” a heartwarming story featuring songs and characters from some of your favorite Disney films. If you love the classics, you won’t want to miss an evening of unbelievable sights and indescribable feelings at “ Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular .” After a long day in the sand, sit back and enjoy the hot crustacean band at a theatrical retelling of the animated film “ The Little Mermaid .”
4. Adult-Exclusives
The Disney Wish is home to a variety of luxurious experiences for adults to unwind and indulge in. The fan-favorite adults-only dining experience, Palo, has evolved to Palo Steakhouse , offering the carefully crafted Italian cuisine you know and love in addition to the world’s finest steaks. Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement is an elegant restaurant where adults can enjoy a gourmet menu of exceptional French-inspired fare. These two “Beauty and the Beast”-inspired restaurants are sure to satisfy your tastebuds. Don’t believe me? Ask the dishes! Check out the collection of bars and lounges on board for late-night drinks, dancing, and entertainment.
For an adults-only spa experience unlike any other, visit Senses Spa. The Rainforest on the Disney Wish is the first to encompass indoor and outdoor spaces where adults can relax and rejuvenate. The indoor space features heated loungers, an aromatherapy steam room, a dry sauna, and an all-new ice room. The first-of-its-kind outdoor area offers a private oasis complete with whirlpool spas and comfortable lounging areas.
5. Just for Kids
While adults take advantage of those exclusive experiences, the rest of your crew can enjoy age-appropriate, supervised fun at the Kids Clubs. The Oceaneer Club is home to interactive themed experiences, like Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, where aspiring Imagineers can get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to bring Disney magic to life. They’ll even have a chance to participate in hands-on experiments and design their very own attraction! The young Avengers onboard can put their skills to the test and suit up for a virtual battle at Marvel Super Hero Academy.
6. Poolside Fun
Whether you’re looking to go for a swim or just get your feet wet, the Disney Wish has got you covered! The entire family can make a splash in the reimagined pool deck area, featuring six pools of various depths and sizes. If you’re a thrill-seeker, check out the AquaMouse , the first-ever attraction at sea. This exciting new water coaster with animated scenes and special effects will take you on a journey above the upper decks.

PHOTOS: Disney Wish Stateroom Tour
Here’s detailed look a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah (category 4C) located on Deck 6, midship, on the Disney Wish. This room, 6090, has Cinderella themeing in the artwork. The same category room on other decks may have art themed to a different Disney film.
This stateroom category includes a split bathroom, with the toilet and a sink in one room and the shower and another sink in a second room. This configuration allows two guests to get ready simultaneously. The rectangular shower/tub has a glass door that swings either inward or outward. If you’re using the tub to bathe a child, then the outward door position will give you more room and better access to the child.
The shower stall has multi-use bottles of H2O brand shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The shower head can be removed from the wall and the height of the head can be adjusted. There is retractable clothesline that can be extended as a place to dry swimsuits or other damp items.
Towels are adorned with the Disney Cruise Line logo. Each stateroom comes with one dark-colored washcloth to be used for makeup removal. Each room is also equipped with a small sharps container. There is a full body mirror on the shower room door and illumination around the above-sink mirrors in both compartments.
The toilet compartment has a nightlight feature that provides minimal illumination.
There are trash receptacles in both bathrooms. Both compartment have small shelves on the wall and space under the sink to hold toiletries, plus hooks to hold towels or robes.
Primary Bed Area
The primary bed area includes a queen-sized bed. The linens are by Frette; these have a Mickey Mouse pattern woven into the fabric. The mattress is made by Biscayne Bedding International – a 13″ Cayman pillow top model – 65″ x 77″.
There are two lamps on both sides of the bed – one ambient light and one smaller reading light that can be rotated and directed to a specific spot. There are also small nightstands with drawers on both sides of the bed as well as standard U.S. plug, USB, and USB-C outlets.
The TV is mounted at the base of the primary bed. The TV is immobile, it does not pivot to other positions.
