Exciting Repositioning Cruises

Cross an ocean from one continent to another on one of our exciting repositioning cruises. You’ll have time to enjoy spectacular ports of call at either end of your voyage, with blissfully relaxing days in between to commune with the ocean and enjoy the many activities on board. Top up your tan by the sparkling pool, or unwind in the beautiful spa. Try all the different restaurants and bars on board, and spend your evenings enjoying the glittering entertainment.

Celebrity offers a world of choice. You could sail from Europe to sunny Florida. Or soak up the warmth of the tropics on a voyage between the Hawaiian islands and dynamic Sydney, Australia, stopping off to explore the dreamy islands of French Polynesia. Whichever repositioning cruise you choose, you’ll arrive renewed and refreshed.

Browse Repositioning Cruise Itineraries

Itineraries, view all repositioning cruises, explore two continents on an unforgettable repositioning cruise.

Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime journey across the Atlantic or the Pacific Ocean aboard one of our spectacular repositioning cruises. Sail from one continent to another on an award-winning ship and experience unrivaled cuisine, service, and entertainment as you leave one culture behind and prepare to embrace the next.

Repositioning cruises take place as a ship moves with the changing seasons from one sailing area, such as Europe, to a different location, for example, Florida.

Fall repositioning cruises leave Europe for the tropics. You might sail from Barcelona around the coasts of Spain and Portugal with visits to Valencia, Cadiz, and Lisbon before crossing the Atlantic to Tampa, Florida. Or choose an itinerary that breaks the crossing in Ponta Delgada, in the mid-Atlantic Azores, and atmospheric Bermuda. You could sail from Rome to Fort Lauderdale, or Southampton, England to Port Canaveral.

In spring, cruises depart ports in Florida, including Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, and Port Canaveral, bound for Europe. Pick a voyage that stops at Cartagena, Spain, and the island of Mallorca. Or choose an itinerary that visits Gibraltar, Cartagena, and La Spezia, close to Florence and Pisa.

There’s also the option of a fall voyage from Lisbon to South America, stopping at Tenerife in the Canary Islands and then tracing the coastlines of Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina en route to Buenos Aires.

Or why not cross the Pacific Ocean? You could board one of our repositioning cruises between Hawaii and Australia, which operate in October and April. Depart from either Honolulu or Sydney and visit lush islands in the South Pacific, including New Zealand’s idyllic Bay of Islands, dreamy destinations in French Polynesia like Moorea and Tahiti, and the islands of Hawaii.

On all of our repositioning cruises, you’ll have access to unlimited entertainment and an impressive choice of dining venues. Spend days at sea lounging by the outdoor pool or relaxing at the indoor solarium. Head to the Fitness Center for a class, and then indulge in a treatment at the spa. Dance under the stars at one of our rooftop lounges, or on Edge-Series ships, gaze at the vastness of the ocean from the Magic Carpet.

The 5 best nyc dinner cruises for food & views.

These dinner cruises provide some of the best views of Manhattan.

The Best NYC Dinner Cruises

Friends enjoying a La Barca Cantina dinner cruise.

When you're strolling the streets of Manhattan, it can be difficult to grasp the magnitude of the city, with its skyscrapers and densely packed landmarks. The solution? A boat ride. A breezy sail in New York Harbor can feature everything from an elegant dinner to a live jazz band to tacos and tequila. Read on to discover the top-rated New York City dinner cruise options as determined by travel expert opinion and recent reviews.

City Cruises New York Bateaux Premier Dinner Cruise

Price: From $144 Duration: 3 hours Standout perk: This all-glass boat delivers panoramic skyline views.

Climbing aboard the Bateaux feels like stepping into a greenhouse, with its glass-enclosed structure and water views in every direction. There are no bad seats on this boat, but as an upgrade you can reserve a window table for the best views of the Hudson River, the East River and the New York Harbor. This cruise is a match for anyone seeking elegance: The tables are covered in crisp white cloths, wine and cocktails are served in sparkling glasses, and a three-course a la carte dinner is served at a relaxed pace (no buffet here).