The area under the bed is open and available for luggage storage. There is approximately 14″ of clearance from the floor to the bottom of the bed.
Lounge and Secondary Bed Area
The exterior half of the room functions as the lounge and secondary bed area. This room sleeps four guests, two on the main queen-sized bed. The couch folds out into a twin-sized bed. There is an additional twin-sized bed, with a weight limit of 265 pounds, that pops down from the ceiling over the couch/bed. When the ceiling bed is available, you’ll have access to a light and a USB cord outlet. There is artwork above the ceiling bed.
There is a small table next to the couch (which has approximately 74″ of seating space). The desk area has one drawer containing a refrigerator compartment. A small drawer holds a hair dryer and a protective mat for heated hair tools. The long narrow drawer under the mirror holds an emergency information card, two breakfast room service menus , and a pen.
There is shelving and outlets on one side of the vanity mirror. The telephone is wall-mounted in the shelving on the other side of the vanity mirror. A small trash can is inset into the shelving under the phone.
There are four glasses and small tray on the desk area. You can ask your stateroom host or room service if you want ice.
In addition to the couch, there is an upholstered chair with a matching ottoman, as well as a backless stool that functions as seating for the desk.
A full-length mirror is opposite the lounge chair.
There is a privacy curtain that can be extended to separate the room’s two sleeping areas.
The closet has three compartments, two hanging areas and one shelving area. Lights come on inside the closet when the doors are opened.
The hanging areas come with sturdy wooden hangers, some with clips for holding pants or skirts. If you need more, ask your stateroom attendant.
There are two adult-sized robes in the closet. These are for use during your stay. You can buy robes in the ship’s merchandise shops.
The shelves house your stateroom’s personal floatation devices (life jackets). One of the first things you should do after you enter your room is count the devices and make sure that there are enough of the appropriate sizes for your party. You should inform your stateroom host immediately if the life jackets are not as needed.
The shelving area includes a safe large enough to hold two standard laptops as well as documents such as passports and currency.
The closet shelves also contain a cloth laundry bag and an order form if you want to send out clothes for laundry, dry cleaning, or pressing . You will be assessed a fee if you take the bag home accidentally.
The ladder for the top bunk is stored in the closet when it is not in use.
This room has a standard verandah, with two chairs and small table. The verandah is accessed via a sliding glass door.
As a child safety measure, opening the door is a multi-step process involving a lock that is above adult shoulder height. Once the the door is unlocked, the handle must be twisted into an inverted position and then the door can be slid open.
This room is on one of the straight portions of the ship; the view is very slightly obscured by nearby rooms on the curved (or “bump out”) portions of the ship.

Tour of Disney Wish Stateroom #7072 (Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah)
Hi everyone!
We were invited to a media preview of the Disney Wish, which is the fifth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. The Inaugural sailing is July 14th, 2022! There are 1254 staterooms on the Disney Wish, and we were in Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah #7072. Here is a look at the stateroom in photos and our video tour!
The hallway carpet featured “Frozen” and “Cinderella” patterns in the form of snowflakes and pumpkins.
Cinderella’s carriage is on the light fixtures overhead in the hallway.
This stateroom sign features Cinderella’s carriage.
The sign on the door features stars.
An envelope held our Key to the World cards and we were assigned Assembly Station J. Our muster was done on our own.
Here is our video, followed by more photos!
The stateroom is approximately 284 square feet, which is about 40 square feet more than the regular Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah.
This is the first time I have had the larger stateroom, it felt very spacious.
The bed runner says “Wish”.
Here is a look at the pattern in the sheet.
The lamp features at least one hidden Mickey.
The artwork behind the bed features Olaf and Sven. The room is “Frozen” themed as far as the artwork.
To the right, there is a great location for working, along with some shelf space, small drawers and the beverage cooler.
We were given an Inaugural Disney Wish bag, which was able to sit in the space. There were four glasses.
This looked like a drawer but pulled out as a beverage cooler. The bottle inside is a half Champagne bottle.