The Bateaux cruise is an experience to get dressed up for, where the dress code is semi-formal and dinner is accompanied by live music. The sunset can provide the perfect backdrop for pictures, and don't forget to snap a shot of the Statue of Liberty . Children younger than 6 are not permitted on this cruise, so expect a polished, for-adults atmosphere complete with creative cocktails and dancing under the stars. The Bateaux has rightfully earned a reputation for its fresh food; this three-course, plated menu includes several tempting a la carte options from a ravioli starter with crispy pancetta to osso bucco with cauliflower polenta.

City Cruises New York Signature Dinner Cruise

Price: From $109 Duration: 2.5 hours Standout perk: A live DJ gives this dinner cruise an extra dose of atmosphere.

Looking for a casual night of dining and dancing with the addition of a skyline backdrop? This dinner cruise offers just that. Set sail from Chelsea Piers in a climate-controlled boat along the Hudson and East rivers, admiring New York City landmarks like the Empire State Building . For dinner, indulge in a chef-prepared buffet with a wide range of options from Greek salad to oven-roasted salmon with miso to Caribbean jerk braised pork. If you're bringing a sweet tooth on board, be sure to check out the ample dessert station.

After snapping some pictures on the open-air deck, return to the cabin for cocktails from the cash bar, interactive games and upbeat music from the onboard DJ.

Those traveling with young kids will be pleased to know that infants younger than 3 cruise free – so feel free to bring your little ones along to enjoy the experience with you.

La Barca Cantina

La Barca Cantina dinner cruise with lights on boat at night.

Price: Varies Duration: 2 hours Standout perk: You'll find an extensive tequila and mezcal list on board to accompany the Mexican fare.

One criticism of New York dinner cruises is that they don't offer good value for money, but the "taco boat" challenges that critique with ceviche, tacos, churros, cocktails and skyline views for an affordable price. Climb aboard a yacht at Pier 81 to experience a youthful, modern interpretation of a dinner cruise – think: low lighting, couches for lounging and three bars, complete with Latin pop, salsa and dance music playing in the background. Raise a glass while the yacht sails south on the Hudson River to check out world-famous Manhattan skyline views.

La Barca Cantina also offers a bottomless brunch cruise with a DJ, as well as special events.

Classic Harbor Line NYC Evening Jazz Cruise

Live jazz trio performing for the Classic Harbor Line NYC Evening Jazz Cruise on the Manhattan II yacht in the summer.

Courtesy of Classic Harbor Line

Price: From $108 Duration: 1.5 hours Standout perk: A jazz trio typically featuring a sax, keyboard and drums plays live on board.

Listen to jazz standards aboard a 1920s-style yacht with this fun sightseeing cruise departing from Pier 62 in Chelsea Piers. Choose between kicking back in the climate-controlled cabin or on the open-air deck throughout this evening cruise, which includes views of Manhattan landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Live music is played outside on the deck or inside the salon, depending on the season (and the boat, Manhattan or Manhattan II).

While this cruise doesn't offer dinner, one complimentary alcoholic beverage is included, and a cash bar offers additional drinks and snacks. Listen to music by Duke Ellington, George Gershwin and more as you sail past the twinkling Manhattan skyline. Those traveling in a group should keep in mind: Tickets are slightly discounted for groups of 4 to 16.

Price: From $54 Duration: 2 hours Standout perk: This no-fuss, excellent-value cruise option has drinks and snacks available for purchase on board.

When you're craving panoramic views rather than a three-course meal, choose the Circle Line's Harbor Lights cruise departing from Pier 83. This sightseeing sailing delivers an up-close experience of the Manhattan skyline lights coming to life, while cruising past landmarks including the Brooklyn Bridge and the Chrysler Building . A live guide provides narration and historical context for what you're seeing. As the sun sets behind New Jersey, watch the glow of the sinking sun reflect in the windows of skyscrapers.

Food from the onboard cafe – like salads, sandwiches and snacks – as well as beer, wine and cocktails at the bar are available for purchase. This is an ideal situation for groups with varying levels of hunger and thirst. Sit alfresco in the breeze or indoors in the climate-controlled cabin – it's up to you.