Artwork of Olaf is on the wall.
Looking back, there is a pull-out couch to the right.
Over the couch is artwork of Elsa and Anna.
There are some shelves and a pull-down bed.
The television is on the wall.
Bathrobes were in the closet along with some hangers.
There is a safe in the closet as well.
Most staterooms have a split bathroom, which is a terrific feature that the Disney Cruise Line is known for. This bathroom has a bathtub/shower and there are H20 products to use. There is also a sink.
H20 products to use are the H20+ Sea Marine shampoo, conditioner, and Sea Salt body wash.
In the bathroom, there is also H20+ body lotion.
A design with the Disney Cruise Line logo was on a bathroom door.
The other bathroom has the toilet. The split bathroom is very convenient for couples and families needing to get ready.
Towels include the Disney Cruise Line logo.
There is a curtain divider if needing privacy.
And I love to spend a lot of time on the balcony – we didn’t have much time for it during this trip, but I look forward to it when we return on our own next month.
There is nothing like watching a beautiful sunset from a stateroom verandah. I have sailed 7 or 8 times with Disney Cruise Line since 1998 and have always had a verandah.
At night, towel animals with chocolate met us when we returned.
With just two of us in the room, the Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah was definitely a luxury in terms of the extra room. I look forward to seeing how the stateroom we usually stay in (the Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah) compares when sailed in so close together.
Disney invited us to sail on the Disney Wish for the media preview, all views are ours.

Disney Wish Stateroom 7689 Tour – Category 11B Standard Inside Stateroom
During the Maiden Voyage aboard the Disney Wish, I stayed in stateroom 7689 , a Category 11B Standard Inside Stateroom. In general, the inside stateroom category offered on the Disney Wish is about 169 square feet featuring a queen bed, single convertible sofa and upper-berth pull-down bed if sleeping 4 which this room does.
Stateroom 7689 is located all the way aft on deck 7 and while it is centered, the doorway is technically located on the starboard side.
Unlike the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, the Disney Wish’s inside staterooms do not feature magical portholes, instead the Disney Wish staterooms have fairytale murals, which vary by deck and location, above the headboard.
The upper berth was not needed during the cruise, but I can say that above the bunk bed there is a celestial scene featuring original artwork and an enchanting message from the Fairy Godmother.
The stateroom offers plenty of storage space – just like the staterooms across the fleet, the queen size bed is elevated creating additional storage space to store suitcases for the duration of the sailing after unpacking.
Pro tip, normally move the life jackets from the closet and place those under the foot of the bed to free up additional storage space in the closet. If you do, relocate your life preservers, make sure they are easily assessable in the unlikely event you need them, also make sure to put them back in the closet on the final night after you pack up.
There are USB and USB-C port near the desk and both sides of the bed. Well, only one side of the bed had USB-C. I found the outlets to charge just fine and eliminate the need for multiple USB chargers. I must say, it is nice to have working USB outlets to charge devices around the room and even the ship in general, and will become even more beneficial in the future.
The 43″ flat-screen TV was in an awkward location and since it is fixed to the wall there was not really a great place to watch TV.
I felt the placement of the TV in the verandah stateroom which I will review soon was also not in an ideal spot. The lack of a pivot arm has the potential to cause issues for families who may enjoy the amenity while in the room. It was almost like, they were not planning to have TVs in the staterooms then at the last minute decided to mount a tv wherever there is an open wall with a directive to make it inconvenient so guests will opt to leave the room and go elsewhere to watch sports or something where we can sell them something.
Another interesting feature of the stateroom onboard the Disney Wish is the mini-drawer refrigerator. It is a pull out drawer, not the typical “cooling box” reminiscent of a mini-fridge found on the other ships. This design makes it difficult to store larger bottles unless you remove the plastic dividers.
The hair dryer in the stateroom was a Bentley Europe Levante hair dryer .
One of the areas with the best improvements was the bathrooms. The shower is a glass door instead of a shower curtain, and hands down the best thing about the Disney Wish staterooms is the nightlight which was added to the bathrooms!