Non-English-speaking guests can download the Circle Line app for narration available in several languages; just be sure to bring your own headset.

The 7 Best Cruises from Florida to Book Now

F lorida ports serve as the embarkation point for more cruises than anywhere else in the world. The best cruises from Florida-particularly out of Miami, Port Everglades (in Fort Lauderdale), and Port Canaveral (near Orlando)-make it easy to visit islands throughout the Caribbean as well as destinations further abroad.

In addition to serving as the launching point for numerous blissful sailings, Florida provides cruise passengers with the option of tacking on a few days at the beach or some time at the theme parks, making it an idyllic place to start or end your next cruise.

While the Caribbean is by far the most popular destination for cruises from Florida, sailings through the Panama Canal (typically in spring and fall) and longer winter sailings such as multimonth world cruises and itineraries to South America also embark from Florida ports. Some routes travel from Florida up the Eastern Seaboard to Canada and across the Atlantic as cruise ships reposition for the spring and summer to the Mediterranean.

Here are our picks for the best cruises from Florida.

1. Western Caribbean with Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Suggested itinerary: 10-day "Heavenly Sunsets" itinerary in February 2025, from $6,299 per person (fares include unlimited excursions and round-trip airfare)

On Regent Seven Seas Cruises' recently launched "world's most luxurious" ship, the 746-passenger Seven Seas Grandeur , passengers cruise in high style-and with such extravagant accoutrements as a 1,600-piece art collection-from Miami to Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, and the Cayman Islands. On the all-balcony, all-suite ship, check out the Picassos and the enameled, 18-karat white-gold Fabergé egg created especially for the ship (the only permanent Fabergé egg at sea)-that is, when you're not indulging in included fine dining and beverages at venues such as a steak house, a French restaurant, and an Asian-fusion outpost. The onboard Culinary Arts Kitchen provides hands-on classes from pro chefs. During a port visit in Port Royal, Jamaica, a Bob Marley Cultural Experience shore excursion visits the famed musician's former home and the museum's One Love Café (there's bound to be an uptick in interest fueled by a new movie about Bob Marley, One Love , that debuts this month).

2. Circumnavigate South America with Cunard

Suggested itinerary: 52-night "South America Discovery" cruise in January 2025, from $9,405 per person

Next January, Cunard Line's 2,061-passenger Queen Victoria will spend nearly two months circumnavigating South America round-trip from Fort Lauderdale, for a true "wow" factor cruise. The sailing will bring guests to Caribbean countries, including Turks and Caicos, Barbados, Aruba, and the Bahamas, in between visits to several ports in Brazil (with an overnight in Rio); Uruguay; Argentina (with an overnight in Buenos Aires); around Cape Horn, Chile (including views of the PIO X and Amalia glaciers); Peru (with an overnight in Callao near Lima); Ecuador; and through the Panama Canal. On board the ship, dress up for a glitzy gala complete with a live big band in the Queens Room ballroom, play darts in the Golden Lion Pub, and sip the cruise line's extensive cocktail selection at the Gin & Fizz bar in the dramatic multilevel Grand Lobby.

3. Immersive Caribbean cruise with Azamara

Suggested itinerary: 14-night "Eastern Caribbean Voyage" in November 2024, from $2,423 per person

Spend Thanksgiving on Azamara Cruises' more intimate 680-passenger Azamara Onward while visiting 10 Caribbean countries in two weeks. The comprehensive sweep through the islands embarks in Miami and sails to the Dominican Republic, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, and the British Virgin Islands (Virgin Gorda). That's a lot of countries to check off your lifetime list. The Azamara roster also has shorter and longer sailings. Embrace the ship's social, country club–like atmosphere, and indulge in treats such as a classic martini and filet mignon at the Prime C steak house. On shore, book excursions to slide and swim the 27 waterfalls of Damajagua while in Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, and see the creative side of St. Maarten on an island art tour. Complimentary AzAmazing Celebrations highlight local culture, such as a Bajan carnival event featuring a traditional drumming Tuk band on Barbados.