There is a stateroom host utility closet adjacent to the stateroom door – I am not sure if this was just a convenient spot for nearby guests, or the current staging area to keep the hallways clear, but room service trays began to pile up outside my door. I love chicken wings, but chicken wing scraps can become aromatic and can fill a room with a borderline unpleasant odor.
I hope you enjoy the following video tour of stateroom 7689 aboard the Disney Wish.
Overall, the stateroom is one I’d book again, but keep in mind, I’ve never had a problem with an inside stateroom. I liked the location and most importantly, it was quiet. The location of the TV was a bit of an annoyance, but I really didn’t turn it on all that much other than to view the bridge report channel and see the current bridge view so ultimately, it was a non-issue for me. If you tend to spend most of your time outside of your stateroom, an inside stateroom is worth considering if you are just using it to sleep and get ready for the next activity out and about the ship or port of call.
Have you stayed in this type of room, what did you think about it? Do you have a stateroom review to share? You can submit your own stateroom review. Start by searching for your stateroom on this page , then look for the link titled Submit your own stateroom review .

12 Replies to “Disney Wish Stateroom 7689 Tour – Category 11B Standard Inside Stateroom”
Not a fan of inside staterooms, need to see daylight when I wake up
Dumb place for the TV. Going on Wish end of month. I’m sure without drawers on side of the desk, the storage will be minimal .
When I saw the pictures last year of the model stateroom, I called DCL and asked them if the placement of the TV was the idea of someone who did not travel with children. It would be difficult enough for an adult to watch it without getting a stiff neck; but what about all the times when the little ones are kept busy watching it while their parents are getting ready for dinner, etc. Then there are the times when the young ones are just chilling and watching their favorite Disney cartoons/movies are such a bonus. Our family was sad to see the Dream leave Port Canaveral, but even sadder to see w the Wish that replaced it. Definitely not what we wished for.
I had a balcony room and the TV placement was definitely an issue. I dont get it. You have a sofa to sit and relax on but have to sit on the bed to watch TV. Also be careful of the only drawer in the room as it is above the refrigerator and gets very warm. Dont put anything in it that cant get hot.
Unfortunately I have only heard bad reviews too. Waiting for my turn and hopefully will be good.
This is the room we reserved for Jan. Is it noise since all hallway around it?
The room was quiet.
Just got off Wish stateroom 7690. Thanks for the tip about moving the life jackets under the bed. Area is very quiet at the end of the ship. There were a lot of leftover room service and other plates up and down the corridor. I don’t think it is the stateroom host’s job to pick them up, but it is nasty to look at all the remains. TV was not a big deal for us. It is very viewable from the couch. Night light in the bathroom is a huge plus as is the mirror light. The Wish is a gorgeous ship, tech is a lightyear above the other DCL ships, but it is different in design and layout from the others. We heard about a third of the crew is brand new to cruising and I think the processes and procedures are still being worked out. Don’t miss Bayou Lounge and the Hyperspace Lounge. Use the app to make a reservation for it. MDR food across the board is very good to excellent. Net overall I would sail on the Wish again.
So it’s true- no split baths in standard inside staterooms?
None of the DCL ships include split baths in standard inside cabins. They are only in the larger / deluxe insides and higher categories.
Do the hair dyers have diffuser attachments. I know on other Disney ships they have them, but I do not see it pictured so fear I will have to bring a clunky universal one.
Do the hair dryers include a diffuser attachment? I have used one on other Disney ships, but don’t see it in your picture and fear I will have to pack a clunky universal one.

Floor to ceiling windows!
To the left of the living room is a small bar area with a bar and two stools .
And to the right of the living area is a dining table with six chairs . At this point, you might be starting to notice a decor theme. Not only are touches of Moana present throughout the stateroom, the marble detailing you can see throughout these photos is very present , as well.
Dining table
Behind the bar, is a small library with two chairs…
…some shelves…
…and even a painting featuring Moana herself.
Moana painting
This library can function as an additional bedroom with a queen size bed. In total, this suite will sleep 8 guests . Now it’s time for us to head up this marvelous spiral staircase to take a look at the bedrooms.
Spiral staircase
On the upper level of the suite are the two main bedrooms. Let’s take a look at the first one.
First bedroom
This first bedroom has a king-sized bed, large windows, and a unique chandelier . There is also a small table in the room you can use to get ready. It also has a television concealed at the foot of the bed. It has a huge walk-in closet , too. In this closet, you’ll find some hangers, a safe, and life jackets.
Walk-in closet
The real star of the show, however, is the gorgeous bathroom.
Take a look a this bathroom!
We told you the marble detailing would be prominent throughout the suite! This bathroom is right off the bedroom and has both a shower and a tub , and two sinks ! The toilet is closed off from the rest of the bathroom for privacy.
You won’t need to fight over the sink in this bathroom!
The bathrooms also come stocked with toiletries , including soap and moisturizer.
There is another bedroom upstairs that is similar to the first one. It also has a king-sized bed and a vanity table you can use to get ready in the mornings.
Second bedroom
This room comes with a walk-in closet as well, which is also equipped with a safe and hangers.
Another walk-in closet!
And similarly to the first bedroom, this room as a bathroom connected to it, too.
The bathroom also features double sinks, a shower, and a bathtub , but it isn’t as big as the bathroom in the first bedroom. As we saw in the first bedroom’s bathroom, the toilet is closed off from the rest of the bathroom with its own door.
Tower suite bathroom
Back down on the lower level, you’ll find a bedroom for kids (or adults who wanna sleep on bunk beds!). This room has two bunk beds, and its own bathroom, as well.
Two bunk beds!
Since these are bunk beds, they are small and narrow, but would fit a child easily.
One of the most interesting things about this room is the ceiling! The ceiling has lights in it made to look like constellations . If you look closely, you might be able to spot Maui’s hook!
Can you see Maui’s hook?
This bedroom also has a bathroom attached to it.
Kids bathroom
It’s smaller compared to the bathrooms upstairs with only one vanity and no bathtub. The toilet is also not sectioned off into its own area in this bathroom.
There’s no bathtub in this bathroom
The bedroom contains a lot more of the subtle nods to Moana with a vanity area with decorations inspired by the movie.
More subtle nods to ‘Moana’
This room also has a television.
There are 4.5 bathrooms in this suite — one for each bedroom and a guest bathroom at the entrance as well. With a stateroom this size, there’s lots of room for small Disney touches. Take for example this statue of Maui in the living room!
Maui Statue
There’s also this interesting art piece located right in the entranceway of the suite. It looks a lot like the Heart of Te Fiti.
More ‘Moana’ touches
Guests staying in this 1,996 square foot space can expect the royal treatment — including a personal concierge team, daily treats, a private elevator, lush bed linens and robes, and black-out curtains for those huge windows in case you need a little extra sleep! Pricing is not listed online, so you will need to call to get more information on pricing details for this suite.

The ultimate Disney cruise packing list
A Disney cruise is all but guaranteed to be an amazing, relaxing and downright fun vacation, but knowing what to pack for a vacation on Disney Cruise Line can be a little overwhelming, especially if this is your first cruise.
With seven Disney cruises under my family's sea legs to destinations ranging from the sunny Bahamas to chilly Alaska and an upcoming one in Europe, I now consider myself a Disney cruise packing expert. Here is a tried-and-true Disney cruise packing list to take you from the beach to glaciers and back again.

Passports, birth certificates and important documents
Do you need to pack a passport for a disney cruise.
It's always a good idea to have a passport when you cruise , even if it isn't required. You never know when there will be an unexpected situation or emergency that causes you to debark your ship early and fly home from a foreign country.
But it's not always feasible for everyone in your travel party to have a passport, so the good news is there are many Disney cruises that do not require you to pack a passport.