4. Eco-friendly Central America sailing with HX Expeditions

Suggested itinerary: 11-night "Tropical Waters and Remote Island Communities in the Caribbean" cruise in September 2024, from $3,909 per person

HX Expeditions (formerly Hurtigruten Expeditions) is sailing its 500-passenger Roald Amundsen from Miami to Colon, Panama, visiting remote island communities along the way. As you explore Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Colombia, and Panama, you'll spend time in UNESCO-protected nature areas such as the Belize Barrier Reef, Colombia's Seaflower Biosphere Reserve, where you may spot iguanas and electric blue lizards, and Panama's Coiba National Park, one of the most biodiverse places on the planet. There's also the opportunity to snorkel around Panama's Zapatilla Island, which was featured on the TV show Survivor . The ship features an infinity pool and further impresses by lowering its carbon footprint with hybrid-electric engines that allow it to run for several hours on batteries.

5. Family-friendly Mexican Caribbean cruise on ‘Disney Treasure'

Suggested itinerary: 7-night western Caribbean cruises , from $6,973 for an adult and two kids sharing a cabin

The big news out of Disney Cruise Line in 2024 is the December arrival of the 4,000-passenger Disney Treasure , the sixth ship in the fleet, which will be running on cleaner-burning liquified natural gas and cruising the Eastern and Western Caribbean. If you have youngsters who are fans of the Disney Pixar animated feature Coco , the sailing in the Western Caribbean is the way to go. From Port Canaveral, sail for seven nights to Mexico, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, and the cruise line's own Bahamas island CocoCay. The ship has a Coco -themed restaurant inspired by the movie and its characters. And the Coco theme continues on the Mexican island Cozumel, where a chocolate tasting and workshop is paired with hands-on learning about alebrije , fantastical folk-art sculptures and the inspiration for Dante, Miguel's spirit guide in the film. Adult-only areas of the ship include a Haunted Mansion–themed bar based on the Disney theme parks' attraction.

6. Choose-your-own Caribbean adventure with Explora Journeys

Suggested itinerary: 7-night A Journey from Miami to San Juan itinerary, from $4,050 per person; or 14 nights from $7,650 per person

The recently launched Switzerland-based luxury line Explora Journeys, with its resortlike ships Explora I and the upcoming Explora II each carrying about 740 passengers, cleverly does nonrepeating seven-night Caribbean itineraries, so depending on how much time you have, you can cruise for a week and fly home from the Caribbean or stay on board another week and return to Miami, without repeating ports of call. For example, sail from Miami to San Juan in Puerto Rico and visit Anguilla, Saint Martin (Marigot), Guadeloupe, and Dominica and fly home-or stay on for the next cruise and add St. Barth's, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, and the British Virgin Island (Virgin Gorda). The ships are posh playgrounds designed for couples and multigenerational families, with four pools (one for adults only), activities such as pickleball, 18 restaurants and lounges, and a cushy club for kids ages 6 to 17.

We recently reviewed what it's like sailing on the Explora I .

7. Eastern Seaboard and Canada with Viking

Suggested itinerary: 15-night "Canada & the Atlantic Coastline" itinerary in April 2024, from $11,295 per person

Viking sails from Fort Lauderdale to Toronto as its state-of-the-art, 378-passenger expedition ships, Viking Polaris in April 2024 and Viking Octantis in April 2025, reposition from Antarctica to the Great Lakes for the summer season. On this itinerary, you'll spend time in Charleston, New York, Quebec City, and Norfolk, Virginia, while visiting wild areas along the Canadian coastline. That might include kayaking or hiking Nova Scotia's Cape Breton Island, searching for seals and birdlife on uninhabited Brion Island, exploring the rugged beauty of Trois-Rivieres in Quebec, or sailing through the legendary lochs and canals of the St. Lawrence Seaway. The ships, with their sleek Scandinavian decor, are designed to combine traditional cruising and expedition adventures, with guests boarding Zodiac boats from an enclosed marina, called the Hangar. A pair of six-passenger submarines allow for underwater views.