For example, round-trip sailings from Port Canaveral, Florida; Miami; Fort Lauderdale; Galveston, Texas; San Diego; San Juan, Puerto Rico; New Orleans; and New York require only an original state-issued birth certificate and government-issued photo ID. Kids 15 and under do not need a government-issued ID.
However, if you are sailing from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Alaska, you will need a passport if you are 16 or older. Those under 16 can do that sailing with a state-issued birth certificate, which works for land and sea crossings, but everyone who arrives in Canada by air from the U.S. would need a passport.
Pro tip : Don't put passports in your checked bags! You must show them in the cruise terminal when you check in for your sailing, so put them in your embarkation day backpack.
Other required documents
Be sure to pack any other documents you might need to show your identity, citizenship and ability to cruise:
- Non-expired government-issued ID
- A letter of permission to travel without the other custodial parent if sailing solo with your kids internationally (or if you're sailing with your grandkids or another child without their parents)
- Your Disney Cruise Port Arrival Form with QR code (have this handy when you board)
- A letter from your doctor if you're pregnant that says you're not further along than 23 weeks and you're safe to travel
Pack your luggage tags when you travel to the port, and attach them to the luggage that the crew will deliver to your cabin.

Don't stress too much about what you're going to wear on a Disney cruise. In most areas of the ship, casual, comfortable clothes are always appropriate.
How long your cruise is, where it is going and what you are doing will dictate what you need to pack per person. Here are some suggestions on wardrobe items to pack for your Disney cruise.
- One casual outfit per day
- One to two pairs of sleepwear
- One to two swimsuits — two if heading to a warm destination and you plan to swim frequently
- Rash guards or other ultraviolet protectant swim shirts if you want to spend the day outside in the sun
- Swimsuit cover-up
- One zip-up hoodie or sweater for the movies and evening shows if you get cold
- Workout gear, if desired, for the gym, onboard walking/running track or Castaway Cay 5K
- Shoes: one pair of sneakers, one pair of sandals, one pair of water shoes (most important on Disney Wish, which has a hot deck) and one nicer pair of shoes for evenings (optional)
- Nicer outfits if you want to dress up at night or are dining in an adults-only restaurant with a fancier dress code, such as Palo , Remy or Enchante
- Mickey ears (optional but fun)
- Excursion-specific gear: appropriate clothes for port activities, which may mean an extra casual outfit for that day if you expect to get hot or sweaty, or an umbrella or rain gear if your tour will operate rain or shine; note that some excursion locations, especially to places like the Vatican in Europe, may require shoulders and legs down to the knees to be covered
- Lanyard to hold your Key to the World card if you're a first-time cruiser who won't receive one for free on board; you can also purchase a MagicBand+ to use to open your stateroom door, pay for purchased items, etc.
If sailing to Alaska :
- Rain jacket
- Warmer outer layers, such as a vest or long sleeve shirt
- Warm gloves and a hat
- Hiking boots, if necessary
Related: 10 things to know about sailing on a Disney Alaska cruise
If on a seven-day or longer sailing :
- Dressy attire for the optional "formal night" that takes place once every seven-night or longer cruise
- Travel-size laundry detergent or a travel-friendly laundry sheet if you want to use the washing machines and dryers on the ships (available for a small fee using your Key to the World Card, or you can buy detergent on the ship)

Themed outfits
Your Disney Cruise will likely have a themed night, though the theme will depend on where you're sailing.
Mexico and Caribbean cruises most reliably have pirate night, which is the most common theme on a Disney sailing. However, Alaska sailings often have a "Frozen"-themed evening instead. Many cruisers dress up for these events.
Pirate night
Most Disney Cruises have a pirate-themed evening where everyone, even the characters, dresses up in pirate attire. The crew may lay out pirate bandanas in your stateroom for you to wear, but you should bring your own pirate gear from home. It's a bunch of fun to lean into the theme — and it's much cheaper to bring outfits or accessories from home than buy on board.
'Frozen' night
If you're sailing to Alaska, you'll get a "Frozen"-themed night instead. This sometimes happens on the northern European sailings, too. For these nights, pack your Elsa dress, Nordic-looking sweater or Sven the reindeer outfit and join in the fun.
Princess dresses and other costumes
It's always a good time to look your princess best on a Disney cruise. You can buy princess dresses for your kids at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, but you'll save some cash by bringing one from home.
The BBB package that includes the dress, backpack and makeup costs about $200. If you bring your own dress, the hair-and-makeup-only package comes with a T-shirt and costs half that amount. I'm partial to the non-itchy dresses from Little Dress Up Shop if you want something washable and wearable.
Either way, when you're in that magical age range, there's nothing like meeting your favorite princess while dressed in your own royal ballgown.
If you're sailing on one of Disney's Marvel, Pixar or other themed cruises, you might want to pack costumes or outfits to represent your favorite superheroes or movie characters. Halloween costumes are a must on Halloween on the High Seas cruises, and holiday apparel (including matching pajamas for the entire family) won't go amiss on Very Merrytime cruises around the holidays.

Lanyards — if it's your first Disney cruise
While the ships are working on transitioning to a DisneyBand+ system , most still give passengers a keycard to use as a room key and onboard charge card. Though it isn't the most stylish look, wearing your keycard around your neck via a lanyard is a functional solution to keep your card handy (and your kids from losing theirs), so pack a lanyard to hold your keycard if it's your first Disney cruise.
If you are a returning cruiser with Silver, Gold, Platinum or Pearl status in the Disney Castaway Club program , a free lanyard should await you in your cabin. It will be themed to your level in the Castaway program.
Otherwise, you can purchase a new Disney Cruise Line-themed MagicBand+ online from your DCL account beginning 45 days before your cruise — or you can bring one that worked for you in the Disney parks and use that instead.
Refillable water bottle and coffee mug
Regular self-pour coffee and soda are free on a Disney Cruise — but only up on the pool deck and in the buffet area. Unless you like going up and down the stairs frequently to grab the small paper cups, pack a coffee mug with a lid or other container to hold the coffee or soda you want.
Refillable water bottle stations are available around the ship, so pack a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated for free.
You'll need to pay extra for soda in cans and plastic water bottles (unless you stay in a concierge-level cabin and get them for free from the concierge fridge). So, you'll save money if you bring your own containers and refill from the dispensers.

Portable charger
You're going to be using your phone a ton on your Disney cruise, whether to find activities, message your sailing party in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app or take lots of pictures. Batteries can drain quickly, especially on port days.
Pack a portable charger or power bank so you don't run out of battery juice while you're on the go.
Magnetic hooks
Cruise cabins are small. If you are traveling with a family, every nook and cranny can fill up quickly. Take advantage of the ship's metal frame by packing magnetic hooks that you can attach to your cabin's walls and doors. They create the perfect spots to hang your keycards, hats, light jackets, bags and/or swimsuits.
Amazon sells affordable magnetic hooks .
For your port excursion days, long afternoons on the pool deck and embarkation and debarkation days, you'll want a good backpack or large crossbody bag to keep the things you need handy.
Related: 5 best backpacks for every travel style
What to pack in your embarkation day backpack
You will most likely hand your larger suitcases to the porters at the pier when you first arrive at the ship, and those bags won't arrive in your cabin until midafternoon. Therefore, you'll want to pack anything you need to check in for your cruise or your first afternoon on board in the backpack you keep with you.
Some of those items include:
- Passports, IDs and boarding documents
- Money and credit cards
- Any necessary medication
- Electronics and external charger/battery pack
- Swimsuit, sunscreen, flip-flops and sun hat
Related: Items you should always pack in your cruise carry-on bag
Pro tip : One of the best times to swim without crowds or use the waterslides without waiting is shortly after boarding. Don't be shy about popping into that swimsuit in a restroom (or wearing it under the clothes you board in) and taking a ride on the slide before half the ship has had time to embark. If you are one of the first to board, the pool deck attractions may not be open yet, but they usually are by around noon or 1 p.m.