Added bonus: You can spend some time exploring Florida destinations like Miami before or after your sailing.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO Alaska Cruises Insider

The sheer size of Alaska lends itself to a wide variety of terrain and travel experiences. This diversity means you need to be prepared for a lot of change while traveling.

The best time to travel to Alaska depends on your priorities. If you're interested in the Midnight Sun, the longest day of the year is June 21, when you can experience close to 20 or more hours of sunlight in some parts of the state. If you're more interested in the Alaska Northern Lights, the earlier sunset in later summer will allow more contrast and better views of this natural wonder.

No two days will be the same, and you'll need to pack your clothing to prepare for temperature changes throughout the day. Think layers: zip-up sweaters, boots, rain jackets.

Whether you're interested in hiking through a forest, trekking to glaciers or a shopping spree downtown, the towns along Alaska's inside passage provide a variety of adventurous activities. Russian ships, submarine pass coast of Florida. Why, and what is the US doing about it?

What are the russian vessels admiral gorshkov frigate, fleet oil tanker pashin, rescue tug nikolay chiker & nuclear-powered sub kazan..

cruise from florida to new york one way

Three Russian Navy ships and a nuclear-powered submarine seem to be passing the Florida coast Tuesday, June 11, on the way to Cuba for a military exercise , according to open-source intelligence analysts on social media . A tweet on X, formerly known as Twitter, said that the US Coast Guard Cutter Stone may be shadowing the Russian flotilla off the east coast of Florida abeam of Cape Canaveral.

On Wednesday, June 5, a U.S. official told the media that Russia planned to conduct naval exercises with combat vessels in the Caribbean region. The United States did not see the expected arrival of the flotilla to the Western Hemisphere to be threatening, but the official told Reuters the U.S. Navy will monitor the exercises. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to provide details that had not been made public yet.

Cuba said in a release last week the ships carried no nuclear weapons and did not represent a threat.

"This visit corresponds to the historical friendly relations between Cuba and the Russian Federation and strictly adheres to the international regulations," Cuba's foreign ministry said in a statement .

However, the visit comes as tensions rise between the United States and Russia over U.S. support for Ukraine in its defense against Russian forces, U.S. officials told the media. It also comes as Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that Russia could provide long-range weapons to countries within range of Western targets in response to Western military support to Ukraine in the war that has lasted over two years.

Last month, President Joe Biden authorized Ukraine to use U.S. weapons to strike targets in Russia , a major shift in U.S. policy. On Friday, Biden publicly apologized to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for delays in U.S. military assistance and announced the U.S. was sending a $225 million package including what the Secretary of State's office described as "air defense interceptors, artillery systems and munitions, armored vehicles, anti-tank weapons, and other capabilities."

How many Russian ships and submarines are off the coast of Florida?

According to the Foreign Ministry in Havana , the Russian vessels visiting Cuba are the Admiral Gorshkov frigate and support ships including the fleet oil tanker Pashin, the rescue tug Nikolay Chiker, and the nuclear-powered submarine Kazan.

How long will the Russian ships and submarine be in the area?

The Russian ships are due to arrive on Wednesday, June 12, and stay for a week, according to the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces.

The U.S. officials said they expected the Russian ships to remain in the region througout the summer, the Associated Press reported.

What will the Russian ships and submarine be doing while they're in the Caribbean?

"As part of Russia’s regular military exercises, we anticipate that this summer, Russia will conduct heightened naval and air activity near the United States. These actions will culminate in a global Russian naval exercise this fall," the U.S. official told reporters, according to Reuters.

"We are expecting that Russia will temporarily send combat naval vessels to the Caribbean region and these ships will likely conduct port calls in Cuba and possibly Venezuela. There may also be some aircraft deployments or flights in the region," he said.

The Cuban foreign minister said the Russian sailors would "follow a program of activities that includes courtesy visits to the head of the Revolutionary War Navy and the governor of Havana, and visit sites of historical and cultural interest."

Do the Russian ships and submarine off the coast of Florida have nuclear weapons?

"This visit, which is part of the historic friendly relations between Cuba and the Russian Federation, strictly adheres to the international conventions to which the State of Cuba is a party," the release from Cuba's Foreign Ministry said. "Since none of these ships carry nuclear weapons, their stopover in our country represents no threat to the region."

A U.S. official said the U.S. intelligence community did not believe the submarine, while nuclear-powered, was carrying nuclear weapons.

What is the U.S. doing about the Russian ships and submarine off the coast?

OSINT analysts have been posting updates showing multiple vessels in the area that could be shadowing the Russian ships. Some of the vessels names include the USS Truxtun and USS Donald Cook destroyers, the Coast Guard's Cutter Stone and the Royal Canadian Navy frigate HMCS Ville de Quebec, with at least at least one U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon and Canadian CP-140 Aurora.

Has Russia sent ships this way before?

Naval exercises are common worldwide, and the official said the Biden administration was not concerned since Russia has sailed ships into the Western Hemisphere every year from 2013 to 2020.

However, the official also said Russian naval activity had increased after the U.S. showed support for Ukraine.

"This is about Russia showing that it's still capable of some level of global power projection," the official said.

In 2019, the U.S. military and Coast Guard tracked a Russian spy ship , identified as the Viktor Leonov, as it operated off the coast from North Carolina to Florida. The Coast Guard issued a marine safety bulletin about the ship, which the agency said was operating in an "unsafe manner" by not responding to radio calls and running without lights.

The Viktor Leonov, whuch CNN reported is outfitted with high-tech spying equipment designed to intercept signals, has been spotted se v eral times over the years, most recently off the coast of Hawaii .

Tammy Nobles spoke out about the Rachel Morin's case on Monday.

A Maryland mom of a young woman allegedly killed by a migrant gang member a year before Rachel Morin’s murder at the hands of another accused migrant has a message for President Biden: Secure the border.

Tammy Nobles, whose 20-year-old daughter was raped and strangled in 2022, told The Post Monday the federal government’s lax border policies are to blame for the unthinkable tragedies her family and Morin’s loved ones have faced.

“It is occurring because Homeland Security and Health and Human Services are not doing their jobs and other agencies in power like the police and government aren’t doing anything to prevent this,” Nobles said in an interview.

Kayla Hamilton was raped and killed in 2022. Police later arrested an illegal migrant in the case.

“And Biden sure isn’t trying to prevent these types of crimes from happening. He is the one that is welcoming the illegal immigrants here.

“Government agencies, federal and local, need to take responsibility and put American citizens first and not last. Our safety is not being put first.”

Outcry over the country’s porous border has mounted in recent days after accused Salvadoran gang member Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, 23, was arrested Friday for the rape and murder of Morin, 37, on a Maryland hiking trail last August.

Martinez-Hernandez, who came to the US illegally , is facing first-degree murder and first-degree rape charges in her death.

The sickening crime came a year after Nobles’ daughter, Kayla Hamilton, was allegedly killed in her trailer by a 17-year-old MS-13 gang member who is also from El Salvador.

The teen, who was arrested in January 2023 and is facing a first-degree murder charge, allegedly shared the home with the victim as he sublet it from another undocumented migrant.

“I am incredibly saddened that something like this has occurred again. I understand what Rachel’s mom and family are going through and the nightmare that they have to endure every day,” Nobles said of Morin’s murder.

Rachel Morin

The devastated mom sued the federal government for $100 million earlier this year, accusing officials of failing to properly screen her daughter’s murder suspect before he entered the country.

Meanwhile, Morin’s alleged killer was already wanted for a previous killing in El Salvador and later, the assault of a mom and young girl in Los Angeles, authorities said.

“My message to Biden would be close the border and start vetting and background checking every illegal immigrant and start processing the ones that came here the legal way,” Nobles said.

“We can’t keep letting everyone in without properly vetting and background checking them.”

She said her advocacy on behalf of her slain daughter and other victims is to “try to prevent tragedies like Kayla’s and Rachel’s.”