Door decorations
If you walk the halls of a Disney cruise ship, you'll see decorations on many doors. Usually, these decorations consist of magnets, some personalized to the guests in the cabin or the cruise itself.
It's not only fun to have a decorated door, but it can also help your kids (and you!) easily spot your door while you're still getting used to the ship.
You can buy personalized items on Etsy or even find Disney cruise accessories on Amazon . Just order with enough buffer to allow time for personalization. And don't put anything you can't afford to lose on your door as sometimes things do walk away — which is another reason why personalized items are better than generic ones.
Fish extenders and other Disney accessories
Ignore this part if this is your first Disney cruise or you're already overwhelmed with the packing and planning. We've sailed seven times with Disney and only done this once.
But if you want to go all-in on the Disney Cruise Line experience, you can join an informal group on Facebook whose participants exchange gifts throughout the cruise. Just search for your ship name and sailing date on Facebook to find your informal sailing group. It likely has a few hundred people in it.
To join the fun, you must pack a "fish extender," aka a pouch you hang from the fish-shaped mail holder above your cabin door. With enough advance time, you can order a personalized fish extender on Etsy ; otherwise, get a basic one on Amazon .
Even if you don't join a formal gift exchange group, you might want to hang up a fish extender anyway. Sometimes, other cruisers will surprise cabins with small gifts like stickers and candies. Or, you can delight your own kids with unexpected gifts you place into the pouches yourself.
If all of that sounds like too much but you'd like to exchange a bit of Disney magic, some cruisers put up pin trading boards on their cabin doors. You can pick up pins on ShopDisney or Amazon before your sailing and then make pin trades as you walk the halls.
Food and drinks
Byo wine or beer.
If you are 21 or older, you can bring up to two bottles of unopened wine or Champagne (no larger than 750 milliliters) or six cans of beer (no larger than 12 ounces each) at the beginning of the sailing and at each port of call. The catch is you must carry these on board yourself and cannot put them into your checked bags.
Nonalcoholic beverages
If you want to stock your room's minifridge with Gatorade, bottles of water or cans of soda, you can bring those on board, too. They must be unopened, and, as with the wine, you have to carry them on yourself. The only real restriction is your ability to carry the drinks.
You can also bring nonperishable snack foods in original factory-sealed packaging if you want specific snack items on hand. If you have a baby who needs special foods or formula, bring that along, too. If you don't want to lug a bunch of jars, you can request fresh, pureed vegetables in the main dining rooms and via room service.

Cash and cards
You'll likely want some cash on hand for tips for excursion tour guides, your room host, the crew delivering room service and baggage handlers at the pier. While dollars are generally welcome as tips in ports such as Nassau, Bahamas, and Mexico, you'll want local currency for tips and purchases in places like Europe.
Credit cards
In most cases, the purchases you make on the ship will be charged to the credit card you have on file. Maximize your spending by bringing one of the best credit cards for cruises , such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve® , which will award 3 points per dollar spent on travel charges. For onshore purchases in the ports, you'll want to pack a credit card that charges no foreign transaction fees .
The Disney® Visa® Card is another popular credit card to consider if you are sailing with Disney Cruise Line.
Related: Are the Disney Visa credit cards worth it?
Disney gift cards
If you want to pay for some — or all — of your onboard purchases, tips added to your account and so on with discounted Disney gift cards, be sure to pack those along for your trip. You can apply those to your account at the guest services desk.
Bottom line
It's hard to resist the urge to overpack , but only a few must-pack items are essential for a Disney cruise — or any other cruise, for that matter.
Pack comfortable clothes and shoes, something to swim in, anything specific you might need for your port adventures and necessary identification and funds — the rest is just gravy. You can always wash clothes on board or visit a shop on board or in port for common forgotten essentials.
But, if you want to be as prepared as possible, this Disney cruise packing list should set you up for a magical cruise.
